Day one of IEM Katowice Round of 76 concluded with Leenock, RagnaroK, Dear, Scarlett, Trap, and herO earning spots in the Group Stage (RO24) of the tournament. Twelve players from the RO76 will join twelve seeded players in the round-robin group stage (played between February 28th-March 1st). The IEM Round of 76 will continues on February 26th with brackets #3 and #4, where six more players will advance to the Group Stage.
(Players previously qualified/seeded into Group Stage: Patience, SpeCial, Zest, Dark, Maru, Serral, INnoVation, Rogue, Bunny, TY, uThermal)

A great day 1 but Nydus is so strong atm. Wont suprise me Serrall wins the whole thing on the back of this thing. It's not like he probably will anyway but seeing Scarlett pulling Showtime apart with it alone was...cruel! Also hero made storms look op vs alive :D

It prolly would be if i would disagree but so far koreans dominated no doubt about that. But like I said imo the results just get really meaningfull in the round of 24

Quite strong words just because we are of different opinions, I believe that if we would replay the same brackets again all over again we would get different results. Not the same results, your reality seems to be based who is the winner and who is the loser. For me the games are also important, how close are they? Are they stomps or even games.
Even if the result supports your opinon I believe the quality of the games and how well they play support mine. Either way its just opinions, no one is right or wrong here, definitely not detached from reality =P

You probably didn't get that the first comment was clearly a sarcastic one whereas the second guy gave "the gap is closing" a very wide comparing the current situation to the one there was in HoTS during the period of hardest korean domination.
I am indeed arguing with you as a single tournament rarely is meaningful unless something historical or unprecedent is achieved whereas trends usually are closer to the truth.
The gap, without any doubt, started closing at the end in HoTS; if you ask me, I'd actually say that the average tournament performance of non koreans in korean heavy field was at its best at the end of 2016 with Neeb's Kespa Cup and the brilliant foreigner results at BlizzCon. 2017 didn't see any progress and while 2018 was remarkable due to Scarlett's victory at Pyeongchang(against two koreans only, albeit top tier ones), if we exclude Serral's dominance over Sc2, the other foreigners had results we could deem acceptable but still not better than 2016's and 2017's.
IEM hasn't even entered its main phase but foreigners severely underperformed during the qualifiers that are probably one of the worst events you use to support that the gap is closing ; if 2019 would go on in a similar fashion you could actually conclude the gap has actually started widening again.
