I actually love the DT buff, I actually was a Protoss fan back in 1998, became Terran main in WoL because Protoss lore was all over the place (Mothership replaced Arbiters? WTF?) DTs fill their role a lot better, it never made sense even during BW why a "space ninja" moved as slow as a fully armored zealot. The DT certainly feels more assassin like w/ speed as fast as reapers!

Made from starport, build at base, no perma cloaked, slow acceleration, slower movement speed than the normal dark templar But keep on making comparisons that fit in gold league

Such is the great bonus of a linear tech tree.

Such is the great bonus of a linear tech tree. How so? You need a starport on a tech lab, which means effectively as long as you want to have the option to make banshees you lose the production capacity of two vikings/medivacs. And you will need the cloak upgrade. Twilight council isn't exactly useless for protoss, so effectively your DT tech path consists of a 150/150 building.

And there is no nuke in the world that takes out 40 units, with an infiltrator calling it down standing "100 meters" away. But then again, no one knows how big the map is really supposed to be, the battlecruiser is supposedly huge.

Tactical nukes can be made (and i believe have been) to take out something as small as an office building. Not that any of this matters, just sayin'. And yeah probably the one thing i dislike the most about the SC2 engine is it's failure to convey scale, but that's a trade off for the gameplay i guess. I like the idea of very fast DT's. They might even see some deathball action given that they will be able to close the distance to the enemy much faster and make use of their absurd damage. It would probably require some careful movement though, coming in behind the zealots and archons. We all know how fast a decent force of DT's can chop stuff even when they are spotted.

The game needs more strategies to be viable not simply artificially altering the meta every time Blizz feels like it. The mech changes are interesting but i worry about Mutas against the nerfed mine and, the Tank buff looks tiny.

Your 3mine most likely will kill 0-1mutas even without zerg control. So yey we all can go play mech it's so powerfull now... Poll: Do you think this patch nerfs terran or buffs them? Definetely it's a nerf for terrans >:) (108) Nah it's pretty balanced (10) No it's those buff each terran dreamed for :) (10) 128 total votes Your vote: Do you think this patch nerfs terran or buffs them? I agree with most changes, but i don't understand the DT Buff, what was wrong with that unit, why do Blizz want to see more cheese? Maybe it makes pro games more fun because of more variety, could really be. Everything with Protoss involving seemed boring to watch lately (personal opinion, not a state of fact), and patches are never about the ladder I understand that. But What will happen is, that the 99% non Pro-gamers that play this game, will face more cheese (oracle, DT rush or warpin with warp prism...) which makes the game even more annoying to play, because we will see more one trick ponys, that sometimes have luck and kill us with 1/4th of the APMs

And as for 19banes check read below: Old splash has same size as barrak - 1.75 New splash has size 1.1 reactor have size 1.0 so almost the same. Below is image to show you how many lings\banes it might kill now. ![]()

The damage area is reduced by more than a factor 2.5. So your numbers seem unlikely tbh.
