Regardless of the situation, we will still action upon "dead game" comments. As this is a sensitive issue for SC2 fans, please do not come into this thread and talk about SC2 players switching over to BW. This thread is also not about bashing Blizzard, David Kim, or the WCS system. |

LotV has beewful, IMO. This isn't very surprising to me. The games just haven't been as good. To me they're so predictable and formulaic. Unfortunately I have to agree the game has gotten to almost a cookie cutter kind of state very predictable for most players in every matchup basically 2 or 3 builds are used for every match up and there is no originality these days except for the few innovative players we have left in LOTV sad day to say the least but not surprising either.
It is like this because everything in the game is massively strong. Almost every composition deals game ending damage. Harras is deadly and shit. So there is no room for coming back, switching, being creative. U do something that needs to be done or die.

This is all ByuN´s fault as he has proven that being teamless is superior to all the KeSPA teams and those lost their reason to exist.

I would love to see official statement of Blizzard in that matter. They cannot be silent facing this powerful blow to Starcraft 2 esport.

Screw it I'm laddering all night in memory of proleague.

theyve shown in the past that they can

It's so absurd that in a few years my SKT logo will be a throwback...

the sheer nihilistic glee of some people at the death of our hobby is so sad. You always wanted this to happen to prove your own ressentiment-fueled fantasies real.

In all seriousness, what will likely happen to the SC2 players on those teams?

Yeah, but logo's don't carry over on different TL forums (and I don't watch other esports they're in)

They will become ronin and wander the land as masterless men, in search of fame, fortune and to make $20 in online cups.
No, but I imagine that there will be mass retirements now. Some players will be picked up by foreign teams, others will try to make it on their own. Maybe in a bit we will see the resurgence of new pseudo-amateur teams.

Well the game got incredibly fast paced and unforgiving. Althought this makes it more Broodwar like...If you lose a Tvt you did well in, just because of very random doom draahps...its not very fun.
I am still not gonna get why anyone would watch Dota or LoL, or even CS:GO. sc(2) 1v1 is the most watchable E-sports ever.

It was a great ride PL, best sports entertainment ever, followed it for 4.5 years and loved every moment. Personal favorites was Rogues One Piece theme, Marus marauder micro vs protoss in hots and TY cheesing Classic in game 6 of the PL finals of 2014.
You gave me very many moments of excitement, heartbreak, awe and passion. Nothing made me love sc2 as much as PL, will miss the hell out of you <3

A fair number will retire. What percentage of them do so probably hinges on what Starcraft next year will look like with WCS, GSL, and smaller cups. We should have more info by or at Blizzcon.

Or if a team league takes its place. It's unlikely, but not impossible.

I know it's foolish from me to think it but I really hope that SC2 is not dead, and that the released player will be picked up by foreign teams (the ones that don't retire), leading to a huge reorganization of the SC2 organization. I had a dream... A new kind of proleague, but not restricted to korea, with teams from all over the world. That would be awsome, maybe even more then the proleague was. But I know, it's just a dream, and will mostly never happen.
PS: I am so sad, I downloaded every game of proleague/GSL/starleague to watch them in the train every moring on my way to work. What will I do now?
I truely still love starcraft 2.

We need global SC2 team league from Blizzard in replacement to ProLeague.
|
well, a scene that from now on only relies on fans supporting it... its over. i know i know, no ded gaem comments, but how could one not consider this as the end?
