I'm fine with people not paying for all of those options...except the one in 2nd place. I can't believe people think they are entilted to 20hrs of free entertainment from MLG when almost no other source of entertainment is free.

Are these people really so dumb to not support this for a measly $20????? Everyone knows starcraft is losing money atm. It is down to MLG and other leagues to find a way to monetize it otherwise the scene will quite simply collapse. Nobody is making money atm, and nobody can get big sponsors because there are no hard figures behind these kind of events. (Money talks, free stream viewers doesn't) Now MLG take the initiative to try to prove esports can work as a viable bussiness, and all these turds on here say they wont pay.... Well enjoy killing your own hobby idiots. I can't beleive how moderate Sundance is being about this. He has put on so many high quality events, that none of you assholes have ever paid for, and this is the thanks he gets for trying to get $20 for 5 STREAMS and HOURS of content. He even suggests pulling together with friends, or going to barcrafts. Jesus christ, starcraft doesn't deserve to succeed if its fanbase are so short minded as to not support this. Seriously this is so sad it is beyond words. I bet you guys wouldnt blink an eyelid at spening $20 for a new mouse/keyboard/game or even freaking pizza, now when the time coomes to truly support esports, you all can't be asked to spend your doritoes money on a company that has given you so much already for free. Think of any other sport, people pay the entry fee, they buy the merch, they spend money on food/drinks at the event.... and thats how the sport survives as a bussiness. You guys are so shortsighted its unbeleivable. /rant over TLDR; If you can't find $20 to support this, then dont complain when starcraft collapses in the west. It'll be on your head. If this fails, then esports fails. MLG can't continue making money like they have before, and If a company like MLG cant make money, then who the hell can? 20$ is NOT NOTHING for everyone, you talk like everyone can throw 20$ in pizzas, keyboards, whatever. Hey surprise it's not actually the case. I eat for a week for 20$ can you get that ? You're the one being a shortsighted jerk, If you want to throw 20$ to make you think " you're making e-sports grow " go ahead, but this is actually killing it.

bad business practice, i won't be watching. Normally they'd get like $5 from me watching all the ads on the free stream. now they wont get a cent.

Vieweres have to feel like they're getting a steal. Tons of free content and new, engaging stuff on stream to attract more viewers -->more/more prominent sponshorships. And on the weekend of Assembly of all things. Holy smokes.

![]() honestly, if you're in a position in your life where you can't spend 20 dollars on entertainment you like -- i don't know what else to tell you. i really really really cannot understand why people on this forum are so reluctant to pay for streams, like they are entitled to it

I never liked Sundance, he was just building goodwill so he could cash in. Don't forget, the winners of all last years MLG's only got 5k (until the Championship) SC2 doesn't need this kind of opportunism. Yeah it's terrible how SC2 has grown into something of a legitimate business. Too bad it couldn't stay unknown and neglected forever.

I understand people have different perceptions of the value of money, but no one living in the developed World can honestly say $20 for a three day tournament is a bank breaker. That is literally a few pints in a pub. "A few pints in a pub." Who's rich and spoiled now? These Americans and their willingness to blow money everywhere...I feel super Korean now.

I would honestly much rather see this. If MLG is making the community put their money where their mouths are then they should do the same. I don't particularly care for CoD, I might check out halo depending on halo 4, but there should be no reason I have to pay for CoD/Halo streams that I don't want to see.

Sad really real people in the Starcraft community to make you bigger than ever before then reach into their pockets great job. LOL, since when is trying to make a profit greed? Sundance tweeted that MLG has put more money into this than they have received, so what is wrong with trying to move forward to a more stable business model and actually make some money?

MLG`s production have been good so far concerning the games, allthought they have alot of downtime so I want to see what they can provide in between the games before I pay up. Best of luck anyways, hopefully many people will buy, or go to barcrafts!

MLG are trying for something more sustainable (although I saw 2GD saying Dreamhack was sustainable with no PPV at all, interested to see how that is possible) Probably because Dreamhack is not an esports event. It a big lan event with many different elements where esports is one only part of it as opposed to MLG and IEM that is all about esports. You can't compare them directly like that.
