For me the sound seems fine, I would lower your bitrate for sound to 64000, and are you using a 3.5mm headset/ or are you using usb?

they are wireless headphones, there is a receiver which plugs into USB, and then a green cord that plugs into the headphone jack. maybe this is the problem, i'm not at my desktop right now, but i'll be sure to try to lower my bitrate later and maybe try without the headphones and see how that turns out thx!

The black bars on the sides in Xplit, is there a way to get rid of those? I have the Resolution set to 1280x720.

I currently have 500 kbps upload and I'll have to pay even more (THANKS ROGERS) to get 1 MBps upload. I stream at 640 by 360 at 12 FPS (though I used to do 15 at school when I had better upload) If I upgrade to 1 MBps, would that be enough to stream and play at the same time without lagging my game up? Currently if I do that my game suffers and I'll get 0.5-1 second delay. Also I saw above that someone was able to actively limit their bitrate with Xsplit. How is that possible - and is it recommended?

I prefer smoother motion so I run a little under 720p. The XSplit configuration guide (OP) has a step that allows you to select video bitrate. I just upgraded to a 1MB connection and I can stream with the following settings:
My PC is a Q9450 (quad core, overclocked to 3.2GHz), 4GB ram, with a GTX 460, running SC2 on High graphics settings with 1080p monitor.

I stream using 500kpps video, 500 buffer, quality 6 44.1khz 16-bit stereo audio, 64000bps 1088x612 22 fps I only get .67 up though so that might be one of the problems. I have a Q9550 @ 3.5, 4gb ram, 5770 running sc2 on low @ 1680x1050 and I get huge fps problems while streaming. I'll start off in the 60s but end up in the high teens or low 20s during the late game. I also get huge stuttering or skipping when scrolling around, just a general weird feeling.

How is that possible - and is it recommended? Go to "Edit Channels", and the "Max Bitrate" option should be right there. I would leave ~200 kbps of uploading left for SC2 so you don't have much of a delay. It's definitely recommended to do that. Streaming at 12 FPS is quite low, though. I recommend going up to 20; it's perfectly doable at 500 kbps.
