I haven't seen anything like that, but at some point, I remember a guy winning Lock & Load in 2 minutes. He got the 5 points with overlords, and Blizzard fixed it in a couple of weeks. Basically, I want to say that Blizzard edits their co-op maps, and it's hard to have a valid point of comparison between runs

-Nothing wrong with win rate on Dead of Night. Changes will be made if it's too easy -Considering buffs to Abathur early-game while trying to not affect late-game because of his slow start. -Looking at Alarak masteries because changes discourage his robo style. -Question on whether there's a commander who's considered to have a big disadvantage in mutations -Mention of leaderboards -Technicalities to deal with for coop replays.

I'd assume they are since you get to have fun playing with them but I haven't picked them up yet due to not being able to spend much time on SC2 these days.

Probably off-topic but are the commanders - Nova/Alarak/Stukov/Abathur worth buying? I'd assume they are since you get to have fun playing with them but I haven't picked them up yet due to not being able to spend much time on SC2 these days. It really depends on your budget. If you're earning a steady income, spending $5 to get some fun with new commanders isn't bad at all. If you're a kid with limited allowance I don't know if you will feel worth it. If you decide to get one, I would recommend Stukov as it's the most useful in completing some mutations (esp ones involving black death, firework, etc.).

From the OP : You don't know what hero you want to buy? Read the short guides, watch a couple of videos. Honestly, all commanders are powerful, so I would pick a commander you like. But if you want to diversify your gameplay experience, I feel that Stukov is the most original commander and my #1 pick. Nova is a close second. Alarak can be seen as a variation on Kerrigan, and Abathur as a variation on Swann, but you may still want to get them because they are among the best characters in terms of banter. So, in short, if you are tight on money, sticking with the free 7 commanders is fine. You will be able to complete every single mission/mutation. If you want to have fun, then it's a choice between gameplay experience (Stukov/Nova are quite unique) and attachment to the characters (that's on you to decide)

Commanders are all preference. Everyone is unique so that makes them quite fun. I do love Kerrigan and Nova bc they can do so much damages.

In terms of fun, I'd get Nova, then Stukov. Alarak and Abathur are pretty one-dimensional. I'm not saying you won't have fun with them, but I think they get old relatively quickly. Alarak only has Ascendant spam, and Abathur is get Brutalisk -> a-move + vipers. In terms of power, Alarak is probably the only one you'd want for mutations. Nova might be the strongest commander and Abathur can be good, but Ascendants function in a unique way that can make some mutations much easier (e.g. the one that makes enemies stronger when they kill units; the one that makes hybrids nuke when they die).

The 3 most played commanders on brutal from the first 3 months of the year are Raynor, Nova and Karax. I can understand Raynor since he's free to everyone and kinda understand Nova despite being a dlc because of her simpler macro but Karax surprises. I'm not sure if it's because mutations are included in the data or if tower defense with spear of adun makes it simple to anyone to play.

- Raynor is familiar to noobs, and one of the strongest for high skill players due to orbital commands/mules. - Nova is one of the strongest while also being one of the easiest to play. No intense micro like Alarak's ascendant spam, no intense macro like Raynor's orbital command spam. - And then there's the thousands and thousands of terrible players who can't actually handle brutal at all so they queue up as Karax and say "I'LL DEFEND, YOU GO OFFENSE!" on maps like rifts or void thrashers.

This however highlights a very important point : people buy DLCs. I think you could get Nova from the campaign, but still, it means people bought some DLC, and that is great to hear

You can still try the mutations/coop with no points assigned on the hero's abilities. Certain mutations would surely be more than challenging that way.

Yeah, I totally get this feeling, and Blizzard got the jackpot when they introduced unlimited progression to Diablo 3 and Overwatch. So much that it spilled in Heroes of the Storm.
