Idra is the most popular, polarizing player in SC2. Dropping him would be like the Lakers dropping Kobe. Or the Colts dropping Manning.

You guys are fuckin retarded and the worst part is EG's CEO is retarded in believing that the community feels offended at all by this. I never watched orb or knew who he was until this happened, then i realized he was the caster for one of the tournaments I watched and he did a mighty fine job. So sad to see shit like this happen. Nice to see double standards considering idra hasn't received shit from the CEO besides a few harmless words. It would be understandable if this occurred during orb's employment. Also, who are the mods around here because I see users getting warned for posting "wat wat" What kind of place is this? Didn't realize teamliquid was full of cocksucking fucks. This community is utter shit. Whoever owns this shit should reconsider what rules should be implemented. feels like im posting on a fascist forum or something. also, if anyone actually read the CEO's long ass post and takes side with him, fuck you. I like how before your edit you would've only gotten banned for martyrdom. Did you feel you needed to edit it to make it so that you were going to get banned for more than just that?

Dude, in my view its obvious that you were just venting, I've seen a lot worse than this. EG exaggerated with this, especially when it happened before you were signed.
fact is: They have lost a very very talented caster!

That makes me sad to hear that the pitchforks have won once again . r/starcraft is becoming such a negative community, I wish we (im a redditor as well) were more focused on a actually creating things and improving the scene than try to destroy someone carreer when they do even the slightest mistake. What Orb said was stupid, and if he had done it again after this controversy he would have deserved to be fired, but in my opinion loosing his work because of a 6 month old mistake is really unfaire.

Of course it doesn't justify his actions. It just makes it harder to get rid of him.

Best of luck going forward

I'll forgive you. IMHO not that big of a deal and for sure everyone gets it that you're not a member of KKK. Things have just gotten out of control because people like to hate. Hope you will be casting soon enough. Everyone gets mad sometimes.
It's stupid to say that orb is a hates blacks because he used a N word in a internet game. Geez, people should just chill out a little bit.

As for the lateness in my final apology here and the accusations that I am only doing it now that EG has fired me, I was actually told specifically by EG management not to make any statements (on twitter, teamliquid, or reddit) until they had decided what to do about it and made their own statement. Sorry for this causing any doubt for people as to whether or not my apology is sincere!
It sucks when companies tell you to sit tight while they're deciding to fire you. I do agree with the outcome, but because of the combination of lying, which AG denies, and the reasons given. I see how it could have otherwise deserved a slap on the wrist, yet I honestly feel this decision had more to do with business than ideals, even if I want to agree with the ideals aspect.
This is a life lesson many people learn. You aren't always judged by your intent, but on a "better safe than sorry" basis after just one or two stupid actions.

I forgive you, good luck in your future endeavors!

He was nerd raging in his own personal stream, actually I don't really think he needs to apologize for anything. He sticks by his word that it was indeed his friend, and lieing was the ONLY thing I could think of that could warrant an apology. And what proof is there that it was actually his friend? To be honest, if my friend did something like this, 2 things would happen: 1) My friend would immediately own up in several different public forums claiming it was him, friends have your back when you're in trouble... And if a friend, someone you let on your $60 account, doesn't know that you're a community member of SC2, it doesn't sound like he's a friend and more like just some random guy, and if that's the case... probably shouldn't let him use your account. 2) This simply would not happen. I would not be friends with someone who has 0 respect for the things he borrows (sc2 account in this case). Sorry, there is just no way I can see him telling the truth. Too many coincidences, you can spin it whatever way you want (taught him hotkeys, taught him build orders similar to mine, we both have a fond use of the word nigger whenever we're upset on the SC2 ladder...), but at the end of the day until this friend comes forward and admits he did it, and provides some proof that he's actually not just some random dude Orb knows IRL, this shouldn't be forgiven any time soon. Lying to employers is a very serious thing. People are so fucking caught up on the "racism" it's so stupid. Be caught up on the fact that he lied to his employer. There is no way you can see him telling the truth? Why not? What possible motivation could he have for lying at this point about it? That he said it previously is a fact. If anything if he admitted to it before this all blew up that would have been good. Instead he has stuck to that story. Personally I believe it. At this point he is already fired and disgraced, there is absolutely NO reason to lie anymore. And how do you know this guy is a good enough friend to come forward and admit it at this point? Or as Orb said he shares it with a "few" friends. Like any of them would admit which one did this and destroyed his career. It's certainly possible he doesn't know. Instead Reddit seized on this, completely blew up the topic, and ruined this chance because of something he did in the past + a bad decision on letting a friend borrow his account. Knowing reddit and r/sc I would find this much more likely than orb continuing to lie under this kind of pressure.
Several things:
1) No reason to lie anymore? Have you ever actually had a job O_O;? People look at reasons why you got fired... Especially in such a tight knit community as Starcraft. Some people may look past the "racism", but I for one would never, ever, ever eververeevrevrevrvev hire someone who straight up lied to me on a very serious issue that has major ramifications.
2) Did you even read his reddit post? He said it's his "friend from Florida".
3) Let's just say for the sake of your argument he didn't know this person he was sharing his account with that well... a) completely his fault, he's liable for anything that goes on on that account. b) maybe he shouldn't share things with people he doesn't know very well? Common rule of the real world...
Let's just hope he learned more than just not being a dick on the ladder. I really couldn't care less that he raged on the ladder, like I said before, people say shit they don't mean all the time, especially when they're upset. But if you're asked to tell the truth, especially to your employer, you fucking tell the truth, no matter how bad it's going to hurt you right then, because as the idiom goes "(lies) always come back to bite you".

It's stupid to say that orb is a hates blacks because he used a N word in a internet game. Geez, people should just chill out a little bit. People are more upset because: A: he doesn't find it as a serious offense to say derogatory terms
B: he lied to EG about the whole situation. to their faces.
C: he handled the whole situation quite poorly.
*edit: doesn't or I guess I should say Didn't... sorta think he gets it now.

Thoroughly gutted for you man! But it will make you a better person in the future and I'm sure you will come back strong <3

I said it in Alex's thread, I'll say it here. I think we all know you had no desire to invoke the full weight of the words you were using. So you are forgiven in my book, you're a great caster and it's good to have you in the community.

Poor guy. I hope we all manage to forget this incident. Why the hell did people message the sponsors though? That makes everything worse. Stupid thing to do really. I'm more pissed at the people who did that than orb.

Best of luck Orb, you're a great caster. What people don't seem to realize is that casters do a lot for the community. You can do awesome work for years, have one smudge on your record and people start hating you. Sad times we live in TeamLiquid, sad times indeed.

Does not change the fact that EG is using double standards, understanding so but in the end who are they to judge on others. Stupid mistake by Orb, either be 100% of the time profesional, or get a fanbase like Idra and you can say what you like, and offend anyone anyday without risk.
