Is there a way to spread creep that do not involve using the first creep tumor you get for free, the one near your base? I mean you cant plant a tumor wherever you feel like can you? lol
I'm laughing so hard coz i think i tried for hours when there's a little trick i didnt understand ;D
Btw there's also the mission where you're attacking warfield. Tried a couple times to blow up the pf, seems not likely to be possible. You're assuming too much. You're assuming that it's saying "the first 120 seconds of the game". It's really saying kill 3 more gorgon battlecruisers within 120 seconds of killing killing one. On March 16 2013 06:04 monk wrote: You have to activate all four scourge nests at the same time. I'm not sure I understand the problem. I got all the achievements just fine. you got all the mastery achievements? Personally I've tried a few that I had trouble with. Namely the Rendezvous one (Premature Evacuation: Destroy all Dominion Structures in the “Rendezvous” mission before Naktul’s brood arrives on Hard difficulty.). Assuming it means killing all structures on your side of the bridge (rather than ALL of them), I've always been a fair bit short of doing-so (although I guess it does look possible) The reason I'm saying it's problematic is because I don't see what I could be doing wrong. There's no extra minerals or gas that's useable, and unit composition is extremely straightforward since we get only zerglings and queens. I was going to try PURE queen once, but went against it (doesn't seem good) Pure Queen is the way to go. Every time you have 50 gas, make a Queen. Any extra minerals can go into Zerglings, but straight Queens got it for me on the first try. But yea, the 4 Gorgon Battlecruisers one has me stuck. I feel like the hatchery tactic might be the best one?
On March 17 2013 02:26 Insane wrote: With regards to the Rendezvous one, lings are fine for killing structures, but either target down first with ranged or use Kerrigan's nuke on things like firebats and especially Hellbats. You can't afford to have them kill all your lings, which they will if you're not careful. I left the base at the far top right (not the one across the bridge, but rather the one right below the bridge) for last, as I found that area the most challenging. You can free the first Queen/Ling on the left side with just Kerrigan at the start, and then use the units you get from that to free the units on the bottom right, which'll give you enough to start continually pushing towards the top. If you're doing it quickly enough, you should have quite a few minutes to build up and take the final area (when you do engage an area, make sure you lure out the things that will kill lings highly effectively first).
I didn't have to use any offensive hatcheries for the Gorgon one. Just keep continually pushing tumors forward as you push forward with your army (initially I pushed forward with just Kerrigan who can be pretty effective by herself, and then used almost pure Hydra with her later on). You do have to use one scourge nest independently of the 4x from my experience, but once you get rolling with your Hydra army you can clear the last two in quick succession and make it. Oh, and I assume it's obvious, but wait until the very last minute to use the first scourge nest - it should be pretty much at your base when you use it...
Yeah. Also I know that by the time (or rather before) the 3rd Battlecruiser gets to my base, I captured (and had creep tumors next to) all 5 remaining nests, so it's quite possible to get 5 in a row even.
For rendezvous I managed to do it in another retry (maybe total 3 or 4 tries); just takes a bit of proper timing and multitasking, nothing major (I made a bunch of mistakes on my successful run). Practice is all a person really needs to do to get it done. note: you can make use of burrow if a fighting queen or rogue group of lings/queens(i.e. rally group) is about to die. That way they'll live to fight again and will be healed.

Look at the name of achievement. Reference to Idra?

May I kindly ask anyone to upload some brutal savegames (or mastery achievements) please? I think the savegame trick still works (may need to re-save and load again however)

Surprised no one commented on the "So Many Banelings" achievement.

The trick is to load before you do the last mission where you gain levels (Either the Narud mission or the Prison mission) and to go complete the leveling up in the archives before that one. Then just do it again.

May I have your brutal / mastery savegames please?

Or the fact that The Infested mission starts you off with a 4 Brofester Hitsquad. It may or may not be a reference to Destiny, but I thought it was pretty funny and subtle if it was.

Will you please stop posting this in every thread that is discussing the campaign? If you need to wait for someone to provide them to you, then just wait for a response and stop posting this over and over please. Not trying to be mean, but every thread I go to that discusses campaign strategy or achievements has this post at least once, sometimes multiple times, peppered throughout.

seriously? you want achievements bad enough you'll download saved games to cheat getting them? the point is to show what you've DONE not what you've managed to cheat to get...
I'm working through the mastery achievs right now, so far no trouble with any of them, though they can be a lot of fun.
I like the combination of kinetic blast + Dash + heal, picking up ability efficiency when it unlocks. This has allowed me to ability spam my way through enemy forces with kerrigan while I macro up an army in my base.
For the 4 BCs in 2 minutes achiev, I did BCs 3-6 I cleared out all the terran, and used the super creep to get creep all over the map in time, then got everything lined up and hit em one after the other, worked like a charm.
Rendevous I forgot to defend my base, and actually lost my last structure 10 seconds after getting the achievement, was a close call...
One of the best tools for a number of the kill single building/unit achievs, is hunter banelings with corrosive acid. 80 single target damage, 160 single target building damage pre upgrades. Just swarm in with a group of these and whatever your target is will be dead shortly.

You are probably Master, but I'm a Bronze Scrub so it's not that easy ---_______--- BTW: What's easier - campaign on brutal, or mastery achievements on hard?

Don't know if it's relevant but i have a question. I completed the whole campaign on Brutal but some of the missions i completed while ''achievements we're down'' for whatever reason so i didn't get the achievement that i completed the missions for a couple of maps in the middle of the campaign, also some evolution missions apparently. Is there anyway to get them now that I've competed the campaign or would i need to start over? Tried playing one of them true the archives but it didn't give me anything.

Mastery achievs are harder, brutal isn't that bad. My suggestion if you're having trouble is to build your army to not require micro, and focus on just overwhelming your opponent. This is what I'd suggest getting for playing brutal if you're having trouble. (each mastery achiev generally has specific things you should pick for it.)
Kerrigan: Kinetic blast Bounce attack Automated geysers Heal double drones Fury Drop pods
Army: Hunter zerglings with adrenal glands (attack speed) Hunter banelings with corrosive acid Corpser roach with the +8 damage to light upgrade Hydralisk with range and lurker morph Mutalisk with sundering glaives and broodlord morph Swarm host with carrion and attack air/ground (flying locusts that attack air and ground are awesome) Ultralisk with 40% lifesteal and terrasque upgrade (self revive)
Then just defend your main base while you max out your patches on drones while your kerrigan cleans out your expansion. Then defend both bases with spines/spores/swarm hosts once available, until you have an army of whatever you feel like building and can go kill the enemy with an f2 a

Edit: If you can macro kinda decently brutal's actually not too bad. The Supreme mission is disgusting though hahaha

I think I've tried for an hour on Hard to get the Rendevouz achievement where you have to kill ALL of the Dominion Structures before the Brood arrives. I'm very close but always comes up short...
Any strategies to help me with this fucker?

Build up an army of queens instead of zerglings, and only move out once you're ready to not stop attacking, otherwise you're just attacking with less troops then otherwise. also have kerrigan go out early to solo some of the trapped units, with a swarm queen for heals/support.
build lings with excess resources, but expect to lose them as fodder while the queens remain alive behind doing the damage.

There are some good videos online that you can checkout. You basically want to waste as little time as possible. At the very start, macro up while you take Kerrigan solo and start to clear out the bottom right base. Return to defend against patrols (start to remember when these come, and from what direction, at the beginning so you are never defenseless) and then go finish up that area. Make at least 2 extra hatcheries and as many queens as possible. I did it all counter clockwise once the bottom base was down since that leads you to have the most 'free' units. Don't be afraid to invest in spines so you don't ever have to waste time returning to base once your army is moving forward. Try at least 5-6 spines on the side that you are not clearing (right or left) and feelf ree to leave 1-2 queens to heal them. Lings help as well but make sure to snipe Tanks and Hellbats ASAP since they will wipe them out. Also get upgrades going for your units so they do more damage and live longer. It's not too rough once you know where the bases are and when the patrols come (and from which direction). GL!

A real fun challenge btw. is doing the Rendezvous "kill 15 building before reinforcements" achievement on brutal. I did that and the other one on brutal difficulty and it took me forever and required real quick but also cautious Spine Crawler pushes. Zerglings are just so bad on that mission on brutal, and Queens too just die to the high amount of reinforcements. I restarted the entire mission probably 5 times or so and loaded a save field ~10-12 times. Was the hardest challenge I've done in the game.
I got the game on Friday and finally decided to look up what's up with the Gorgon mastery achievement. Would've been real nice if they wrote "within 120s of one another" instead of just "within 120s" to make it clear. Because at first I thought "within 120s of spawning" and then "within 120s game time". The first one being laughably easy and the second one absolutely impossible!
Apropos impossible, considering what I've said above I doubt anyone could get the mastery achievement for Rendezvous playing on ultra (killing all the buildings)!
