It's all preference whether you like the Cherry MX Blue (Razer) key switches o rCherry MX Black (Steele Series). Check this link (Mechanical Keyboard Guide) to see which one you may prefer or just goto your local store and ask to try each out for a few seconds. EDIT: I own the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate. I would recommend the Blackwidow and if you don't care about lights or extra usb/sound ports off your keyboard you can save a good 40bucks.

It's quite nice, except the spacebar got messed up due to me raging and pounding on it :\ I'd recommend it for sure, it's a great buy and a really good keyboard. Not going to lie, I may be in a very similar situation. They have a solid warranty though O.o

It's not about how it "sounds". The feel of typing on a mechanical keyboard is superb to a regular membrane.

Some people just like supporting companies that support what they like (esports). Edit: And what comes to mechanical keyboards. Just try it. Feels so good!

For typing I loved the feel of the Blue switches on the Razer Blackwidow, it really did make typing feel amazing. As for gaming, I did feel that I made alot more mis-types, pressing down the wrong keys during a heated moment since they required so little force to push down. As for the black switches on the 7G, I found I hardly ever mistype with them, which is really the selling point for black switches. However for typing it really doesn't feel too good, the keys feel really hard to push down at first but once you get used to them it's perfectly fine. The feel is more akin to a regular plastic membrane keyboard than any other mechanical keyboard i've tried, although it is definitely more responsive and has it's own unique feel to it. So as you can probably tell I voted Steelseries, the keybaord itself feels robust and like it wouldn't break easily, compared to the Blackwidow which really pissed me off by breaking after a month. And since it's for gaming the steelseries is really the better option in my opinion.

They don't just sound good, they feel good as well. @OP It's honestly up to whether you want the cherry blue switches or the cherry blacks. I highly recommend you test them in store before you buy them since they feel distinctly different. Honestly from my point of view, the Razer(blues) are better for RTS gaming while the Steelseries(blacks) are better for FPS gaming. The only thing I'll warn you about is that the steelseries have different keyboard layouts and some of them are truly convoluted with small backspaces, shortened right shifts etc etc. Make sure you can live with the layout you get.
