Why would you read community forums (notoriously whiny) before deciding on buying a game? If you would have read the WoW forums in 2008 you would think the game was losing subscribers and had no redeeming value, but subscriber numbers were increasing and it was just a vocal minority. If you aren't even familiar with the game, how would you know the community is whiny lol What else would you read before buying a game? Ign review?
Unless you have a way to play the beta and willing to make that effort, there is no betterway to know about the game than to read opinions of hundreds of vocal users .
And yes, I wouldn't have spent much time on trying to see if wow is worth the price because I could always just get another game instead . Why should I? If I want that game without caring then I wouldn't have read the review anyway (I would only ever buy disgaea and mgs without reading reviews)

Have you watched WCS EU Finals? Well, they actually show the problem perfectly:
+ Show Spoiler + Game 1: MC gets caught out of position --> Game over (clearly MC's fault, but thats not the point).
Game 2: MC trys to do DT stuff, does no damage, then gets caught out of position --> Game over.
Game 3: MC is ultragreedy and it is just about to pay off (gentleman, we nearly got an actual "game" here!). MMA gets a lucky snipe on the Templar Archives before Storm was done (or he scanned it and no one realised, i don't know) --> game over.
Game 4: MMA cheese, MC hold into countercheese --> Game over.
Game 5: MC proxy-stargate, MMA is unlucky and does not see the hidden probe despite actually scouting its position --> Game over.
Game 6: MC Blinkstalker-All-In... MMA "gets it" and puts down Bunkers --> Game over.
There was not one actual back and forth game, the one game that looked like it would actually go to lategame got ended by a (lucky) building snipe.
MMA wins 4-2 in a totally forgetable series. MC just took some stupid engagements and/or got flanked which meant immediate game over... Which all would and could be exciting, if these moves would not instantly end the game... I couldn't care less about who won, but when you find yourself constantly hoping that there won't be a stupid engagement into instant GG something is just wrong with the game.

Yes this was very sad to watch. Something seems wrong when all you hope, is to see some actual game, and not just 'gg' cause of a single mistake. So much terrible damage. But honestly I dont know what to fix/change, it seems out of hand by now.

My friend was very excited about sc2. I showd him DH and he got even more excited. Then few weeks later I asked in what league you are? He said he hasnt bought game. I asked why. He said that sc2 is dieng. What had he done? He found TL and was very excited but after reading comments that sc2 is dieng he wasnt very excited anymore. Why to buy game that is going to die? Thats almost same thing that apple worker saying our products sucks. Try to understand that people buy things that other buy/like.
We are all walking commercials. We just choose do we send positive or negative message about sc2.
^ye that ofc if we want new players. With how people is acting, seems like we dont want new players. So if supposedly SC2 isn't a good game, but in order to make it grow and lure more people we pretend that this is a great game, people will come and see how happy the community is and join us. Blizzard gets profit with no intention of changing the game. Everyone looks happy.
Sounds like a good plan.

And who are u exactly to decide that sc2 isnt a good game? There are a lot of people who still enjoy watching/playing the game. It may not be the best game ever made, but that isnt exactly the point here. The game IS NOT dying. The bad part is that most of the critisism isnt exactly constructive, its just the same shit over and over again. I mean there are some very good posts on this topic, but 99% are just méh and are only negative cause its cool right now..

I think it would be better if we were silent, or at least a lot quieter than we are now. Constructive criticism is one thing, but most of what I read on Team Liquid is just worthless complaining. Blizzard doesn't need to see hundreds of pages of complaints to want to improve their game. This is their baby, and they clearly care about it a lot more than we do. I think Blizzard sees threads like this full of conflicting complaints about how horrible their game is and they decide that these people don't know what the hell they're talking about. And they're right to do so.
We don't have to pretend the game is perfect, but we shouldn't pretend it's outright bad either. I could talk for hours about what I'd change to make the game even better, but it's still my favorite game. There are plenty of things to love about StarCraft 2, and if you can't see any of them then you're the last person I'd go to for help fixing it. That's the trouble I have with these excessively negative posts.

I'm always assuming since I never talked to Blizzard directly. I bet my ass you didn't too. And when I assume I follow some sort of logic. For example why would Blizzard work their ass off and spend manpower to fix the game which completely satisfies community and still selling? They're not some charity organization, they have quarter/year plans to bring profits. If community acted as if everything fine they'd just make Lotv with couple of "cool" units.
Can you post a link where DK mentioned nerfing WM? How about other 5 changes. Did DK mention it half a year ago? btw Hots hasn't even launched half a year ago.

The ultra painful game was game 2. He lost his first stalker and because of that the 5 marines forced a nexus cancel while MMA's CC was ready. It was basically and autoloss from that point, but we had to watch 10-15 more minutes of it.

yeah archwaykitten, the game is so "not bad" that out of 90+ contacts on my friends list all of 3 still sign on

Or we just keep on being negative, and actually just kill themselves, while Blizzard gives 0 fucks. I highly doubt DK would've proposed recent changes if community feedback hasn't been negative. They'd give 0 fucks if we were silent. I hope you know what "supposedly" means. He would have probably proposed this changes anyway earlier or later, since he was planning to release those notes since very well the first HotS MLG, so i doubt community feedback changes his mind. And if he is listen after community, why would we even need a balance patch, considering iloveoov's opinion that seems to be widely supported. Please don't post your assumptions as facts. You don't know what you don't know. And iloveoov's opinion wasn't widely supported, in fact, if you subtract fanboys there were only minority who supported his opinion. In fact, his interview showcased the bangwagoners well, so i appreciate it. DK actually posted about possible WM radius nerf like half+ year ago, so that's a knowledge, not assumpion. And you make an ASSUMPTION that Blizzard will do anything, should the game die. They may just release the LotV (hell, they already work on it, may as well not go StarCraft:Ghost on this one) for the ones left to buy for single-player and forget about StarCraft 2's existence. Did DK mention it half a year ago? btw Hots hasn't even been launched half a year ago. Why would Blizzard work their ass off and spend the manpower after LotV is released on something other than bug fixes and customer support either and even care about multiplayer. And yes, SC2 i dare to bet is not a real profit for them, so working their ass off to have a support of minority is just a waste of money and actually doing the bug fixes and customer support for the players that do buy the game (and play only single player) is probably more profitable too.. That is my logic. DK did mention that WM nerf in interview, but i have not even remote wish of digging that up. Granted, he did not mention the upgrade merge and tank buff, and did mention a few tweaks to toss.

I have 57 contacts in my friend list and an average of 10 always online despite the fact that right now everyone (me included) is playing hearthstone right now.
But i guess since YOUR friends aren't playing anymore, the game is dying. *beats head on wall*

*beats head on wall* Yeah, right, it is like all alive and kicking... oh wait, sC retired, probably returns to LoL /s. But yes, your friend list is irrelevant, since most of them could just like LoL anyways (and some koreans are certainly right: team games outright SUCK balls in SC2).

SC2 commentators are like bad porn actors, they try to act all hype but nothing really is happening, I though hightlights meant something like Slayers_Boxer's hightlights, like a player doing something, a micro move, something happening, not some dull thing like in that video, how dissapointing. It's worth the watch, it describes a bit the state of this game.
Sorry have to disagree about that video being "bad". That was hillarious. X-D
Made my day, I missed that match.
