Am I the only one that thinks that developers should just let the players draw their own conclusions instead of explaining a patch?

Icefrog never explained Dota patches, and Dota2 is as big as you can see. And yes, he has made lots of patches that completely changed the game.

I just like a silent approach to things. Deliver content and let the community try and exploit it.

Yes

Well we used to do this and always got hundreds of questions to explain the decisions, so might as well explain. Especially since there is a good reason behind every change.

So we now have people working on renewing the ladder and moving the client to a web based solution.

It will be web-based, so no point discussing that, but there will be some other changes.

  • We will add "unranked play" and try to add "2v2" if possible. If we add 2v2, what would be the best way to do 2v2 rankings? (individual rankings? One rank for each team?)
  • Your place within your division should be visible to promote grinding more as grinding will improve your place within your division in a similar manner to SC2 ladder.

Now, I know the ladder has been quite inactive lately, but let's just assume it was very active. What features would you like in a renewed ladder?

Individual ranking would be best.

If you have two players, one is B other is D, then the combined team value would be what is used to determine win/loss of points.

I rarely ever saw bio when I played Toss in BW. Was always Siege tank, Vulture, spider mine, Science vessel.

Occasionally, I'd have vulture drops, but outside that realm, never saw it.

Why was it barely used? Apart from reaver and storm, stim and medics was pretty beef as far as I remember. Mech was good for the spider mine spam and the large collision size making it possible to dilute the effects of psi storm or reaver hits.
There's no reason blizzard can't release new units or fixes to a game without creating another costly "expansion" you've already paid 100$ for, unless they want to treadmill the gambler with future promises of "it gets better"

Well, Korea is still using IE by law so we can use activeX to grab replays for IE. We are not settled on the other browsers yet.
