no one in their right mind thinks C&C has a chance against Blizzard/Starcraft/Warcraft as long as its in the hands of a company that wants a new game every 12 months a la Madden, NBA Live, NHL, and FIFA.
no one is certain of the "real reason" EA cancelled it. EA posted a B.S. PR statement that the Victory Games Studio staff all said was not approved or crafted by them.
Then 2 days later all the "former Victory Games staff" elaborated on their positions.
I think EA cancelled because they had to announce a $273 million loss. and whenever a company is losing money and a manager wants to keep their job... their safest move is to fire someone.
its all just speculation at this point though. what we do know is .. C&C is gone for a few years and we should all send a "thank you" to Morhaime, Browder and Kim for their GREAT WORK.
Without Starcraft and Warcraft the RTS genre has no AAA level titles in the past 5 years. The last non-Blizzard AAA level game was Red Alert 3 released in October 2008.

I doubt he cares , you will probably just get a reply were he argues that his hating on TL admins is for the greater good of the entire SC2 scene.
On topic: I actually like SC2 how it is right now,minus a few points already mentioned. I'd like to see the game go into a state where its less about turtling to 200/200 and building the ultimate army and more about the 120ish supply fights. Because the games where both people play macro and never break 150 supply have been the most entertaining for me
Edit: Hit post to early tt. I'm curious how the game develops if we really get a region lock. Something has to happen in my view, atleast if you want to have foreigners stay in the scene. I dont mind having the best players win ( which happen to be korean) but it's way more fun to see HasuObs or TLO going far in a tournament - thats my view on it. If Blizzard would also sponsor local tournaments ( like an all german/swedish/french/ what ever country ) that would be a nice start. But everything costs money and i doubt Blizzard will just throw money arround..

Broodwar units were a lot more general, except a few units like the Tank for terran, the zergling for zerg and the high templar for protoss, all other units are functional at any point of the game.
In SC2, the units function is very defined (immortal vs armored, colosus vs clusters, vikings vs colosus, etc), so there is less human input in the creativity. This does not mean its non-existant, but the majority of the games are actually clearly defined.
This is also why build order win-loss is so important in SC2, as well as good scouting.

I know people dislike being told to shape up, but it's either that or another site that doesn't mind low-quality posting (see the official LoL forums).
