Can we help spread the word and create pressure to get Rob Pardo to replace Browder as head of Sc2? Pardo led the team for broodwar, frozen throne, and wow/BC. We need to make this a thing before LotV development starts. Think about it.

My main worry for this mod is the possibility that matchups will end up playing out like carbon copies of their BW counterparts. While this isn't necessarily too bad a thing considering the BW matchups were very entertaining, I think it would still be a shame since it misses out on a lot of potential, such as exploring other tactics and unit compositions that simply weren't viable in BW. I want to see stuff like more bio usage in TvP and TvT as well as more Protoss air usage in all matchups. Fortunately, much is still in flux and development for Starbow, unlike BW itself which has had its balance and design more or less locked since its last balance patch over a decade ago. It's expected that most players will initially be relying on strategies based on what they're familiar and comfortable with from BW.

I haven't seen enough games to form a completely solid opinion on the mod otherwise, though I expect a lot to change as more players of increasing skill put more hours into the mod and develop its meta, not to mention all the possible big design or balance changes that might happen in the future. Obviously, there are still some minor polish elements that still need tweaking, such as graphics and bugs.

you can use Blizzard stuff in Sc2 maps.. since maps you create in editor belong to blizzard :p

they only had problem with HotS units used in WoL maps

You can also use different voices for Zerg advisor.

Long time ago, before patch 1.5, when SC2 client-modding worked, I did many different voices for Zergs representing Overmind and his Cerebrates.

I think, if you'll like some of them, you can implement one of them into your mod.

Also I have skills on editing voice, and I can turn any good-english-speaking voice into an Overmind or similar. I'm from Russia, so I'm not a good and native english talker. If anyone can record voices with all the SC2 quotes and send me, I can remix them into an Overmind voice.

But for now, you can try these voices, created by me (I've used Queen voice as basis). You will not hear anything female here, all the voices are male now. But they are different, and I've called them with different Cerebrates. In the pack below you can also find SC1BW Overmind, and all the missing quotes are replaced with ingame sounds. You can check them also with any media-player, which supports OGG. OGG is just another music/sound type of file.

My choice is Zasz - probably best version. The difference from SC1 Overmind is voice and... ALL THE QUOTES, like Mineral field depleted or Our drones are under atack, which not exists in SC1BW.

It's working in the PTR, but patch 2.1 hasn't been released into the full game yet.

No not yet, I think they are trying to get some sort of ladder system. Right now you just join the channel, join a game, or create a game to get matches.
