I mean, the Starcraft lore is very vulnerable to this. I for one don't understand the specific threat that Kerrigan posed outside of her leadership capabilities. A nuke or a few shots from a rocket launcher will still kill her after all, her combat strength hardly matters. Insect hives are very resilient, in any case, if you kill their queen a new one will be formed, and after Tassadar dispatched of the overmind several cerebrates merged together to create a new version and cause more trouble. I think that the in-fighting zerg queens were mentioned as a recent Kerrigan invention?
But this is Starcraft as imagined by Chris Metzen, comic book fan, who envisions Kerrigan leveling up at Zerus as the best method to help her deal with Mengsk. Personally I would be concerned with getting some sort of army if I wanted to invade a planet, but what do I know..
You have to keep in mind that in the actual SC2 you are only seeing small size battles which are really much more massive in origin.
Kerrigan is said to be able to take on ONE HUNDRED marines at a time using her psychic abilities alone if you follow book lore. She is a beast in her own right, and by far the most power psychic to have ever lived, even more powerful than the strongest of the protoss high templars (and you already know how powerful a single Psi Storm or Feedback is!)
Nothing short of a full scale army could even dent the queen of blades realistically.

Nice read and you have some good points but there are two things were i don´t really agree:
First, you suggest to increase the popularity by increasing the player base. I don´t think that this will cut it. There is just no way that SC2 will have the same amount of players as LoL or Dota. Even if the game would be the perfect RTS it is a 1v1 game by design and that excludes a lot of casual players. It is the same as with WoW were most of players are playing it as a chat program with more colors. They would play hello kitty online if the other things wouldn't be available.
Second, the ingame observing of pro players is discussed for years now, its something you have to extremely careful with because you could shred the foreign scene with doing it wrong because there comes a lot of money from personal twitch streaming into the system.
I feel that starcraft has done great over the years but to be honest, what I really want to see is a fourth race.
Protoss are great Terran are awesome Zerg are pretty insane
But imagine if they threw in a fourth race? That would be a total game changer. I'm not saying to keep adding more and more races but after 10 years I feel they are eligible to expand now, which would bring back players who stopped playing out of boredom and have them being "fuck yeah a fourth race? OMG"

TL I sincerely hope you tone down your policies before the last expansion. If people come here because they hear its the number one place for starcraft and get banned or have their posts closed or be warned for something silly. They might just toss the game as well.

Its probably even worse. I spent £60+ on WoL and HoTS and my total career games is not more than 300 since last year January. 1 v 1 ladder on WC3 is not really for casuals because 9/10 you're playing someone who can either micro or has a decisive strat. During a fight (of which there are several throughout the entire game), you could break your fingers micro'ing and keeping up production or holding an expansion. It does not stop the game from being any less gratifying - even to the noob who just finished the campaign.
Why then do I and thousands of other players stand here, unable to bring ourselves to play a game we spent serious money on? I could list my reasons why this game isn't good but I'd be reiterating what many other people have posted.
Dustin Browder and David Kim would design a game like this and absolutely ignore the community? TL can be just as bad. You try and have fun with the game by opening up with aggressive strats and timing attacks - only to be shat on by terrible players who seem to think that 'MACRO' is the only way to play the game. No wonder liquipedia is littered with scores of safe opening which encourage passive play and NR20 games. You only have to look in a TangSC thread to see all the terrible players ruining his hard work. Every other suggestion is shat on. Opinions are shat on BECUZ KOREAN. BECUZ PROS. What the hell? I paid £60+ to have some random 'pro' dictate to me how the game should be played?
I'm so fed up of this shit. Wanting to put my money to use but being utterly revolted by the game and the way its played and the way it looks. Its like walking into Arkham Asylum to find the Joker giving reacharounds to Killer Croc - its disgusting.
