It has no countermicro. Its potential is huge to be costeffective as others are saying. For me the spell is imba and boring.
For example, tanks are a unit that terran wanna mass against zerg. With abduct, this just discourage it further to be agressive with small amount of tanks.
The "unbeatable" unit combonation is hydra/lurk/viper vs terran if he go heavy bio. Alright, maybe i cant say this cuz terran have the marauder which beats every unit except zergling
Ok, this phrase "It has no countermicro potential" is being used way too much when it isn't even true. Abduct has countermicro potential; you can move forward a group of bio and attempt to zone out the viper, you can back off the units he wants to abduct altho not sieged siege tanks, you can pick up sieged siege tanks with dropships and boost out, you can get SV and emp/irradiate, you can get other stuff to zone the viper like turrets vikings whatever, as protoss you can get scouts and feedback them or just straight up kill them, you can snipe them with blink stalkers, maybe you're gosu and trick him into abducting hallucinations.
Everyone have started to hide their logic behind "no countermicro" arguments, it's getting silly. Sorry to pick you out :L
I said tho, "countermicro", the "potential" was in another sentence. All these points you bring up are mostly strategic counters, not actual countermicro in combat
It's been said a few times that it goes off of "true skill" instead of point value if I recall correctly.
Where has that been said? The only thing I remember hearing about true skill is that it is currently being tracked but not used at all.
I'm not sure what the current limits are in terms of who you can be matched up against but the wide range is understandable given the relatively small number of people on the ladder and the rating system which reflects more on how much you've played rather than how good you are. Note this isn't a complaint, I'm just trying to de-emphasize the importance of ladder points. Just use the ladder to find games
I remembered the terminology being used just wasnt for sure how it was it was being used or not. Thanks for the input.

You gotta be kidding me. When I said no countermicro potential I was talking in general. How is moving units forward/back not micro, or picking up and boosting or using EMP/irradiate or... dude wtf

I'll try to give some input here.
1. We are not using true-skill for anything atm. We are thinking about basing win / loss number of points off of it.
2. Regardless of search range settings, the client should look for opponents with close skill first and slowly (relatively) expand. We may have to slow it down somewhat. Right now it is suppose to slow down more if many people are searching at the same time (more than 20), but that never happens because there are not enough players and the few players there are find each other so fast (which is not too bad of a thing....)
3. Not sure if "narrow, normal and wide" works as intended. Trying to get Vertias to respond but he seems afk. I am pretty sure "wide" works as intended if 3k useres gets matched up against rsvp (about 6k). But that should take some time though. (about 125 sec to be more exact)

Bring Swarmhost back as a Bio-Artillery unit. This unit has no attack, but can load up to 8 Banelings. The Swarmhost has an ability that launches a Baneling to target location within [some number] range, where it detonates upon hitting. Killing the Swarmhost detonates all Banelings inside of it.
Ideas like this sound funny but in reality its a hassle to set up. Load Banelings, burrow, aim fire. Maybe there is a way but I thought those "loading" aspects cost too much apm and distract your normal play too much. Kinda like those GDI Tanks/Copters in Command & Conquer 3 ;D
Haha. Awesome video. I would love a unit that shoots banelings, but I can see it being too imba :D But if it is implemented let it have tank range, be zerg sieging unit. It could be tier 3 and replace Guardians :D
Haha amazing video Grumbels. You're correct in that it might be hard to set up - maybe something similar to a Reaver/Templar mix, then; it builds banelings within itself and can launch them off with an activated ability when burrowed. 3-4 in the back of an army as a T3 unit would be able to rework positioning and create sandwitch situations.

Your stream was okay, but if you want my honest opinion, calling people stream cheaters on stream is very tasteless. Made me tune out immediately. Maybe I'm alone on that though. Anyway, you're pretty good!
Wish more people played. "2 people searching" is not very inviting.
When you ask someone right upfront in the start of the game "are you streaming?" gives off a "stream cheater" persona about them. Why do you want to know if someone is streaming other than to watch them play while playing you? Yes I have a delay but that doesn't stop anything. That was the only time I said anything about that aspect.
Actually you accused NasD of straight up hacking as well, which is funny because the only way he was hacking is if it was only against you.
When you scan army movements without knowing they're moving or scanning a probe being dropped off from a warp prism and not seeing it being picked up is highly suspicious and that is what I said specifically, "that doing that in 3 straight games is suspicious of map hacking."
Helps if you heard or read anything that was said instead of state something that wasn't said.
I have a lot of replays against him, and its true that he makes a lot of "miracle scans" but come here and scream that is hacker are not manners.. Because it could be: From luck to scans timming.. And the hack thing is always dangeorus because you can make lot of damage even if it isnt true... So be carefull with those things..

Nope, you said "NasD still hacks btw". Or did he hack your VODs too? lol

Don't worry about this guy. He's a low level player who was supposedly once only somewhat decent at brood war but now gets angry when his poor play ends in defeat.. Let him have his excuses as he will never benefit from it, but only continue to lose to those of us who know what we are doing in starbow
hey just letting you guys know i think changelings in ZvZ are broken a bit the wings show as if tis sc2 changelings and they pick up speed on creep and are slow off so they stick out like a sore thumb idk if its intentional or not but id imagine not :-/
Defilers needs a rework on their movement animation. I saw SC2:BW defiler with a wavy body movement when moving. They really look like a lobster so yummy to cook at the moment. LOLZ

I think its fine if it kills CC 1st, i mean, CC 1st is greedy and should be allowed to be punished. My problem is doing a standard Seige tank expand, and stalkers can, like you say, bounce around your base, and you dont have enough tanks to really do anything about it. Can anyone shed light on the situation? I find it hard to scout, since they can place the stalker tech somewhere where i cant scan, or scv scout it. So ive got 1 tank out + a bunker, and they can just blink passed, or blink up somewhere else and harass me down, and even with 2 or 3 tanks out, its hard to catch them. Im thinking i need to make a different opening vs Toss these days, since this is happening alot, and im too dumb to figure out how to defend it lol.
This has been happening more and more lately.
I think you absolutely need siege mode. If you go FD and get spider mines, you'll have a very limited amount and they can very easily just blink away.
You can try marauders, but they absolutely suck without stim or range. Stalkers move too fast, so they snipe workers really quickly.
The worst part is that they are one step away from getting DTs and templar tech. So even if you try to do bio, they'll follow up with zealot leg speed and psi storm.
It's gotten so bad to the point where you have to go 2fact every TvP.

To add to the previous abduct talk. I tried using it yesteday to abduct HT before they could storm. Didn't work so well :D I only had 4 vipers and he has about 10 HT, still died to storm :D
And with Corsairs I could not use Muta to snipe HT. I guess practicing storm dodging is only real option at this time...
