I think if zergs used contaminate on the robo, (and forge if its making upgrades), zerg could shut down the immortal sentry all in. Especially, since the protoss will have very few stalkers to stop the overseers when they use that build and sentries are slower and lower dps. Just landing 2 or 3 contaminates on the robo would delay the build enough to cripple the all in's timing.

I think your got great points, and im not even watching alott of SC2 anymore, mainly because all matchups have gotten boring... Even the ever so fun 2 watch T v Z is broken.. As a P myself, ive had this hate for T all since theier prime in 2010, now a days, im just sad for them...

No this would not work at all. Zergs don't normally start lair until 7 minutes and overseers start with 50 energy and you need 125 to do contaminate. The push moves out at 10 minutes. It is impossible unless you decide to do like a 6 minute lair which would make holding off any 2 base push harder.

I must admit, I havn't read the whole OP yet and did alot of skipping, but the parts I read were extremely well thought out and written in addition to raising some very good points. I hope someone from blizzard reads this soon. Thanks for taking the time and effort to right this mate!

zerg is indeed boring, its pretty much infestor fungal infested terran and broodlord. And btw i am the only 1 that think infested terran dps is far to good, not only it has 9,3 dps as base, it is also effected by upgrades, making it deal marine with stim like dps, While 1 infestor being able to drop 8 infested terrans, it creates so huge dps(75dps from 8Infested terrans), that no unit can fight. Especially that you cant get away with fungal from other infestors.

i have never lost to an immortal sentry allin since i havent played any game in about 1,5 year, cuz the game is a total failure.
BUT it was kinda fun to watch tournaments but it isnt anymore cuz all u see is immortal sentry allins, if that fails then Z will roflstomp P lategame.

Very nice article. Can't agree more. The problem is not in balance, the problem is that in making same level for terran - you need to make 10 times more efforts. That's why being foreign player terran is 3 times harder then protoss and like 10 times harder then zerg...

Blizzard clearly needs to make micro units with big DPS for every race, like marines for terrans. If you micro good - you win, if bad - you loose. And reduce power of no micro units like infestors. That's the only way to make game balanced.

Great post, as a former Zerg who switched to Terran a couple months after the queen buff primarily due to the patchzerg / imba comments I agree with most of this. Zerg atm is far too forgiving compared to Terran. A decent way to explain it is that, assuming both sides make 0 mistakes, the game is relatively even. The problem it's a lot easier for Terran to make a mistake and they can only make a couple minor mistakes before they simply lose the game, whereas with Zerg as long as you have Infestors on the map even losing an army or being behind in bases isn't a game ending situation. All you need is one bad engagement from Terran and you can often ride that to victory.

The Infestor is just responsible for making the game boring and lowering the skillcap for Zerg, the other side of this is the queen buff which makes it so hard to stop creep spread or harass Zerg at all to delay their economy. Honestly with the massively improved economy from the queen buff (assuming 6 queen build or the like) I feel like Zerg would be slightly favored in ZvT even without the Infestor as long as they adapted to actually flanking and counter attacking, which would be especially powerful in the current maps given their size. I honestly don't know why we don't see this more, Violet vs Polt from IPL5 is a great example of how powerful counterattacks can be, especially game 4 where violet basically lost to Polt's all-in but managed to drag the game on for another 10+ minutes and have a decent shot at winning due to his constant counter attacks.
Edit: Polt and Bomber crushed quite a few Zerg's in the last few matches, but it was due to their opponents going muta / ling / bling without counterattacking or flanking (and going for huge timings which failed). Going either infestor or using counterattacks and flanks (with muta / ling / bling for example) is very hard for Terran to deal with atm, and when they do both like in the games Violet won vs Polt it's just no contest.

Precisely. Powerful units/unit compositions should be difficult to use and have downsides, like Terran mech
