I believe it was even on state of the game with destiny, day9, jp, and nony if anyone wants to dig that up in the vods Maybe incontrol said "don't ever use the word "nigger" to bm people or you will be fired from EG"?

Incontrol used the word in a discussion calling for the disappearance of the word in the starcraft community. Quite different...

Never said anything horrid when hiding under the veil of internet anonymity? Have you never been an angsty teenager? Your actions should have consequences, I agree, but we shouldn't be casting any stones. he now has time again to be an "angsty teenager" and can rage as much as he wants. But theres a difference between being a teenager and a "professional".

This whole scenario is a tragedy that shows how the SC2 community can't handle drama.

This isn't the FGC; We're pretty much the most professional acting of the eSports communities, he should be more than fine at live events. Don't act like you know the FGC. If anything, you'd be safer in the FGC. He didn't just call his friends the N word, he was using the N word to intend harm. That is a lot more different than casually using the N words with your accepting friends. I mean hell, I know people who call their gay friends fags in a playful way, and neither parties give a shit.

Oh, wait, it's only about black people since Alex is a black studies major. Carry on.

Doesn't matter, the Starcraft community is full of double standards. Naniwa gets utterly slung through the mud and yet Stephano gets a free pass for doing equally bad things. Just reading some of the Reddit/TL community posts just make me want to die laughing. They want to scene to become more professional and yet aren't willing to take the extra step in order to do so. Except, they want to enforce "professionalism" on everyone despite the fact that the scene is still extremely immature in alot of respects.

I find it hard to believe that you previously didn't understand that calling someone a nigger would upset anyone. But also good apology. Glad this has been settled lol

Money talks, EG thought it would be bad press for them so they got rid of him. Could have just said so.

Saying "nigger" to (or directly about) a black person with the express intent of evoking the racially charged history of the word while harboring feelings of hatred/bigotry towards said ethnicity makes you a racist. Im not going to discuss this "he not racist by saying the word nigger". A 23-year old should start thinking about the vocabulary he uses. Either he didnt think about it, and hes simply stupid. Otherwise hes racist. Both situations disqualify him as a representative of a community (imho).

Just own what you said, say I'm sorry, I don't feel that way and move on. Don't challenge people to argue about how you feel. From the community, forgetting is what I dream of, forgiveness is what I hope for, but understanding is what I need. Based on the previous sentence I quoted, I seriously doubt this is your own material. It's just as much bullshit, however. Did you get this from some public relations book, or did Geoff tell you to say this ? Again, apologize, ask for forgiveness in time, and move on. Stupid shit like this is irritating.
