When I joined the team, AlloyE had big ambition that got my skeptical, but I didn't get bothered by it. I would be there to improve and get as good as I can, even if I didn't meet the expectations. He would push us to keep practicing and improving. He would even set up quick meeting times just to check on each players' progress and to ask if they had any specific things they would like to practice, ask them what times they are free, and then do all the coordinating and find another player within the team to practice for them. He would also find and link me like 5-10 tournaments and cups (prize or not), which is really a huge time saver and really great practice because he'd find those that would have GM or pro players, which gave me many chances to practice against what you could call "real pro" players. I don't know about you guys but finding that many tournaments and cups myself would take hours total weekly by scavenging many websites daily to find new tournaments as they pop up. Aldaris has been an amazing manager for me and actually played a significant part in allowing me to win 2nd place and $160 at a tournament as there were some big problems in my play that I needed to clear up and allowed me to play very comfortably. Although I find the actions documented in the article to be unacceptable, I will say that he is not lying when he really wished the best for his players and was dedicated to helping us improve. He even offered me to live in the team house for free, as well as cover my fees to go to tournaments. (Also I will say that for those unfortunate enough to have been misled by his high ambition and promises, I question those who decided to believe in him without a proper contract. Of course, he is also to blame for giving so many promises).

I for one will not listen to any of this- Made me smile Well on the whole this guy seems smart but poorly adapted, having almost manic future visions but no real way to back them (whether he realizes that or not), and resorts to lying to prevent having to admit he's wrong. Even now in his apology post, he doesn't seem very keen on actually writing down his misdeeds, maybe preferring to ignore they ever actually happened. But on the flip-side, he might now realize he needs to get help, players got a bit of exposure, and the replies to this thread have been very entertaining indeed..

Indeed. Someone on the AISC group compared it to the BP parody apology, which I think is very accurate actually.

Dude, in late 2013 other players were doing this for him, including me, because he wasn't doing shit. He just linked it to other people to make sure they'd sign up. We were constantly begging him to spend more time into searching for these tournaments as we were doing it instead of him while he was doing absolutely nothing.

Aldaris We are a very serious team and organization. HiderDK What's your thoughts about Ruff blaming Minigun for being kicked out of his former team? [–]Incredible MiracleKSG_Aldaris[S] 1 point 2 måneder siden He doesn't. [–]HiderDK Below is quite from him where he is talking to Minigun/Root: "YOU took away a team that I thought was wonderful with some of the nicest people I have ever met in e-sports" Source: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/starcraft-2/459250-ruff-removed-from-ivd-gaming?page=28#541 Notice, the emphasize on "YOU". Seems like you have just hired a psychopath here. Aren't there any GM players with better manners of a similar skill level you could have hired? Are you really this deseperate for attention? [–]Incredible MiracleKSG_Aldaris[S] You have not spoken with him so you cannot know how he feels. I have. HiderDK Well we knew what he wrote on TL, so assuming he said something else to you: He must either be lying to you or to TL. Aldaris Yes because those are the only 2 possibilities..... HiderDK Indeed, and your a very serious organization with your extremely elaborate explanations. I feel bad for Zombiegrup for this. After that conversation it became pretty clear to me that the manager either was willing to circumvent the truth or was extremely unintelligent. I guess, it's probably a combination. Given what has happened since with the team, I guess Ruff actually fitted in there nicely.

He pretty much made fun of the guy for having the temerity to ask for his due pay or whatever and also trashed his skill levels. It just appears he alters his message for audience and didn't seem to realise that by calling his own players bad it reflects badly on his big ESports team. Weird dude

RuFF has agreed to a zero tolerance policy and has signed a contract stating as much. Hmm, thought no contracts were signed? Below is a 24days old comment from Reddit. Hey guys RuFF here, I am currently not on Alloy E-sports and left about 4 or 5 days ago. KiloKilo is a really nice guy and has sponsored me back in 2013 for Anaheim Pass when on OGaming. I personally felt a bit deceived while on the team, and everything at Red Bull Atlanta did not hold high expectations. Except for the event itself obviously, better than MLG! (Keeping this nice) I feel bad because of a dear friend of mine who went through a lot on the team, and didn't get what he deserved. Which was motivation for me to leave because I hold high morals in that kind of area. He will probably make a post in due time if things continue to go poorly. The only money I got on the team was the reimbursement for Redbull Atlanta. Didn't get a Salary even though I was on the team for over 2 months. Maybe I was a good pick up because I could be tossed around due to the reputable hit I took back in June; that is just speculation though. Aldaris a couple of days later: ZG left due to neck pain and lack of free time preventing her from playing which made her feel she was not contributing to the team. RuFF left to pursue other opportunities. If ZG has neck pain, how can she still cast then but not play? Since I can't help my self, but continue to understand whether he is just insanely dumb or a terrible person or both? I found a response he made to Destiny. First of Destiny explains what it means to be a cheeser. Ruff bypasses the need for any competence at the game by doing insanely all-innish/gimmicky early pressure builds. If his early builds do damage, he wins, if they don't, he loses, miserably, because he has no ability to play a mid/late game on even ground with his opponent. Aldaris then responds: Interesting insight. I am his team owner and this is the first rational explanation I have received when asking similar questions other than he is bad or he sucks. That is the typical response. Thank you Steven Aldaris apparently doens't even get the implications for playing cheesy.. The reason everyone says he is terrible is because he is cheesy and everyone above silver league knows what that implies.... except for Aldaris. If I was involved in his team and reading some of his reddit comments, I would definitely question whether I was at the right place. Relying on a manager that seems this dumb cannot be a good thing

I don't understand how people are duped by such obvious fraudsters though... Please don't blame the victims. "Obvious" is a subjective term. What is obvious to you might not be so obvious to others. I do agree with you to a small degree, but in situations like this where someone like Aldaris preys on the naivety and hope of burgeoning progamers, its not becoming of the industry when we blame the victims.
