True! I wonder why, and they are so famous
SOTG has nothing to do with EG, and Destiny isn't a EG employee.
IdrA has, believe or not, mellowed out. And IdrA is more valuable. But I've never hear IdrA drop n-bombs anywhere.
idra has wished personal death on MANY people, which is just as bad if not worse.
also both of them still represent this community. idra being a very popular pro player and destiny being a extremly popular streamer. also it doesnt matter if idra has "mellowed out". fact of the matter is orb is thousands of times more tamed and mellowed out alot more then idra has. so why is orb hurting EG but idra isnt?
Idra is the most popular, polarizing player in SC2. Dropping him would be like the Lakers dropping Kobe. Or the Colts dropping Manning.
Does not change the fact that EG is using double standards, understanding so but in the end who are they to judge on others. Stupid mistake by Orb, either be 100% of the time profesional, or get a fanbase like Idra and you can say what you like, and offend anyone anyday without risk.
Has IdrA ever lied about any of his bm/profanities/etc? Specifically when EG has made a statement saying that they believed him?
To me this is the biggest fault of orb, if he had've just admitted it immediately I think it would have all blown over. Do you really expect him to get away with making his employers look like fools by backing him when he was blatantly lying?
Actualy yes, he could have got away with it with a warning or short suspention at most, people how ever complained to sponsors, wich made EG react to the extreme messurement it did.
You also have to figure in IdrA's contract situation. If he has a lucrative, guaranteed contract, there's very little to gain from dropping him unless he goes Rush Limbaugh crazy on the world.

You can do awesome work for years, have one smudge on your record and people start hating you. Sad times we live in TeamLiquid, sad times indeed.
What does Liquid have to do with it ? Specialy the Team. All this came to light on Reddit, don't be talking out of your ass.
I'm not referring to the team itself, calm down. I was referring to the communities reaction. Take a chill pill.
Then say it correctly, it was only posted here as a result what happend on Reddit. And i am all chill.
No, that reply was aggressive. I did post it correctly. You jumped to an assumption. I am aware of the entire back story. I never even said Teamliquid had anything to do with this fiasco. I said "sad times we live in TeamLiquid" Did I say "oh gosh TeamLiquid you guys are so wrong and bad"? No, I did not.
No your whining after you post something that made no sense at all, and now your offended. But considering this is the internet you can't lose face and now reply even more nonsense. If you think that was aggressive, i wish you the best of luck with your future posts and it reply's they are going to get.
No, I elaborated because you couldn't seem to understand a simple statement. No one else had a problem reading what I posted. Judging from half of the comments I've seen you post on this thread and others I've run across you have a superiority complex. You should get that checked out.
dude, you didn't kill anybody but please grow up. in my opinion the thing you did wasn't as rude but very immature. just have fun with the game and stop raging on ladder like a silly kid. gl in the future orb

there are a thousand other casters who can do a better job than you; hopefully a more deserving person will fill your slot
People who rub salt into a wound after someone publicly apologizes are the worst kind of people. Do you have any Idea how hard it is to make a public apology to thousands? Back to the dungeons with you.
You don't have to agree with what he said but Jesus man, you need to talk down to him even after he apologizes?
Edit: I wanted to add something to this post due to something many of the responses have been touching on. Many people think that the fact that I have used this awful word in the past means that the first screenshot submitted was in fact myself, and that I lied to the community. This is simply not true. The first screenshot submitted, that I claimed was not me, was in fact not me. My original story still stands, the difference is that as soon as that screenshot came out on reddit, everyone started scrubbing through replays against me and all of my vods, searching for something to prove I am in fact racist. Thus the screenshots from statements I made 1+ year ago surfaced on reddit. Notice as soon as the first of these screenshots was released, I immediately owned up and apologized (as seen here). All of the evidence of me using the N word (which again, was 100% wrong by me) was from old screenshots/vods way before I was even talking to the EG guys, let alone representing them. Sorry for the confusion, I hope this clears up the issue with my perceived "dishonesty." Note in Alex Garfield's statement the supposed "lying" wasn't even an issue, rather just my actions and poor judgement. As for the lateness in my final apology here and the accusations that I am only doing it now that EG has fired me, I was actually told specifically by EG management not to make any statements (on twitter, teamliquid, or reddit) until they had decided what to do about it and made their own statement. Sorry for this causing any doubt for people as to whether or not my apology is sincere!
I simply don't buy this. Your as bad as a small child. Just own up to what you did.
Well, I hope you learned from this. Honestly everything would have been much better if you had just owned up and apologized in the first place, but that didn't happen so here we are.
Really unfortunate Orb that you are a scapegoat but language like that is unacceptable no matter what and I hate the childish nature of some gamers at times who excuse these words as anger. Using words like this in order to offend is unacceptable for anyone let alone someone associated with an organisation that has such a lot of sponsorships. But hopefully this will serve as a lesson learned to all the community that this kind of language is unacceptable and we are all better than this. Good luck in the future.

Whilst I think EG made the correct call, what you wrote above is wrong. Your casting is entertaining and insightful - you are a good caster.
Whilst the incidents of the past few days have dealt you a blow you can definitely work your way back up, and I hope you do.
Not feeling sorry for you at all Orb. It's not like you have acted like this once or twice. I used to watch your stream in beta/early SC2 days.
This is however the first time it has been brought up to this level. It's all good that you come here and write a statement but honestly, I'm tired of seeing "I'm sorry" statements AFTER people get fired.
You're an intelligent person and you should have stopped BM that way long time ago. If you ever felt the need to apologize you should have done that long time ago.
A statement like this at this point is too late...I'm just not buying it.
Ridiculous. Rich white guy in his office is super offended by the word nigger. He probably feels bad his grandparents had nigger slaves.
Guys, we are on the internet. Majority white, people troll. Its a competitive game, and sometimes you talk shit, people talk shit in different ways. Orb went with nigger. Bad choice I guess but to let him go so soon, just after he signed a contract and moved in is way too harsh. Action could have been taken to fix this, you lost out on the better casters around.

All you nerds who honestly don't even care about someone who uses the N word go and create drama against orb to get him fired from EG. This happened over 6 months ago, before he even became apart of EG and you're bringing it up to screw the kid over. You guys are fuckin retarded and the worst part is EG's CEO is retarded in believing that the community feels offended at all by this. I never watched orb or knew who he was until this happened, then i realized he was the caster for one of the tournaments I watched and he did a mighty fine job. So sad to see shit like this happen. Nice to see double standards considering idra hasn't received shit from the CEO besides a few harmless words. It would be understandable if this occurred during orb's employment.
I agree 100% I have always loved orb when he casts, fucking embarrasing he gets fired over this. Lose respect when people use it in a bad place, not when he is playing a game over the fucking internet.
You can and will get fired for behavior that reflects poorly on a company if it's made public and you're a representative of that company. The lying certainly doesn't help his integrity in that area, either.

Guys, things you say can't reflect poorly upon you! You don't have to be responsible on the internet!
What the Hell kind of fucked up double standard of behavior makes it okay to say things with a veneer (and in orbs' case no) of anonymity that you would never say to someone's face?
you moved in and now you move out; that was quick... best of luck honestly; should have played on a smurf :/ and thought twice before dropping such words.

I agree. We are not idiots. This sounds just dumb. Even if it were true, why were you letting other people use your account, which people know is you, and why do they type the same (similar words and punctuation) as you? Even if it is true, it seems that you have lost the credibility of people to believe you by your actions.
I am not hating on you Orb, I still think you are a good caster, but don't insult our intelligence anymore.
Overall, this is not about the idea of speech and racism for me. This is just about the lying and stupid decisions. Whether or not you think what he said was wrong, the fact is we live in a world where it is just dumb to say those things when you are a public figure, even a small-time one. Then to attempt to throw your friend under the bus, show horrible decisions by claiming that you let other people use your public account, then squeezing out what sounds more and more like a fake apology to try and save face, then to continue to claim that it was someone else's fault. It just screams of immaturity.
I am not one to refuse you a second chance, but I have no issue with EG's decisions either. I just hope you learn and grow as a person and find out that people in general are not idiots.
I still believe you really did nothing wrong. Everybody has had moments where they rage and say things that they do not mean out of pure frustration (maybe even sheth). The fact of the matter is some people on reddit just wanted to ruin your career for no reason at all except maybe jealousy. EG did nothing wrong, they have to protect their business model and sponsers, you did nothing wrong other than some standard BM that EVERYBODY does. Only wrong doing was those shallow reddit people who love a witch hunt.
