Yeah, but the Terrans in here are arguing that they're having trouble keeping up with the Protosses and Zergs in the lower leagues.

An honest Terran player would tell you it's because his race isn't challenging enough for him. Pretty much most Terran players feel this way. Random players too; when they get Terran, they say it's much easier to win than with Zerg or Protoss. If I just a-move I'll win, they say. Like T3 units are even relevant to the Terran race, as opposed to requiring them as Zerg or Protoss!
Frankly, we should nerf Terran more. Or buff Zerg. Or buff Protoss. Letting Terran win everything isn't fun for those of us playing a real race. Someone at Blizzard needs to step up and make Terran more of a challenge.

I loved Terran, I still have the marine BG on my phone and desktop, I us a marine mousepad, but I play as zerg. I got to low plat as terran in about 4 seasons. Then I cut back my playing by like 75% and switched to zerg and I got top 1 in my plat division in like 1 week. I'm so astounded. Maybe I just fit more with zerg but my skill didn't rise, I physically or mentally didn't get any better at starcraft but my rank shot up without any input of effort. It felt so wrong. I have so much more respect for terrans now so I cringe every time I just roll over them with baneling a-move. Also I can't say I miss frantically studderstepping vs chargelots, now I just have to macro and throw enough units at them till I win.

WTF, I switched from terran b/c its too hard! I thought most people were of the consensus that Terran is the hardest race to play. Thats why only Koreans ever have success at it! Notice how few major tournaments ever have been won by non-korean terrans? Terran requires the most micro by far.

Isn't this exactly what it was like in Brood War?

I'm not sure how that's relevant.
I'm not saying they're right either.
I'm just saying what they're saying.

Lol... This thread is funny...
bunch of people waxing over the good ol' days when Terran used to be good... yet... they still make up 50% of the GSL and still bring home more trophies than either of the other races...

Yeah, because we are discussing GSL level Terrans in this thread, right? Just make the effort of reading the OP before posting.

Just adding the needed information for you, so the trolls won't come up with "GSL is filled with Terrans argument".
Well, in BW it is a consensus, nobody really cares about it though. Protoss players won't get butthurt with this. It is just pretty much given (since Blizzard won't add anything to the game - thank God) and everyone just picks the race they like best.
In SC2 though, Blizzard can still change a lot of things, so most Protoss players try to deny it by all means. You see, if the community get to the consensus that Terran is harder at lower levels, people will ask Blizzard to level things up in future expansions (since they can't do anything about that in WoL). Non-terran players want to keep the status quo, so they have to deny it by all means. That's why you see DarkPlasmaBall come up with that kind of sarcastic post. LoL.
In my opinion, the game has other bigger issues. Deathball syndrome, too limited gameplay, too limited units (think about the viking-colossus relationship), etc., but this is not the thread to discuss this.

Other than that, I love playing terran and I find tvz and tvp to be both fair and fun. Thankfully there aren't very many terrans nowadays. judging from your statements i guess your not higher than diamond. I'm masters. PM me your information and I'll be happy to play against you.
Your statement is still stupid. TvT is the one matchup where the better player will usually win barring certain coinflips(but faaaar superior to the other matchups).

I would say that denial runs strong in both terran and protoss. I remember when protoss were getting steamrolled by terrans 6 months at all stages of the game and everyone was telling us to get better. Not saying that there isn't a problem with terran right now, because there likely are some issues, just like protoss did.
That is really the main problem with this thread. Its not the phrase "crap, I can't beat protoss late game, I have no idea what to do" No one has a problem with that. Its is when it breaks down down to "Damn it, I can't beat protoss late game, even though I am so much better than my opponent. All protoss I lose to are worse than me, but I play terran so I lose". Would anyone expect a different response from protoss players and to say "Um...no"?

Yeah, they make up really close to 30%, with the exception of platinum league, where they drop to 27%.(from the last information that was posted in this thread.

I don't think all the protoss's I lose to are worse than me. I lose to all races that are both better and worse. I think it's absolutely stupid though that Protoss can reinforce instantly so I can lose almost 100% if I lose a battle near my main and there's a pylon there. I think it's stupid that charge, an attack move skill forces a lot of micro out of me, which tasks my multi-tasking cause zealots at 3/3 do stupid amounts of damage and take stupid amounts of damage. On top of that, a bio army which dies when looked at by any AoE means I need to be pretty much perfect in each engagement, drop/nuke the protoss so his bank actually will get smaller whenever he reinforces and dodge/emp pretty much perfectly. And even if I do that, if I take a storm and lose my army, I'll just lose right there.
So I have no idea how to beat Protoss at this moment.
Actually, to clarify a bit - I think Terran has many more things that if we don't do, we will lose to Protoss a lot more in late game. Of the things that I think Protoss needs to do to survive in a Plat/Diamond level, is make sure to always add on gates, make sure upgrades are going, and don't move your entire army to defend drops. That's it, as long as you do these things, you can probably beat any Terran at those levels cause we don't have the mechanics (unit control, multi-tasking, etc) at that level to win against Protoss. If you say "get better mechanics" then you're completely missing the point cause it'll never be favored towards Terran in late game.

Well, the truth is, wether you agree or not, many people are switching races and getting better results (just like Luepert). It's only logical that if you switch and do better, you won't come back to the previous race.
About the I'm playing better and still losing. I guess the more accurate notion would be: "I'm doing more things and still losing". I guess by your definiton whoever wins played better, so yeah, in that sense playing better and losing is impossible lol.

Blizcon:
Protoss having problems vs mutas, in HoTS we'll introduce tempest. Meanwhile in WoL we'll buff phoenix's.
Terran having problems vs chargelots, HoTS we'll give you battlehellions. Good luck in the meantime tho. I don't think you understand how RTS expansions work. Everyone will 100% be playing the new game because it's the newer version of the game. People still playing WoL are essentially saying they want to play on a previous patch. Saying you're gonna stay in WoL is the equivalent of saying you're going to keep playing patch 1.0.0 or what not...that's not how RTS works. You play the latest version of the game, and HOTS will be the latest version of the game.
Wait.... what??
I hope you mean that somewhat figuratively. They're going to have separate ladders for each expansion, as I'm sure you know... Playing WoL after HotS is more like playing Vanilla SC1 after BW, except imagine that Vanilla SC1 is not an incomplete mess of a competitive game.
Maybe you mean the community is going to shift to HotS? Well, yes of course, but people will still play WoL and Blizzard said they would continue to support it, and will continue to acknowledge it and support it as the primary game for as long as it takes them to un-break HotS balance and gameplay.
With the extreme probable differences between WoL and HotS I would say continuing on WoL is much different than picking say Patch 1.2.2 and starting up a private server to play it on.
