Idra has acted just as bad while he was officially representing EG. Firing you for something you did over a year ago, while letting Idra off with an internal scolding for a far worse offence, is incredibly hypocritical.
Just remember that next time. You need to bring in more revenue before you can start acting how you want on EG...
If your going to say Idra is "far worse" bring some evidance. I have never seen Idra say "nigger". "faggot" sure.

A depressing turn of events, all these 'incidents' were from over a year ago and say nothing about how he acts now, who's to say he still uses that word when he is venting his anger? If he's changed his ways are we not going to accept his improvement as a justifiable reason to forget his past, as it should be?
Let's not forget too that he was only representing himself over a year ago, and may not have had the foresight to see that it would come back to haunt him. Especially as this is only a discussion about the word he used, since it is clear that Orb isn't racist (even Alex Garfield agreed on this). Is it then really fair to judge his PC'ness from a time when he didn't have to be PC?
We've all said some outlandish things in our past that we didn't mean, when we didn't have responsible or uphold any kind of image. I think we're forgetting the context of the problem and aren't properly considering whether things have changed from the past, if Orb doesn't act this way now when he is representing himself professionally, does it really matter what words he used in the past?

Don't worry orb hopefully this can be a new opportunity for you to learn and grown into a more awesome person.
And I don't think anybody thinks you are a racist.

Wow, its ridiculous how some people are easely offended. Does this mean that other people that BM cant cast either? If you look into ANYONE's past you WILL find BM shit, thats just how life is. If I had the opportunity to give the SC2 community one superpower it would be, with no doubt, "the ability to not get offended by stupid shit".
Overcome being easily offended
I found this site for all of you who does have a tendency to scream at every single foul word that comes out from anyone. I know this link might be abit provocative for some of you and I hope I didnt offend anyone with this post.
But seriously read the link.

This is however the first time it has been brought up to this level. It's all good that you come here and write a statement but honestly, I'm tired of seeing "I'm sorry" statements AFTER people get fired.
You're an intelligent person and you should have stopped BM that way long time ago. If you ever felt the need to apologize you should have done that long time ago.
A statement like this at this point is too late...I'm just not buying it.
He explained why the statement was late.
The only thing I still don't understand is how EG could throw a kneejerk reaction to this with Idra still on the team. It's so hypocritical it's depressing. I just feel sorry for Orb because he caught the shitty end of the stick (EG has little investment to lose with him).

Idra has made hateful comments while officially representing EG. Orb has made hateful comments a year before he worked with EG.
If they fire Orb, they should sue Idra into the ground, sue all his relative, haunt him untill the day he dies, and then piss on his grave.
(Hint: I don't think they should do either, but if people want to praise them for being consistent, they should be consistent)

I dont even understand why people are discussing this, I mean. This happened before he was with EG. When he was a player. sad to see some1 get fired for this

I have never once held any bit of racism in my heart, but it's understandable that when I wear some of it on my sleeve people assume it extends to my heart. Seldom have I read a more well worded and sincere apology, orb. While I personally avoid any words with racist implications, I understand your use of it not as a racist slur but as a general flame. On the other hand, an outrage about the usage of the n-word was about to happen in the sc2 community as we try to become mainstream. Sadly, you were the one to become the bad example (not saying though, that it wasn't in part your own fault).
The way I see it: What is done is done, let's move on! I really hope you keep casting/playing since I always enjoyed your streams and should there be any in the future, I surely will tune in. Good luck!

I wish Orb's friend who was responsible for the first screenshot would come and briefly make a statement, so that I don't need to read more about people not believing Orb's reaffirmed statement that it really wasn't him in the first screenshot.
But if anything, it wouldn't make sense for Orb to immediately admit and apologize about any other screenshots, and still repeatedly deny about that single screenshot, even after he lost everything that he could lose.

It is a lot of lessons learned. It teaches the community that they need to think things through more when something bad happens. It also teaches teams and people of higher positions that the community has the power to bend them if they don't hear our calls. Both sides learned lessons. And yes, it was worth getting a young man fired. He was too immature to handle such a powerful situation, that is his fault, not ours.

And many people have been beaten up and killed for being gay in the US and many other countries. Gays were rounded up and gassed the same way Jews were by the Nazis- where do you think the pink triangle first came from? You need to learn some history yourself. I'm not disputing that nigger is an offensive word but don't try and tell me that faggot isn't just as bad.
