It's not quite that simple. Figuring it out within a certain margin of error for Master/Grandmaster is one thing, but for the rest of the ladder it's going to require an enormous amount of data collection. The ladder as a whole is still pretty effectively obfuscated.

Well you guys are doing a sterling job - I can't wait to see the results of your efforts. I fully expect TL to spotlight this as this is potentially huge, and you'll get a pile of data to work with! :D

It will do so automatically at the end of every match provided you leave the option enabled in the plugin configuration.
I figured you submitted it automatically, just wanted to validate. I will install it when i get home ! I'm a High plat player, so hopefully my data helps !
Thanks for spending the time to make an plugin, if you do you need any help developing let me know i am a software developer

shows i have 0/0 valid games ?

Will install the next time I log on, thanks for the huge effort!

This obsession over MMR is ridiculous. You're playing mostly mid-plat players....guess what? You're pretty much on the level of a mid-plat player! What more do you need to know? It's not like there's a conspiracy to hold you back from the level that you, in your mind, believe that you "truly belong at."

Is there any way to check old replays or do I absolutely have to have it running? Because I dont like to keep any programs running when I stream except for the game.
Great job btw =)

Your insightful post has really showed us all the error of our ways. The creators of this tool will immediately abandon their (pointless) work, and this thread will undoubtedly die immediately. You have shown us the truth! Thank you so much!

Great job btw =) Assuming this plugin just listens to events raised by SC2Gears, any system impact should be negligible - the footprint of SC2Gears is pretty small, and if you have features such as the "on-top APM" and mouse print recording disabled it really should not impact your system at all during games
An awesome replay save template, if anyone is interested:
\/f\/Y\/f /T - /m - </p(/r)>./e
Gives replays in the format: (yes, it organises replays into subfolders!)
\1v1\AutoMM\1v1 ZvT - Cloud Kingdom LE - Hairy(Z) vs MaTW(T).SC2Replay

LOL your right im a mid plat player ! knowing my MMR does not change that BUT if i do know the MMR i do know if i'm slowing getting better or worse !
Wanting to track information about your play does not hold you back, without the information i would be blindly trying to improve on things, with statistical information i KNOW what i need to work on.
Anyways this post is off topic, i cant wait to install the plugin !

I love the exact gradations of acceptable frivolity in some people's minds. It's totally fine to while away hours and hours playing a video game, reading about strategy on TL, watching GSL, etc. But wanting to pin down how ladder works and quantify MMR, whoa buddy, don't you have better things to do? What's with the MMR obsession?
Ironically, of course, doing statistical calculations, making inferences, writing programs to automate it, is actually a much more practical endeavor than sharpening your ZvP builds.

Great tool! Thx a lot!
Is there a possibility to add several accounts? At the moment it looks like you can add only one bnet profil page.

The plugin needs to be running for it to function properly. The problem with using old replays is that you and/or your opponents have (most likely) played games since the game in the replay was played. Since there's no way to look at a player's match history and infer his adjusted points X games ago this would not work using just replays. Even figuring out how many adjusted points your opponent had at the beginning of your game is tricky if your opponent wins the match, due to bonus pool getting added to the adjusted points change in his match history.

In this case, you should probably write in the OP that this applies to new matches only - you cannot use any of your old matches to calculate MMR. Well, I have the plugin installed and going on my system! Just need to find some time to play some games to test it out!
As a side note, I'm surprised (and slightly disappointed) this isn't spotlighted already! GOGO TL! The more visibility this gets the more data you guys get, and the more likely it is we end up with a fully-fledged mod that automatically calculates MMR! Which would be very cool.
