Previously we was able to customize animated space background in Battle.Net menu, picture at Battle.net screens, Stronger Team Color mod, and other small customizations, that changed graphic in game a bit.
Now, this time, we're trying to start and try modify ingame UI. And now we have 2 ways to modify it: custom made overlay program and recolored textures. First way is a similar to Xplit, that adds overlay, so you can see a lot different bottombars at many streams. But "UI changer" allows to do that for yourself, not for viewers only! Also, with your Photoshop or designer skills, now YOU can draw your interface!

Similar to overlay function, that many streamers using via Xplit, this very small programm (made by Anton_K) allows you to modify ingame UI without altering or modifying ingame resources! You must change your StarCraft 2 to Fullscreen (Windowed) mode and it will work properly.

Just select any transparent PNG file and it will show that picture over all windows. SC2 UI Changer supports some hotkeysCtrl+Alt+S - select skin window. Theoretically this programm can be used for other games or programms, because there are no connection to StarCraft 2. This is just overlay with selected picture and nothing more. Look for latest updates in original author's topic.

Hm, that may be a solution, but the only setting I can find is off or on (nvidia). I can't find any way to set a specific gamma. I guess I could change the setting to off for every application except starcraft, but that's more trouble than it's worth.

Is there other threads about stream overlays? Looks liks many WOL streamers, who are playing HotS Beta, are lazy to slighty edit their overlays to show ingame time.

Hi Existor,
I've been using the Jungle zerg theme for HotS and I've been getting a lot of compliments from my viewers (naturally creditting you for it ^^). Great job!
My only complaint would be that once the time hits 10:00 and upwards, the last number is hidden behind the overlay. Or is this intended since the seconds won't matter anymore post 10 minutes?

I think seconds don't matter after 10th minute. And enlarging time window for 10+ minutes at early game stages makes visible part of old Zerg ui, which isn't that nice
But if you want, specify what color theme you like and I can enlarge time window for 10+ minute games, so seconds will be visible again.

UI Changes doesn't affect game. It just places picture over all windows, so it can be used in any windowed game.

Existor these are some sick Overlays and I would like to use it, so I'm going to ask, do you have them in 16:10 formats?
Im interested in the HotS Broodwar IU Overlay or the Char Carapace versions. I would really love it if you have them!

Not sure if I'll use it yet, but this is awesome and I'm glad that Blizzard are either directly or indirectly opening up this stuff to mod developers.

i like the new-years-hybrid-themes a lot
however, i wish there is a way to just change the protoss standard-interface to the terran standard-interface, i like the terran-standard one way better, because it's more clean and simple!

Go to C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\SC2UIChanger.ini and open it. Then check options selecthotkey and enablehotkey. Those letters are hotkeys with Ctrl+Alt

I am having the same problem as pebrinel. I went to the file and it shows

I have tried changing the shortcut and dis/enabling the caps lock and they are not working.

I'm having trouble with this. I cannot launch the SC2 UI Changer, so I went to the C++ Download link thing, and I can't install it. I get the error "A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine."
What do I have to do in order for this to work?
EDIT: I uninstalled my version of Microsoft Visual C++ and installed the one in the post. Still doesn't work.

Well, my (and not only my, but also other designers from DeviantArt) main route was on highly detalized interfaces, minimalistic interfaces don't have special borders, frames and other custom textures.
GameHeart 2.0 is a good example of it - just squares, grey borders. And those interfaces were made in Galaxy Editor specially to replace ingame UI to more minimalistic and simple. These skins in this thread are in other category - more details, more design, more customization and mostly for ingame use with UI Changer, that just places these transparent pictures over game window.

Fair point. I was just curious if you knew of anyone who had replicated a similar interface to that present in GH2 that was able to be substituted to the stock interface.

the broodwar protoss overlays look pretty sick!
too bad there are not as many protoss overlays as there are zerg or terran.
im not really skilled in overlay construction.
some ideas for ones could be like
-dark protoss overlay, like from the campaign. like a black and green, or black and red (like the zealot skin)
-maybe an overlay more blue energy shiny focused like the mothershipcore, the sentry, an archon, or a pylon.
-more golden with more building color, carrier color, or immortal color. emphasising gold, some light teal, and white.

This last one, for example, you can see the corner of Group 1 cut off and the bottom of gold border of the hotkey groups cut off. In my opinion, it would look sleeker if the skin hugged closer to the original UI without partial clippings.

Some skins are impossible to make looking good without hiding groups. Here you can see that Protoss border, which is core element of Protoss BW remake.
But personally for you, I can cut out to make group 1 icon visible. Just suggest what overlay-skin you want.
Also, group numbers are neccesary, you alrady can count them or just remember group number.

There are tons of Programms that allows you to place pictures over game window.
Here in thread you can find Ui Changer, which allows you to see your overlay too.

You already can try to steal Protoss UI from Carbot's stream, but what about Terran one - I'm not sure, that I can truly "carbotize" it.

Does anyone know why this broke my game? I only installed this and suddenly my keyboard and mouse doesn't work in-game. My keyboard and mouse are selectively not working. When in the menus, chatting with friends, or anything outside of an actual game, my mouse and keyboard work fine. However, when i get into the game, the only thing i can select with my mouse are the buttons on the UI. My keyboard I can hit enter and type a message to the opponent, use f10 to bring up my menu (which my mouse can click) but I cannot select anything with my mouse or keyboard within the actual game. I really thought re-installing it would help... I guess not.

Have you installed NET Frameworks?
Reuploaded on DeviantArt. Now there are fixed versions for 1v1, team games and without icons.

Hello. Right now I do not make overlay requests. But you can use any of already created overlays. Don't forget that with UI Changer or streaming overlay program you can use any transparent PNG as overlay. Those overlays you also can find in the Google, just write something like "starcraft overlays", "zerg overlays", etc and you will find more overlays. In this thread you can find featured overlays from me, but as I said, you can find a lot more overlay skins for your game.
