It's the internet, people say a lot of shit that isn't them, and you have to remember that a lot of shit happens when you are playing a COMPETITIVE game and trash talk is just kind of part of the scene. This is the downside to money being involved with things, sponsors are paranoid about image, and this kind of stuff makes them shit their pants every five minutes. It is a shame this actually happened, especially since I have played against Orb and watched his stream a ton, he rages, we all do. As for the idea of racism, it is a weird thing to begin with, and while the idea of going through an entire social debate sounds fun, it is ultimately pointless because people just are entrenched in their views and refuse to see basic logic. While calling people a faggot, or using the "N" word are obviously bad to say, they are taken out of context. The "N" word for example is used between african americans and is accepted, but is not interracially accepted. The word has grown out of its literal meaning that it had decades ago, and is now a generic term just like faggot is to display annoyance or anger towards a person, it is in no way literally persecuting those people. Some will say that it is, but honestly they are just crying and looking to create trouble. Racism is only there because people get upset about it; if we all just stop over reacting over something that is quite literally A WORD, and focus on actions, we can finally evolve as a human race. Honestly, this is the internet, it may be a little vulgar and rough at times, but we all need to grow some thicker skin and learn that just because someone calls you a faggot, doesn't mean anything against you personally, he is just annoyed and venting. | ||

I think that Alex's opinion on words like the N word is not fully correct. I agree that the way Orb used it was completely inappropriate but when you apply gross meaning to racial slurs in general you give them more value than they should have. I wasn't there to see the counterstrike example but there are situations where I would find the cs team having funny black names to not be racist, just funny. I doubt that Orb will be making a comeback as a paid caster for a while (if ever) but I would like to see him continue his casting and commentating. | ||

There is no way you can see him telling the truth? Why not? What possible motivation could he have for lying at this point about it? That he said it previously is a fact. If anything if he admitted to it before this all blew up that would have been good. Instead he has stuck to that story. Personally I believe it. At this point he is already fired and disgraced, there is absolutely NO reason to lie anymore. And how do you know this guy is a good enough friend to come forward and admit it at this point? Or as Orb said he shares it with a "few" friends. Like any of them would admit which one did this and destroyed his career. It's certainly possible he doesn't know. Instead Reddit seized on this, completely blew up the topic, and ruined this chance because of something he did in the past + a bad decision on letting a friend borrow his account. Knowing reddit and r/sc I would find this much more likely than orb continuing to lie under this kind of pressure. | ||

But there aren't many respected and public jobs in the world where you wouldn't get fired when there was proof you were drunk and calling people dumb niggers... Anyway, hopefully in 3 months, you can come back to the scene. I am pretty sure you worked really hard for that position as caster for EG. I feel sorry that it slipped away from you this soon. | ||
