So it was never the Stock fan! But the question remains : why was core temp saying the cpu was at 3.3 if i upped the multiplier to 45 (instead of 33)?

Course, I disabled SpeedStep too, but still, Bloomfield. Made of win, just not quite as much win as the things made of more win afterwards. The great thing is, that nice stock speed he's incorrectly displaying is only slightly below my almost 25% OC... of course, that's mostly me not wanting to overvolt, because my wife would kill me.

![]() What do you think a safe OC would be?

That said, the temperature was too high with 45 multiplier. So even though i was not able to have it stable enough for a torture test, it was still too hot. Unless upping the voltage would lower the temperature, but that wouldnt make sense...

Unless upping the voltage would lower the temperature, but that wouldnt make sense... Auto voltage is a terrible idea in general. It will either be too low for stability or possibly too high, causing excess heat. Or there's a slim chance it will actually be right, but that's about as likely as me winning TSL4. And I'm a bronze league fail type.

Anywhere where i can get a table of Voltage + clock speed? IE : 3.3ghz (stock) = X voltage 3.4 = Y voltage... That would be helpful ^^

Mine is set to 44 at 1.24v (which is stock voltage for me).

That would be helpful ^^ It varies by individual batch. You're reaching the point where the best you can do is google and pick the most consistent answer, unless skyR's played with higher voltages. You can usually get a decent performance gain at stock though. My 2.8ghz 930 is at 3.4 and stock volts. But that thing OC's completely differently, apples and oranges.

Temperature are at 75 when tortured by the test That's a bit warmer than I like to see, but if you're on stock air, I guess it makes sense. But then, normal use won't put it to full load. I'd be a little paranoid leaving it running overnight for stability testing though.

What are my best option for cooling? I'm using the Azza Solano case and was always under the impression that the case was good for cooling... Due to the side fan, the heatsink is limited to height of 150mm or under, so that cuts Hyper 212+. Not sure what are my best options.

The case being good for cooling just means you get better airflow to your CPU cooler. A stock cooler sucks for OCing, because it's not designed to cool it more efficiently than it's expected to need. You see more gains the more you OC. The gains are dependent on what you're doing with the CPU.
