"Protoss at the pro-level are doing well, but not at the very top of the pro-level." Eh what? 5 toss in r of 8 in GSL. GSL is the very top of Pro-level. Blizzard still not in touch. Like the zerg changes, seem cool. And I'm a T.

It's not a map change, they just used Antiga and applied the balance changes...

Why the hell did they make it 2v2? I cant test 1v1 against random people if the map is set to 2v2!

Yay another possible Protoss buff.

Is it even worth sacrificing 100 free minerals / 270 quicker minerals for an observer kill anymore? (Situations like observer blink stalker all-in aside)

EDIT: It's also very stupid that they acknowledge this is meant for pro level yet the test sample will be mostly non-pros.

I'm pretty sure it's still worth it... Observers are more than money sinks and killing them really gimps Protoss' ability to make tactical decisions.

Have you played against Parting's style where he makes like 4 observers? Gimping his vision of a small part of the map isn't going to help.

All of this is just gonna enable Protoss to play even more greedy.

Did you read the post? The only changes are overlord speed, queen starting energy, and observer build time. There are no changes to the map layout or spawns of Antiga.

On topic -- this seems like a really cool idea from Blizzard, testing changes in the live client using custom maps instead of the PTR (honestly, I was too lazy to ever download the PTR and play on it). I'd like to see some pros try it out, my initial reaction is that the buffs for Zerg are too strong. TvZ is very finely balanced at the moment (at least according to international pro stats in April), and I think this will push Zerg over the top. Seems like if Zerg can get super fast creep spread without a 3rd queen, and get much better scouting early on, Zerg will be almost too safe in the early game against Terran.

You can play it 1v1, but if you go to join a game/create a game and its public, you wont be able to do 1v1. You can play with other people from TL/from a chat channel, but not against random people.

I'm assuming that queen energy buff is intended for ZvT, however I can definitely see it throwing off the balance of ZvP and making +1 timing attacks of all types from Protoss after FFE taking a big hit with that extra queen energy.

I like the live test map compared to a PTR, though I worry that map balance might be a bit of a problem if this is how they want to do all their testing.

The energy change is massive, I don't know if that will go through, air harassment PvZ is already pretty ineffective ever since the spore change, so every queen spawning with a free creep tumor seems like overkill.

The overlord change I think is good, hopefully it doesn't have some crazy side-effects on close-air positions, there's a risk the combined changes will make zergs a bit too bullet proof but I think everyone would prefer other changes that make it easier to pressure rather than just making it difficult to scout.

The observer change is nice, I'll take 10 second on scouting for a cloaked banshee any day of the week, though this continues to make hallucination more and more irrelevant.

I'm sorry when was the last time a toss player won GSL or made any noise in the GSTL? Not only that, but Toss has been a pretty big let-down in MLG lately too.

Are there really any zerg at the pro level that still fall to any early game all-in ? In which match up ?

We want to make creep spread a little bit easier to counter hellions in ZvT.

Same, I don't see why creep spread should counter hellion. It has been a long time since a hellion has killed a single drone in a pro game... And the goal of hellions is to deny a 3rd to quickly like in the ZvP matchup... What their goal, make Z able to drone like crazy until 80 drones then max at 11 minutes, and this without any threat ?

50 energy seems like a lot, BUT it means right off the bat, better players are going to be able to play a lot better than average players if they keep up with the creep spread. Honestly stuff like this that increases the skill gap is fine with me. Overlords being faster is also cool because it makes better play more rewarding also ^^. Any changes that continue to develop the game's difficulty and nuance is alright with me.

[edit]
The early creep tumor might be ridiculous, but keep in mind they want to make it easier for zerg to defend early game. Right now its really tedious against hellions and/or Protoss pressure sometimes.

DT rush less powerful -- from a pvp POV. Also, no terran nerf = buff. LOL

Faster overlord speed might work, but I feel like because zerg has the easiest time tech switching, easier scouting means they can more easily shift their whole build to counter what T and P do. I always thought that's one reason why overlords had to be so slow.

50 energy I just can't agree with. The creep spread will just be insane.

The observer buff seems out of the blue (has anyone ever complained about the build time?). I don't think protoss needs better scouting, or really anything at all at this point in the game.

I'm always bothered when they introduce buffs/nerfs completely unrelated to the things people talk about.

I love the Queen's additional mana, now it can heal aswell. However, it feels really imba. I wish I am wrong though.

The queen Energy buff seems to much. And is there buff to terran? just asking And no love for overseer? Why make the observer less build time? it will make Blink-stalkers more hard to stop and give toss complete map control by scattering more of these on the map since it is quick to build.
