So I just started playng, but is it only me or are most achievements pretty much impossible to gain on brutal? Like I'm only on the 2nd mission right now, but I see no way how I could have macrod enough units to save the brood mothers before reinforcements arrive, cause the bunkers and siegetanks will just shred them.
To be fair I haven't touched WoL in 18months and only just started playing again with hots release. so I'm definitely abit rusty^^ Tune into Day9's stream right now, he's running through the missions on Brutal and making sure to get all the achievements. Definitely beyond my ability, but he doesn't seem to be having a whole lot of trouble. Definitely possible to do, though.

Despite me always clicking characters/objects whenever I had the chance for dialogue, I didn't get the "fashion statement" achievement for talking to characters.
This is particularly annoying because I never saved games when I played, and unlike in WoL, you can't freaking load previous points in the campaign as if you were in the campaign (I can't do anything on the leviathan.
I'll have to restart the whole campaign just to get the achievement, or find someone else's save to load.

Watching him go through it last night to get all of the "Normal" achievements on Brutal definitely made me feel like a noob since I went through the campaign on Normal for the achievements and to learn how each mission works before trying Brutal. I'm just not as much of a free spirit as he is, I NEED to be prepared! His reactions were a blast to watch though.

Getting the 4Gorgon in 120sec achievement is actually pretty easy. All you gotta do is clear the first 5 launcher things with any unit composition you prefer and then follow up with a drone and a queen. The drone builds a hatchery close (but not in activation range), then cancels it and the queen places a tumor on the little bit of creep that got generated. When you have done that with 4 tumors just activate all 4 launchers.
Edit: Do you need to play the whole campaign and get all the levels for kerrigan in one playthrough or can you get the "level 70 kerrigan" achievement through completing all objectives in the archives?

ah just watched a few of day9's vods and I'm glad that he had to restart missions a few times and didn't just crushed through it getting all achievement at the first try, that way I don't have to feel too noobish :D

I believe some people have been able to get it through the archives but it seems to be buggy for others and they had to start a new campaign to get it.

Hmm so apparently i missed clicking on the "Nafash's Hatchery" for the StarTours mission... is there anyway to go back to the Leaviathan and click on it without having to play the whole campaign again? Does anyone know in which planet is this?

I think you can only do it if you had a save to open up to on the leviathan. Otherwise you have to restart I'm pretty sure.

I didn't click warfields fortress and had to go back to Char and click that on a new game.

can't you just load one of the auto-saves that are all under "Recent" of that mission, finish it quickly and then click the building? Didn't test that yet since I have all the achievements expect the mastery ones. Same question for the Mastery Achievements, can I do them from the Master Archives or from the auto-saves or do I have to play through the whole campaign again?

You can do all the mastery achievements from the archives. They're also easier that way because they give you Kerrigan at the most powerful possible at the point depending on mission order so she is potentially way stronger in the archives for your missions than when she was when you actually did it. For example, I did char first so Kerrigan was still relatively low level for me but when I went back to the archives and did it it let me have like units up to mutas unlocked and like lv 35 kerrigan or something. Makes it ridiculously easy to do some of the mastery achievements.

According to Blizzard you have to restart the campaign to get it http://eu.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/6893571367
Hello,
Customer service is unable to assist with achievement issues.
If this achievement has not completed for you, you will need to restart the campaign and complete the achievement criteria again. someone else in that thread says this should work
Workaround if you have a save game from the Conviction mission(not the Archive).
-Load the mission and quit it, this resets the campaign back to that point of the game. -Go to the Archives. -Complete any missed objectives to get Kerrigan to level 59. -Once you complete all of the Kerrigan levels, exit out of the Archives and go back to the Leviathan. -Start the mission Conviction. -Finish the bonus objectives within the level and complete it.

woh. maybe i'll just stick with primal kerrigan. ;-)
muchas gracias for the information.

So I completed all campaign achievements on my own, only to find myself stuck at four remaining Kerrigan achievements. Anyone else experience problems with
Get a Grip, Smoking Corpses and Leaping Death
not refreshing when you hit more enemies? Mine are all frozen at somewhere above 50%, not gaining any more numbers even if I use only Kerrigan to kill the top flank in Planetfall with, for example, Kinetic Blast and Crushing Grip selected.
Before you ask: yes, I'm lasthitting with Kinetic blast, not just damaging with it.

Yes, they are bugged and stop counting once a mission ends. The workaround is to just get the required amount of damage/kills in ONE mission. Load up the final mission on Casual (enemies with less HP) and snipe/grip away until the achievement pops. Reload, swapping snipe with leap, and then just leap into buildings non stop. I highly recommend Ability Efficiency and use ONLY Kerrigan, leave your army at home. You can get them all done in about 10 minutes or less.

okay, this is mb a dumb question^^ but I like to do the achievements, especially the ones against a specific time, knowing actually the time I have ^^ So for the mastery achievement, "Home Wrecker" it says: "Destroy the Planetary Fortress in the "Old Soldiers" mission before the nuclear strike on Hard difficulty." But when is it in ingame time? Before minute 19? Maybe someone knows it exactly :D
/edit: Aah, okay I found a guide, LOL, it meant "a" planetary fortress - and I was thinking of Warfields mainbase my fault - its even before the first nukes strike I see, so a very short achievement^^
Thanks for all ur help and Im sorry, I missed that it was already asked and anwered on page 1 :/ I simply overread it BIG SORRY :/

It's before the 1st nuke (the cutscene where you stop getting banelings and zerglings) so it's about 5-6 minutes in (I don't remember the time exactly, but it's the clock that's running at the very start of the mission)

Attack up the left side. Ignore the gold mineral base, and basically just rush the planetary foretress. You should be able to get it without too much trouble.
