Second is timezone, I know for a fact that I'm going to miss big part of it, it's 20 $ for 12 hours of content. Third, please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this an event without a crowd ? Because I'm sorry but the main reason I kept fucking up my sleep schedule was the incredible atmosphere during the event and it's not going to be the case here.

there needs to be another option to watch the event. For europeans MLG broadcast times are not that great, so I can only watch maybe half of the time anyway. Also my internet is pretty bad, I can't watch HD stream, let alone 5 at once... I love MLG and what they do, I had Silver Membership last year to access the extra streams and get rid of the ads (they screwed up my stream all the time because my internet is that bad). Please MLG, consider making a second package, that includes the main stream at standard def and some access to vods, so europeans can catch up, for a significantly lower price. I'd be willing to pay $5 just to be able to watch the event. But a lot of people can't use all of the stuff you include in your package, so they're very unlikely to pay $20 for it.

Are these people really so dumb to not support this for a measly $20????? Everyone knows starcraft is losing money atm. It is down to MLG and other leagues to find a way to monetize it otherwise the scene will quite simply collapse. Nobody is making money atm, and nobody can get big sponsors because there are no hard figures behind these kind of events. (Money talks, free stream viewers doesn't) Now MLG take the initiative to try to prove esports can work as a viable bussiness, and all these turds on here say they wont pay.... Well enjoy killing your own hobby idiots. I can't beleive how moderate Sundance is being about this. He has put on so many high quality events, that none of you assholes have ever paid for, and this is the thanks he gets for trying to get $20 for 5 STREAMS and HOURS of content. He even suggests pulling together with friends, or going to barcrafts. Jesus christ, starcraft doesn't deserve to succeed if its fanbase are so short minded as to not support this. Seriously this is so sad it is beyond words. I bet you guys wouldnt blink an eyelid at spening $20 for a new mouse/keyboard/game or even freaking pizza, now when the time coomes to truly support esports, you all can't be asked to spend your doritoes money on a company that has given you so much already for free. Think of any other sport, people pay the entry fee, they buy the merch, they spend money on food/drinks at the event.... and thats how the sport survives as a bussiness. You guys are so shortsighted its unbeleivable. /rant over TLDR; If you can't find $20 to support this, then dont complain when starcraft collapses in the west. It'll be on your head. If this fails, then esports fails. MLG can't continue making money like they have before, and If a company like MLG cant make money, then who the hell can?

The difference between BW/SC2 is that BW (somewhat) made the leap into the mainstream where non-niche products could be advertised (such as, gilette, coke, bacchus and various mobile phone corps) If only that was the case in SC2...I have no idea what Bacchus is but I know that they hosted 2 OSLs and would probably recognize it immediately after that. You don't forget names of tournaments named after sponsors, especially lulzy ones such as "You Are The Golf King MSL" xd

I think at least for this time you should choose Assembly, they are a pretty small event in a pretty small country and they've worked their ass off this time. They have a great lineup (Stephano, Kas, Polt, Hero, Moon, Tod etc.) and they have really worked hard to improve the spectator experience this time.

Well, that would go into "not good enough content". I know several have said "rather pay for GSL, wont pay for everything" or "IPL had more content than this for less money". Could add a lot of reasons like that, but i just kinda bunched them all up into "not enough content considering the price". Maybe not ideal but that was the reasoning behind it.

Unfortunately there is a monopoly in that you can only live places where there is a government, unless you by an island. No, I want to pay taxes and have a good education system. I want good roads and cheap public transport. I want national healthcare. Hell, I'd be all for government provided 'basic' internet access (say, 256k/bit adsl).

I also support the feeling that if it was 10 bucks instead of 20 it would be far easier to purchase it. 20 bucks isn't a problem; the problem is 20 bucks at once. Definitely. It feels like a huge amount to shell out, the way MLG has ran its pay system as of late has being pretty dirty as well so I think twice before I would even consider giving them money, I haven't bought my GSTL ticket yet, and if it came down to MLG or GSTL the winner is pretty obvious there since GOM's has always being pretty good (in my opinion) with their paid services.

If you had the appropriate channels you could watch 24/7 gaming - mostly sc.In BW days I'm sure a good chunk of cash was made from the live audience, which simply is NOT an option when you have people competing not only from korea, but the americas and europe.

If the right amount of Prize money is there, don't you think the players will be there? Isn't it up to 1,000.00 USD each for all 32 players in travel expenses? You could make quite a sick prizepool for that.. Or make a stream.. Not PPV :-) I realize that Korean teams still don't have money to send over a lot of players, but honestly, there are quite a alot foreigners that I would really like to watch battle it out in a tournament such as this - A few koreans would be awesome, but not a must for it to be worth my time... Maybe its just me though :-) Sure, some teams can afford it. But not all. A lot of Korean teams can't pull it off. NYC is expensive. Nestea and MVP wouldn't be at this event if MLG didn't pay for it. Remember NASL season 2? MLG is paying expenses in full for these players.

Not to mention all the free content that is created, it will be hard to justify paying $20 for a 3 day tournament. Because you know... those Youtube people get paid. Do you know how much money people like Day9 make off this "free" model, not to mention his fee for broadcasting? That money would be better spent elsewhere. Free content doesn't translate into longevity. It's not mlg.org.

Lastly though IF they meat expectation I will be happy to pay for it.. if not well I wont again for sure. EDIT: also not having this in members package is just laughable.. just saying that really needs to be changed... this honestly feels like we need money now.
