I only hate it more now because I am experiencing it personally more and more.

Double-Check Sniper builds Update Legion Commander builds Double-Check Shadow Fiend
fix Topic in view of excel sheet corrections - essentially, the excel sheet formulas kept misassociating itself with the wrong cells; causing percentages to be wrong (4% growth instead of an actual 2% growth). I just fixed it, but that means all my old posts could be wrong; so I have to go back and fix them all.

Guides to watch (nearing 1 million):
Phantom Lancer Nyx Assassin (Middle) Sand King Bounty Hunter

Most guides are looking nearly up-to-date, will look into updating the general hero descriptions

Dark Seer guide should probably include a blink dagger somewhere; it's pretty good on him.

Blink should be core or situational, Arcanes and Guardian's should be situational and Refresher should be extension as well.

I said MOST!
I'll take a look at DS now

The starting items for DS should also include Stout. An offlane melee with 6 base armor and a strong tendency to fight in creeps has very little reason not to buy Stout.

Tossed the branches, added a clarity and stout

stats coming in 4 days. Hoping to get 75.75 million at least. Looking at some heroes I may have overlooked, but I think we're on a good track as I start testing again.

Why should shadow blade be core on Drow Ranger?
|
She had three diverse builds and I felt this one was the most straight-forward for soloQ
|
If u take in account who these guides are assigned to, i dont think shadowblade is that bad of a item.
But still, one goal of these guides should also be to educate "noobs" away from "noob items", which then again, makes shadowblade bad item. Personally i think with the new silver edge makes shadow blade just fine item for drow, makes u a bit tougher to kill + gives u solo-kill potential vs. heroes like bb. Honestly im not sure whether it should be core or not.
Few other things i noticed while looking at drow build is that u dont mention about HotD's active part, dominating a creep. I would add it, and tell where it is used (stacking ancients, wolf aura). Plus,,theres no satanic in extension items, which is pretty damn good on drow after 2-3 damage items/bkb.
Im trying to think something to replace drums too but i guess it needs to be there if everything goes horribly :|

boy i hope those drow rangers who insisted on getting shadow blade and looking for "pickoffs" despite having a game where we could literally walk all 5 heroes to the ancient and win weren't following your guide

Ok. In that case Silver Edge should be Extension (instead of Situational), probably bumping MKB to Situational.

It's rare that I'll speak out about specific negatively-toned posts, but your sense of "feedback" is condescending and unwanted to the point that I feel the need to point it out publicly (since this isn't the first time.).
edit: I'm not sure if I'm reading it right but I'm not very tolerant right now.

You're correct.
I was actually looking at Satanic and unfortunately didn't include it, I should probably do that. I actually hadn't had any success with the previous Drow build and was having a lot of trouble finding an alternative that wasn't Mask of Madness.

That makes a lot of sense. I'm heading to bed now and will actually take a better look at Drow. I was a bit hasty with her change I guess and I am having trouble seeing how to improve her (I like HOTD as core on her actually, but felt she had issues with escape, similar to Sniper)

Over the various iterations of the Drow guide, my own personal builds switched from HotD to MoM, which felt like it finally made the Shadow Blade rat play worthwhile. Then MoM got nerfed, and I'm not sure whether to switch back to HotD, and thus omit Shadow Blade in favor of a faster Manta, Butterfly and eventually BoTs, and relying on move speed for escape.

Honestly, SB gives a well-rounded stat mix. It's good for a beginner's guide because it's a middle of the road option that is kinda OK doing anything--there will be better items for specific scenarios but the combination of damage, attack speed, and a movespeed/invis active is well-rounded enough that in the mistake-laden play of low level pubs the item choice is never bad enough to lose you the game. If you really have to 5-man, the item choice isn't going to hurt her unless it's a game where she absolutely needs first item BKB or something.

MoM and HotD are bad items for a general beginner's guide because while they're good items for Drow, they're pretty specialized in their function and can be good or awful based on the flow of the game itself.
