If detection can see widow mines they are pretty useless vs p and in very early game.
They actually made mech unusable vs zerg now as the thor replacement for aa only does good ground dmg vs mechanical. Vs zerg normal mode hellions are obv much better than batllehellions cos of banelings.
Zerg gets millions of things deadly against terran, but they remove one good terran unit and give no units that would have any role vs zerg.
This is just my own opinion but I think they're releasing too many units and abilities. You cannot have a game to be competitive whilst changing core aspects of it with each version. It makes it seem like the game has something seriously wrong with it and that Blizzard is trying to "fix" it. The dev team is trying too hard to appease both casual players and progamers because that's what they think is going to allow them to sell more but really, doing so will probably hurt the proscene and create a lackluster esports game while disillusioning dedicated players. Moreover, I think Blizzard is lacking creativity with starcraft II right now with HoTS because some of the new content are pretty lame. In my opinion, things like the viper, swarm host, hero unit thor, tempest, etc. don't lend themselves to be "fun to play" or use. I mean that's their excuse but really, they're really just trying to fix problems they hear about in the gaming community.

Well, spider mine is a staple ability in BW so I don't think widow mine will be useless with detection from observer. If the cost is low enough, then it make our flying destructible rock (read: factory) more useful.

Actually, the normal Thor (not the "hero" version) is still in this build of HotS. It is seen in screenshots, and it appeared in the TvZ Battle Report that was aired on one of the MLG streams.
Terran seems a bit weak so far, at least from what's shown; or maybe the other 2 races are just OP
Battle Helion is nice, but they're limited to melee range and does pretty horrible damage to anything but zealot/lings makes it even worst.
Warhound seems pretty lame as well; I honestly don't see the point of this unit if Thor is still in the game and if Battle Helion is meant to be the tanking unit. So they made a unit solely to somewhat counter seige tanks?
and widow mine looks really fun, but it's really going to be pretty bad in a practical sense at the pro level when every pro has so much time to move those units out.
On the other hand, Protoss gets their own planetary fortress with recall ability, 22 range Tempest, and Zerg gets the ridiculously Viper abilities
From watching the videos and just seeing how the units might work, it seems like Terran mech is losing it's identity. It just seems like the same style as bio but built out of different buildings.
Protoss and Zerg both look kind of good, though. Z especially seems like it will have many, many options mid and late game.
please change the oracle, i think protoss are able to harass with no problem with the new warp prism buff, remove the entombed spell. Give us protoss something more to multi-task. Less spell casting, more microable units please! Even then ultra burrow charge, just make the ultras a little smaller and i think this problem the ultras have now will be gone.
I hope there are cool new taunts, dances, and BM moves in HotS :D
Swarm Host sends out hearts instead of locusts, perhaps? Viper sends out a whip that makes the whip-it sound ::wha-TCH!:: Using Oracle's entomb on every mineral patch in the game... Using widow mines on your manner mules...
Sooo many of these things seem like extreme changes. Change is fine, but... yeah a bit extreme. Anyways, like people say, I can't judge it until it comes out and some balance changes begin to be made.
