I tried streaming last night and it lagged pretty hard in 720p and then lagged during big 200/200 battles in 480p. I'm just curious to know whether this is because my computer can't handle it or because of my xsplit settings. Here are my pc specs:

CPU: Intel i5 750
GPU: ATI Radeon 5850
RAM: 4GB DDR3
Windows 7

I'm guessing I just can't handle 720p. Just wanted to make sure.

Just curious. is it possible to stream on a wide screen monitor. since windowed (fullscreen) doesnt support wide screen resolution and xsplit cant stream in full screen mode. Does anyone have any idea as to which is the best way to go about this. im sure many streamers out there are using wide screen monitors.

This doesn't make sense/isn't true. SC2 supports both 16 : 9 and 16:10 and when in "windowed fullscreen" your ingame resolution and aspect will be whatever your desktop resolution is set to.

i have dual monitors running on my pc.
will this effect the setup of xsplit?

And after setup, you will have more options to utilize the region capture - ie. capture part of a windows and show that on stream.

for some reason when i seleted the screen region there is a black bar at the top and bottom of what shows up in the xsplit window.

How do i get rid of that?

Are the black bars showing on the XSplit preview window or the stream? If the first, don't worry, it doesn't matter and also depends on your view scale factor. If the latter, adjust your aspect ratio (use same on source and destination) or stretch the image (right-click region, un-check "keep aspect" box).

They do show on stream.
If i uncheck the aspect ratio box they do go away but the screen looks a bit stretched, not sure how it will look on stream yet. ill check that tonight.

Well, yes, the "keep aspect" does exactly that, and if unchecked it will look stretched. If you don't like this quick and dirty fix, as I said, choose proper (aka same) aspect ratio's on input and output.
Example: If your input resolution is 1920x1200 (16 : 10 ratio) and want a perfect aspect ratio for 720p, your output must be set to 720*1,6=1152.

I cant figure out what is wrong with either my internet, xsplit, or what. I used to stream fine with FMLE, but because that had occasional crashing problems I decided to try xsplit. The result is that my internet seems to disconnect me no matter how low of a setting I go to.

It broadcasts fine for a couple minutes, then the internet completely drops out on me. Once I stop the stream, the internet comes back and I can continue to play (which means it is in fact the broadcasting causing it)... this makes no sense to me... I have 3.7Mb/s upload and it cant handle broadcasting at a mere 800Kb/s?

EDIT: Resolution is 1280x720 @ 30fps

Computer runs fine throughout the whole process, but specs:
i5 2500k @ 4Ghz
8GB DDR3 1600
EVGA GTX 460 1GB

Not that it matters to your problem, but I would raise the VBV Max Bitrate to 1200 Kbit/s for better overall quality (and let the buffer have what it wants, I can see you've edited the amount). You have the upload for it.

I'm not entirely convinced your problem is related to XSplit based on your post. The thing that sticks out here is your router or NIC. Either can theoretically choke during mass traffic. It's not very common but I would start diagnosing the two. First test is this: When your internet breaks down, can you still access it from another device/computer?

Also, if you go back to FME does the crashes stop?

Well since this is the most recently posted in thread on Xsplit I suppose I should ask here. Whenever I stream SC2 or LoL I get an awful frame rate, or at least it looks laggy to me. I have SC2 on medium and LoL at max. Ny specs are:

i7 920 @ 3.8GHz
6GB DDR3 @ 1600MHz
GTX 275
Win 7

My resolution is at 1680x1050max and I output at 960x600 or 1280x800. My upload is 25Mb.

Yea, I tried reducing everything just to see if it would work at all, and it just wont. The odd thing is, this only really becomes an issue in games against other players. If it is just myself vs a computer, I get brief periods of lag (like 2-3 seconds of the waiting for server window). This only happens on my computer, the internet remains fine for the rest of the house.

I am using a USB wireless network adapter, that is getting to be "old" in terms of technology (its like 2 years old now)... are you thinking that this could be the problem?

My router shits on me when i try to go past 1.2mb/s, So either your router cannot handle it and its old like mine or your isp is shitting on your not allowing you to get past 800kb/s upload.

It's a bit weird, I'll give you that. I'm leaning towards your USB/Wifi NIC though. Are you able to test the setup with a wired connection?
Also, does the problem go away if you switch back to FME?

b) Please be more specific. Allright you've given some details, but the most important "Awful frame rate" isn't very helpful nor can we give much insight without going into assumptions.

Its a pretty new router (about 4 months old now), a motorola surfboard xtreme I think it is... and it should be able to handle it fine as I have done FTP uploads at the full speed.

I can not test with a wired connection, and I havent used FME for a long while (will have to redownload and configure, never tried configuring for JTV). Maybe I should invest in a new PCI wireless NIC... though it is strange.

I can download, I can upload, I can torrent (though I severely limit torrent upload rates), but for some reason I cant stream ><

Reasonable assumptions, but he posted network speed test results plus he was able to play fine while using FME. Therefore I cannot second this idea. The router also works fine during the problems (tried+tested above), therefore it almost must be local to the computer.
