Welcome to TeamLiquid’s new home for Dota news and community!

What We Are

Like our friends at LiquidHearth, we are a new site under the TeamLiquid banner focused purely on Dota. We will exclusively serve the happenings of the Dota world and the community that has existed on TeamLiquid.net through the last several years, while TL will remain the home for all things Brood War and StarCraft II. Whereas before TeamLiquid served as a hub for multiple games and interests this will narrow the focus and allow us to tailor the site to our specific needs.

Specialization of the site will allow us to create a true home for Dota and only Dota, from aesthetics like the banner (which sports a stylish Tidehunter courtesy of Lip Comarella) to functions like our calendar, which has been rebuilt from the ground up to best present Dota tournaments and matches. Finally Dota fans can post with Dota-related user icons as well, and we have added all of the heroes to be chosen.

What You Can Find

In addition to the regular General, Tournament, and Strategy forums you have come to know and love, we have expanded our forums to include a Player & Team Discussion place for topics relating to your favorite organizations and a Community General area if you want to chat about topics not relating to Dota. Outside of the General Discussion thread that is. For posts we have redesigned how the forum looks and given it a much more sleek feel for general usage.

We have also completely rehauled our calendar. Now in addition to showing the names and times events begin, we have listings for each individual match within the event plus easy links to Liquipedia, the Live Report thread, as well as icons for easy visual recognition. Like the TeamLiquid calendar, all of this can be added to our listing by anyone on the calendar but we have added another cool feature and the details such as matches being played will have the ability for anyone to edit. By clicking the title of an event you can get an idea of the kinds of information that can be added and how it all works - this will allow us to have each match showing live as it airs. We have also completely redone our event listing and it now has a weekly as well as monthly view that is much simpler to parse and find the matches you want to see.

Below on the right sidebar we also have easy links to Liquipedia pages for all upcoming, ongoing, and recently finished events straight from the wiki. This will allow you to find out who played in the matches of the day and quickly see results with a single click.

The site has also been completely overhauled to work on screens of all resolutions and will size down appropriately on tablets, phones, or whatever non-desktop browsing capability you may have.

Join Us, Why Don’t You

This will be the permanent home we build for Dota. This is only the beginning, and as time goes on we will keep exploring ways to make the site a place for all comers and one that has Dota coursing through its veins.

You can expect us to continue to bring only the best quality of news and forum moderation to ensure a community that is interesting to be a part of. We’re passionate about our site, our game, and our community so pull up a chair and take the ride with us.
