I'm pretty sure it's going to be like in SC1 replay viewing, you can decide to see one player, the other or Both.

The auto camera scrolls to where the player currently has selected, yes; however, since players often jump around, it isn't a smooth process at all and is just wild and disorienting.

No it doesnt go where the player has selected, it goes where the game thinks some action is occuring (where spells are being cast and units attacked and stuff). Thats why it scrolls totally dumb around in DotA (because creeps and heroes get attacked all the time everywhere on the map)... It has nothing to do with FP view...

The response they gave was ambiguous, it could mean a number of possible "first person" modes.

wow it would be awesome to have in-built first person mode (tho that would probably be really hard to pull of for blizzard)
The problems would be lag
I think the only way an in-game FP view would work is if the commands to move the screen around that the player issues are given directly to your screen aka.

1)Flash presses the left arrow key.
2)The interpretation that left arrow key = move screen left is given to both your and his computer screens.
3) both your screens move at the same time.

If it were a pure FPVOD style view, you would have to wait for Flash's screen to move, then your computer would think "omg it moved!", and then your screen would move -> takes too much time.

There are already lots of games that implement a FPview of other individuals from within the game client. Most of which are FPS or TPS, but the principal behind the idea should be the same.

I don't think it should be too difficult to pull off. It's something that I'd really like to see happen, but whether it does or not is another story.

Fucking awesome!

I second the idea of a first person view though

Key points:
- Fomos reporters were given 45 minutes to take a look at the latest SC2 updates today (21st May 2009)
- Boasts an 'observer mode' that will help reach new heights for competitive e-Sports
- When in observer mode, observers can:
> go on a 'none' mode, meaning no menus will be shown
> Can also choose between the following 6 types: Resources, Spending, Units, Production, Army, APM

Resources mode:
> Menu shows resources gathered by players, as well as their supply count

Spending mode:
> Can see where and how much the players are spending on these 3 areas: economy, tech and army

Unit mode:
> Shows the units' icons and how many units the players have in numerical figures

Production mode:
> Shows what units and buildings are being built, and once they are built, they will be removed from the menu

Army mode:
> Shows amount of minerals and gas spent on the units

APM mode:
> Shows players' APM (Action-per-Minute)

previously they only featured the unit data mode in a screenshot(the one that reminds me of chess), now there are all these other modes including apm.

On another note, what i think would be quite cool (though possibly confusing) would be to have not only where the player clicks appear on the map, but also their cursor, so you can see just how imba their apm is (think Jaedong).

Then when Bisu multitasks everyone would have a stroke.

This. I watched a Bisu FPVOD yesterday, and it was nuts. I've watched some pretty quick FPVODs before, including most of Nony's and some fast Korean pros, but I had major trouble keeping up with what was going on on Bisu's screen.

Is there somewhere you can watch or download a lot of FPVODs?

sounds like the end to all the "what the fuck" faces from noobs when you ask their apm.
Yea that looks just like Kang Min... amazing game sense... and uses mind games well, but has the micro of a washed up progamer.
