Axiom Pro-Team Maff
MONTHLY EXPENSES
Pro House rent: $1500
Food for 3 players: $600
Salaries (total): $1000 ($333/mo. each)
Plane Tickets: $1000 (that's $4000 per player per year, assume 3 events attended per year)
Hotels: $200
Total: $4300 / month
ONE-TIME EXPENSES
Uniforms: $500
Website: $2000
Logo + misc art: $1000
Social Media: free
Computers/ furniture: $2000
Housing Deposits: $2000
Total: $7500 / startup costs
so you need about $51,600 a year to payroll a 3 player travelling pro-team with a team house, and $7500 to get the ball rolling
for comparison, I have provided a breakdown of a non-teamhouse team, namely ROOT:
MONTHLY EXPENSES
Pro House rent: $0
Food for 3 players: $0
Salaries (total): $200 (dont 1 or 2 players get paid?)
Travel: $0
Total: $200 / month
ONE-TIME EXPENSES
Uniforms: $500
Website: $0
Logo + misc art: $0
Social Media: $0
Computers/ furniture: $0
Total: $500 / startup costs
As you can see, quite a bit of a difference. Forming an online team just requires a handful of good players and a graphic artist. Forming a team house and/or traveling requires a bit more.

Interesting math but it's a little off. The biggest deal is the way SK handles it's rent system. It uses a JEONSE/CHONSEI system whereby the deposit is VERY large but must be returned in full after the lease ends. These usually last for 2 years. The system as I understand it is designed to allow property owners to take advantage of large lump sums they can invest during high interest periods in the economy. They make a profit on the investment then return the initial amount after the lease is over. Expect deposits for small houses to be more in the region of $20,000.
Also your salary number is way lowball

That's pretty cool, I was reading on wikipedia about Jeonse. As a finance student it really sparked my interest... Jeonse basically turns real estate into a bond instrument, where the coupon payment is your rent payment. It sounds like a good deal for both parties rly
Props to you TB for having the guts to take on these financial risks for the sake of making your dream a reality. If something was ever the opposite of killing esports, its Axiom

Well, all I can say is, I'm gonna have to sell a hell of a lot of t-shirts to fund all this nonsense.
Thankfully that's exactly what I'm doing
The Axiom Advantage.

man...a lot of good players for Axiom ever since the SlayerS disband. Especially Ryung.

I'm loving Axiom's line up so far :D
|
So, when is Axiom getting a team tag for the forums. Gotta represent!

With the signing of MMA and Cella to Acer, does it mean Axiom will be staying as a sponsoring role rather than build a possible GSTL line-up?
Azubu signed IntoTheRain as the coach for Violet, will Axiom be getting a Korean coach or is Miya taking on a player-coach position?
I seems like between Azubu, Axiom, and Acer there is a complete and competitive Korean pro team. Are there any plans to join forces to compete in the GSTL?
Congratulation on the success so far, I hope Miya shows the similar turnaround like Ryung.

Building a line-up for team leagues like the GSTL is such a big financial commitment that I don't see Axiom making right now. The additional exposure from team leagues might give them a little sponsorship boost, but I'm guessing not much. I would rather that Axiom focus on making its existing 3 players happy than expanding too quickly.

Actually the Axiom clothes look pretty sleek. When the team establishes itself a bit more and Ryung wins this GSL, I'm sure you could start getting some returns on your investment with some quality merchandise to sell to fans.

Sweet. Loving watching this team grow, where's our Axiom forum tag, mods?!
