I do laugh whenever the terran complains they get bad units, its because their race is already a complete race not implying OP just they have everything they need already, their new units add a few more options they look fine to me.

Mines with less damage but faster detonation would be SO much better. I don't want to deal with "oh, I accidentally killed the unit that was gonna do AoE for me"

I'm glad you agree the oracle is worthless as a harasser. If the mine actually is as bad as you think it is, you are only getting screwed as badly as protoss is.

Beyond that, you can't be cost effectively attacked if your opponent doesn't have detection. That is an unbelievable amount of utility.


ANd other than Terran who doesn't build mobile detection units ? Observers,Overseers aren't a big investment.


If you see a protoss clearing your minefield, scan and snipe the obs with two vikings. Because of the mines his army has to be behind the obs.


If he has no Colossi or Air though guess what i don't have , Vikings ...


HotS is going to be a different game. By that argument, protoss isn't getting anything at all because I never make a stargate against Terran.

All of the new protoss shit comes off the stargate. I think it is fair to speculate that you will be making vikings. You are so caught up in being the victim that you are looking for ways that the mine will be useless rather than looking for ways to use the mine.


But why do the mines need that timer and the 200 damage ? 30-50ish with splash instantly and i'm happy. That 200 damage with Splash only comes into play if your oponent goes full retard .. 10 ingame seconds is ages .

The mines have to be really really cheap ( like 25 mins or smt ) to be worth it if the only thing they do is kill exactly one random unit with max 200 hp unless the opponent alt-tabs , falls asleep etc.


They're not meant to be banelings. Terran-banelings + marine/marauder would be ridiculous.

They look like they're intended for zoning areas and punishing lazy players.





The way its currently in the game it doesn't look very useful though. I can burrow a few all around and hope to hit a jackpot but 75/25 ( if this is true ) for 1 random units from Ling to really expensive unit could be just about anything. I don't know.

And punishing lazy players come on nobody is that lazy that pays any attention to his screen.

Anything that forces good players to be good is a good thing.


Does the splash affect friendly units? If so, nobody's going to use it against zerglings or chargelots when it can turn around on them so easily.

Nobody is going to have Battle Helions and Bio though and Upgrades . Upgrades will still play a huge role adding unupgrades Helions will still not work ( at least i'd be suprised )

Well obviously they'd give it something else. Also blinding cloud shuts down siege tanks pretty effectively, so it's sure not useless against 'mech.

Yeah Terran is so complete that they basically don't use any of their higher tech because it sucks balls.

Terrans are complaining as usual, they need a different game with only marines and siege tanks.

Omg, the units looks great and in TvP mech is now a solid way to play with warhound (hey, protoss units are all mechanics), mines and battlehellions. Maybe a problem will be against zergs, because the dark swarm is pretty powerful.. I think that the viper will be the first unit to be nerfed, the abduction range has to be reduced.

The reason that Terran seems like not getting many things is that Dustin once said that Terran already has so many options so they don't want to add too much to it. But the problem is that when Dustin said that, Zerg did not show such strategic diversity like we see today. The recent Zerg strategies are very diverse. The adding of swarm host and viper will definitely give zerg the most strategic diversity in the game. And terran's strategic diversity is clearly decreasing after Dustin said that. I would say they should consider twisting some old terran units to make it more diverse such as raven and thor.

Not a fan of the widow mines. Spider mines were so much more exciting. These seem about as risky as seeker missile. The timer is so long that even with 4-5 mines it's pretty easy to shift select + right click them away from the army... or into theirs.

If Blizzard manages to actually fix the many options Terran has that they all actually become useful i won't complain. If they stay like they're now giving me tons of options where most of them are totally crappy ain't doing it.

BC only works against bio. Doesnt effect tanks.

That unit make no-sense - if it can actually fight zealots it will melt zerglings and get promptly nerfed as a result.
With no answer to zealot/templar/archon (or at least some macro mechanics allowing mobility to counter the new recall) mech still looks useless vs P.

Oh that's good because I was hoping for more viable units in the PvP late game.

But in all seriousness, I'm curious to see what niche the tempest actually fits. The range is clearly too long when it gets upgraded to 47 (24? 22? whatever), it doesn't have any spells or decent abilities (like splash), and it doesn't really shoot so quickly that it can do anything exciting micro-wise... it seems decently strong, but it's expensive and high tech so I don't think Protoss can afford to really make it a backbone unit. Looking forward to seeing innovation with it ^^ The range needs to get patched though (and I'm Protoss x.x).
