The way you feel alone in B.net 2.0 is very probably one of the greatest reasons why the player pool fades away from season to season. We have to keep these threads alive just for all these wonderful features. + Show Spoiler +It does not, except for shorter queue times (which, as I predicted in my previous post, is all that your arguments boil down to). And those alone aren't worth the sacrifice of fair and balanced team games. This is so right. Every time I play a team game with a team hopelessly outmatching the other, it's basically a 20mins queue time.
this. I can safely say most of my friends quit Sc2 because they got lonely on BNet and the custom system simply sucked. 1v1 tournaments...even more lonliness without them. And the biggest thing ever - Clan support...I think we have talked enough tho. Blizzard CANT ignore this. They will answer us mate. But keep posting anyway because we can never be sure with them!!!

I've recently started playing custom games, and it's a joke. All the maps are unimaginative copies from BW/WC3 which have hardly anything to do and get boring very quickly. There's very little variety because anything that's not at the top of the popularity list doesn't get played. Just awful.

damn just reading this makes me madder and madder at blizzard hahahaa they really are losing their edge.

I agree with this all. Why doesn't Blizzard still not do anything? Thats the most frustrating part. thanks for starting this thread lets hope something gets done now.

Blizzard before: Made games to make the best game they can, rewarded with tons of cash. Blizzard now: Makes games to make money; Less and less people buying their crap.

I agree, they totally live from their old reputation, hopefully they will change their minds, otherwise it will just be worse for both sides - the community and Blizz. :/

Could we please get Blizzard to respond to this in any shape or form and get it posted? Or if it has, could I be linked to it?

We should just stop buying their games, but what's the likelihood of that happening with HoTS and D3 coming out? Blizzard is turning into EA and every other big game company that just milks the popularity of their franchises.

I honestly don't get this thread and don't understand all the haters. Quite simply, Blizzard is working hard at releasing HOTS and along with it should come the improved UI. Hopefully better chat rooms/custom games etc... Why are we complaining about this now before we have even seen HOTS?

Because we've been promised improvements before the Beta, during the Beta and after release. To this day, Blizzard hasn't delivered. Many of these features were standard in previous games and should have shipped with SC2's release. We no longer want to wait, and we've stopped believing empty promises.

Did they promise better chat rooms and custom game selection in HoTS? You are just trusting that Blizzard do that? I think that's more ridiculous than the valid points brought up in this thread.

Wow, that's cool, really shows up BNet for the near barren wasteland it currently is.

If you like it, check out the links to Goblinoid's other work in the OP, as well as the link to the thread on his work here on TL. Might even drop him a line, so far he's been happy about all the feedback his concepts have garnered!

The job postings for battle.net alone outnumber any other project they have at the moment, even the new mmo's ones, more than 4 times what they have been in the recent months.
Looks like they are doing something, at least trying to.

I think(hope) they will change bnet drastically in HOTS because they realise(hopefuly) how much more people and players that alone can bring.

Neither of us knows how the matchmaking handles RT, AT and partial ATs abusing RT, yet you argue that "the formula will somehow work it out". Hint: It does not. Take a look at the win rates paralleluniverse quoted, or follow my suggestion and take a look at various diamond and master team leagues, both AT and RT. You'll see an obvious and massive advantage for ATs which a fair and balanced matchmaking system should not let happen. Those are only master league win rates. Of course, the best master arranged teams are better than the best master random teams. Because there are hardly any arranged master teams of the same skill available, the AT can be matched versus an inferior AT or RT. But for most other team strengths (with exception of very high and extremely low skill) there are enough teams online and looking for a game. In this cases, AT versus RT is fair as long as the team MMR is about even.
Show nested quote +But the common team player pool has advantages for the majority of the players. It does not, except for shorter queue times (which, as I predicted in my previous post, is all that your arguments boil down to). And those alone aren't worth the sacrifice of fair and balanced team games. Only for extreme skill levels (either high or low) the system is not able to find an MMR matching team.
Only when no other team of same MMR is searching for a game, the search will be widened. That means with seperate player pools, a master AT will hardly find any opponents. In the end they have either to wait very, very long, or have to play an inferior AT. The master team can sustain high win rates only because they are matched versus inferior teams (AT or RT) since there are no other team with a better matching skill looking for a game.
The issue is not the common AT/RT pool from which teams are matched against. The issue is the low number of very high-skilled teams.

I cannot believe anyone can bash on blizzard games.
Your on a sc forum. How many of us literally have only played sc since it came out? How many of us are going to play starcraft for at least the next 5 years?
Considering most 'good games' last a month, SC, WoW, WC, all of blizzard games are just beyond amazing, and beyond anything else out there. The only games maybe close in quality is CounterStrike or Halo. There's probably less than 10 really, really, quality games out there, even if you were to be liberal with what is 'good'.
The lack of perspective from some people is just ridiculous. As 'shitty' as SC2 is, I, among many others in here, will no doubt buy HOTS, and love it. Even with crappy UI or chat (and is it really that crappy? or just below your expectations?).

I got a feeling that this is starting to blow over. I don't want this to stop without at least a (proper) response from Blizzard.
Also Belial, I don't find this a bad game, I'm dissapointed that certain option are not in the game which were in older Blizzard games.

It is crappy, I wouldn't mind if it was their first UI or something like that. But they have done very good UI for W3, so they proved that they can do it, now they are taking giant steps backwards over and over again.
