The game already having stupid crap like this is no excuse to keep adding more. I'd be all for removing FF, Fungal, Concussive Shell, and any other anti-micro ability. Or at the very least putting stuff like that on expensive, high-tech units, with high energy costs (aka Arbiters with Stasis in BW).

Also, removing Sentries would also mean removing Warpgate and possibly Colossi, so it's a huge win for everyone.


Yep. Not sure why they wouldn't change fungal so that it doesn't completely inhibit movement or that warping units further away onto the battlefield (as a % of the map) takes more time than it would at a closer point. Furthermore, if concussive shell was removed, there goes much of Terrans strength in the early game. Everyone is happy.

Why?

Mothership Core and Oracle.

For the mothership core: 2 abilitys are very dangerous for Bioplay: Energy remax (i won't even mention Hight templars...) and Recall, no need to go further in explanations for this. =)

For the Oracle: this Horrible IMBA thing (Love it, really, can't understand the toss who won't use them in EVERY game! I'll be sad not seeing them in my TvP...) have 2 abilitys to deny our macro mechanic.
First: Stop mining = MMM is mineral heavy, and can't use his gas after 2.5/3 bases. Using defensive units in combination with our own harassing units is not a good thing when you play with papermade army. If not, we'll have less minerals.
Second: Cloack: Forces Scan or Raven. Raven kill the mobility of MMM, so; his only advantage right now. And scan, it kills potential mineral bank.

Combination of theses two units make resplenish bioarmy more harder: we'll need to use our gas, and now that Reapers won't fit into a standard MMM combination (No speed, Self healing, and i think damage reduced against Light.? See tvz video.). We'll need another way.

As a current mech player in TvP, honestly i'll be glad of all changements we'll have. Current added units may be really cool for metagame and dynamic. Altrough i'm very disappointed of no microable units, no shredder (make it a building like Zerg spines = no drop in menral lines) and the skins of widow mines and warhound.

Aniway, one thing to note is the RANGE 13 of the mothership core canons, like Tanks ! I bet it'll be a really good defense against 1/1/1, so: Bli² will not need to keep Tank in it's current state, especially seeing all theses tank-killa they added in the game. Probably the old 70 damages will take a come back in HoTS.


Well, the Oracle's mineral block will most likely affect mech play more negatively than bio play since mech is immobile, so it may prove harder and take longer to destroy the mineral blocks.

I agree with you about the Cloak. I've always thought Terran's detection is pretty weak and the Raven is such a clunky unit. If only they buffed Raven speed and gave it more HSM range, I would be happy.

I dont know about the microability of the warhound, but it seems to be a fast , low health and high damage unit.
Probably needs to be microed to be cost effective.

Battle hellions are very interesting. Move hellions into small chokes behind mineral lines and transfer a few of them into battlemode.
Also, the problem of how many hellions that should be in battle mode is interesting. Fast hellions are good to clean up after a battle but in a full on engagement it might be a better idea to transform some of them as a shield.
Then again , it might be wise to keep a few in standard mode for kiting and junk.

edit: and the mine has the potential for terrans to control space as in Brood War. Basically every terran with a BW background has been screaming for this. Changes to terran are enough imo.

I don't think they're low health, they have 220 HP, which seems pretty decent to me. They can survive a widow mine blast, which seems quite significant. From everything anyone has said who has actually played the game, the Warhounds seems to be a fun, powerful seeming microable unit. I think people are just having a negative reaction to it because they don't like the artwork, so they automatically scream "this unit is so bad, a-move, no terran late game, I hate it etc." without any kind of information on how it actually plays out. Remember, guys, all we have seen is that one video, unless I somehow missed a TvP battlereport.


Agreed, the health for 2 supply is HUGE. We all know how efficient 150 HP for a 2 supply zealot is. This is fucking OVER 200 fucking HP xD. The HP is good for terran cost wise too.

Warhound should be able to hit air, the original idea about replacing thor with warhounds was good idea. I hope they return to original warhound.

I don't like that your main base now shows how many workers are working there ...
this is another detail which makes the game easier - which isn't to good for esports imo

Not looking good for terran, though that was to be expected.
I realy loved playing marine tank medivac drop, or mm.
And it was the only thing i could play decently after 2 years of practice lol.
Hope it is still viable.
Not looking forward to have to learn something completely different, will try though,

Really enjoying watching the current build so far. I love that Blizzard decided to have massive range on the Tempest! No more protoss balling!!! I am loving the micro struggle between Tempests and Vipers; protoss keeping the tempest at a range so it can attack vipers and swarm hosts at a safe range, while the zerg looks for the right moment to pull a tempest into range and kill it. Such a massive improvement to ZvP! The matchup is actually fun to watch and fun to play!

Lets stop beating around the bush just change hellions into vultures and give the vultures the mines. I mean the hellion is more boring then the vulture and now they add mines to terran your practically doing the same thing as a vulture in a less interesting way.
I think most of the new changes and units are kind of gimmicky much like force fields were. Blocking minerals sounds cool but it should be a slow effect on a mineral patch so you can micro scvs to other patches or something to avoid it. Again you cant add an ability that just removes interesting micro and skill from other player.
