Misery does indeed love company, which is why all of you are here....Why we're all here... After MLG I'm of the opinion that SCII is still dying off, as is the natural progression with any modern game's audience....and I'm hoping that HOTS can make a lot of good changes and bring in some new blood. We'll wait...and we'll see... | ||

I dont think i agree fully with that, but there is a little side of me saying, We arent growing, We are just stagnating, And if we are stagnating it means numbers will fall with time. Destinys main point is that only blizzard can grow the player base . And he is right about that. So i not sure why he is getting hate. Obviously his posts are a little bit exaggerated, but there is some truth to it. Even if his doom post didnt cause any differences in starcraft 2 right now from a blizzard approach. At-least blizzard is now aware of the fact that the community can go full apeshit if stuff is not up to standard. ( of which even with the newest hots patch, it still isnt) -the reward system still sucks and is meaningless to play for ( static portraits) .Instead we need to see new unit skins/cosmetic stuff like thor collector edition without needing collectors edition /alternate models/new battlenet backgrounds/Animated portraits. -Custom game issues with popularity system still there ( try playing maps that arent top 10) you will wait for hours cause the system does not promote new maps. It basically a system of the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Map maker movitation lost= no new maps. No new maps = a casual player base tired of playing the same maps over and over so they quit for a different game. ( newest gta 5! for e.g) -Team games still matching up AT vs RT and Partial arrange teams vs RT. Very abusive -The chat is still within these mini box'es. I dunno why blizzard dont get this but it makes stuff feel anti social . The chat room needs to be the background. -Clans dont feel like clans anymore, they feel like name tags. You could literally create a clan with 1 person. And you cant browse any clan profile that you are not directly a part of. -no in-game spectating of friends while playing ladder etc etc etc | ||

I hope I would be qualified as high count poster :D but seriously though, the amount of discussion is kind of repeating itself with little amount of facts to really have a solid discussion. Some claim stream viewership number is going down across all pro gamers and tournaments some claim it is just that we have more tournaments and streams to watch and so they are more spread out. my opinion is that there is less viewers in total. And we shouldn't be too alarmed due to the fact that the not everyone is so into SC2, some eventually will have their passion die off. I do agree with Destiny, I think I have posted once before in this thread but I can't remember. Personally I have never even been into bw but as a general gamer, the game just lacks some kind of interaction with other players. I sometimes even miss that huge amount of flaming and raging in MOBA, at least I am communicating with players and I have made quite a lot of friends through raging and winning some epic dota games. Not sure about how it should be like in RTS but I reckon something could be done to encourage players talking to eachother, not just glhf or mass trolling messages full of "fff OPOPOP you trash" etc but maybe something after the game where players can leave comments onto the game (or even certain point of the game) and the other can read | ||

I stopped watching day9 a while ago, I only check a couple of gsl matches that interest me and I missed MLG Dallas. It was all different a year ago, where I would watch and play at least couple of hours every day. But I do enjoy that Toss are getting demolished ATM vs zerg. I really like that. | ||

im guessing most people havent been in many gaming communities before. I have fond memories playing games with 1/100th of player bases. the smaller communities were always better.. less trolls, less whiners. the problem with this thread is the ridiculousness of calling a game dead because it has X players. Really, theres nothing wrong with smaller numbers. i welcome it. This is just destiny crying that he cant play video games and act like an idiot on his webcam for money anymore. How is this even relevant? Twitch numbers are not an indication if a game is "dead" or not. Those numbers are changed simply by a few players. If Destiny wants to quit StarCraft 2 for League of Legends - good for him. I really don't think he's quitting because "StarCraft 2 is dying." He wants you to think that, though. | ||
