Regardless, best of luck to them both. Beats having a 9-5 real job or going to school. He has stated hundreds of times throughout SC2 he is only in it for the money, and thought the game was trash since its debut in comparison to BW. Now he is going to live the dream... get paid to sit at home and play video games. And now he doesnt even have to be competitive like he used to. Results and showings dont exist so he doesnt have to stress about how good he actually is. Nothing has changed for him, except now he gets paid to sit at home and play video games without having to stress at a competition about winning. Edit: It is pretty funny that he is now one of those "personalities" he used to talk so much shit on.
This, especially the last line. It's hilarious, and is a shining example of everything that's wrong with "ESPORTS". Am I the only one who misses the days when people strove to be the best player they could be, instead of being lazy and falling back on a "personality" job?
edit: those days were pre-2010.

Do you want them to be more specific? That would require even more words. Please... "Management agreement for worldwide management" Explain to me what the difference between "management agreement" and "agreement" is Does the sponsor or the player have the capability to conduct "worldwide management" to begin with beyond the Internet? "Marketing representation across all major platforms..." = "Idra promotes us over the Internet" "including sponsorship and licensing" = "We pay him in order to make money off of him" A lot of empty buzzwords just to say " agreement for eMG to sponsor Idra who'll then promote eMG". Once you've read enough press releases, promotions, and marketing, you'll start to notice the difference between solid and mature statements to empty amateurish statements like this one. It's just a way for a small group that no one's every heard of to sound big and important to people who have no clue; also to attract more sponsors who have no clue either.
You pretend to be smart, and then completely and utterly fail at interpreting a single word.
eMG is not a team, they are an agency. They don't pay IdrA, IdrA pays them to set up deals and sponsors (or more likely take a cut of any deals). IdrA doesn't promote them, they promote him by contact organizations.
They entire role of eMG is to do all the legwork in signing deals and marketing so that the people they represent don't have to. And if you actually spent half a second to try and understand that, you wouldn't have spent so much time being so completely and utterly wrong.

You can't hear about their work since they do everything behind the scenes. They basically are a manager for the people they sign. You dont ever hear about the people who manage athletes or movie stars unless its in some form of drama in which case they are doing their job wrong. And since we dont hear about eMG being involved in drama im gonna go with they are doing their job or at least no one has anything about them not doing their job.

I am, but I feel compelled to point out hypocrisy and reflect on the good times before esports was "ESPORTS" when i'm drunk.

I would imagine it's possible for an agent to perform only management and not marketing representation (or vice versa), or only sponsorship and not licensing (or vice versa). For example if IdrA's logistics weren't that hard to handle then maybe he wouldn't need the management aspect. So you can see the terms they're using have real meaning.

Congrats! I rarely post here (or rather, anywhere) but have to support IdrA!

They've done some turn-around things with TheHandsomeNerd brand (:

Cool, hope IdrA now learn from his mistake Good luck to both party

Idra is back in esports, thus, resports.

What exactly does this mean?

wow this is really cool. I think Idra will have more influence on the scene here than in EG. im not really sure what this group does besides marketing and stuff.. i know that whitera, nestea, tasteless, artosis, clutch, wolf, and looknohands are affiliated with it so far.. So it seems really good for Idra to be a part of that too, and good for the group to have someone as experienced as idra.
edit: does anyone have any info on things this corp has done or been involved in? Kinda shocked to have never heard of them.

If any of their clients appear at an event, or sign a sponsor a team, eMG probably did all the contact work and contract writing. Basically, they're managers that free up the workload of individuals.

I can't (likely due to ignorance) imagine it would be hard for IdrA to get a solid deal on a team/sponsor, maybe we'll see him in esports outside of the active progamer role, maybe both. He can definitely do both and probably make more money that way.
|
Very happy to see him back in the esport scene, but he never mentioned sc2 scene and what does this sentence mean?: " I look forward to seeing what we can do together as i begin my career as an eSports personality, said Fields" Is this his end as a pro gamer?
|
Good for IdrA better for eMG! Yeeeeey!

idra not playing is just not the same anymore, no matter what he does he is a player.
