Hullo TL : )
Some of you may remember me from last year or start of this year as I translated Korean SC2 articles into English. I have been pretty busy with my final year in the university and now I am 'almost' graduated (hopefully).
Since I have so much more time to spare, I will be working with Slayers_Min on his stream as a host/commentator while he is streaming. Min always wanted to provide SC2 educational or entertaining contents but with his limitation in English, he couldn't get to the point where he wanted.
So I will be streaming with him tomorrow fully before I stream with him the full-time. So I am writing this to ask what you would like to see on his stream.
Here are the number of things that I have in my/Min's mind 1. In-depth commentary during a game 2. Q&A 3. Some trolling ()
Please feel free to provide any opinions then I will consider them and incorporate them as they fit.
P.S : I will be starting my own commentary channel on YouTube. All games commentated will be Code S quality games done by SlayerS players : D Please let me know if you have any particular player/match-up you would love to watch.
Audio is out of sync but watch it from 01:36:00 if you would like to listen my first live commentary (which was during yesterday's stream) - btw guys, I might not be good at commentating at live but I will make sure that when I do commentaries on replays, I will prepare alot. Feel free to criticize (not too harsh though : P I've criticized myself alot haha tell me I am bad upto a point where I won't get a self-esteem problem)
EDIT 2: Made a poll
EDIT 3: Done a full 8 hours of hosting/commentating today http://ko.twitch.tv/slayersmin/b/301572734 It was a great success (well people didn't dislike it : P ) and Min will be streaming again at 1PM KST on Sunday (4th Dec). I am also doing a commentary over a brilliant game between SlayerS_Min vs TreefOu ! Please keep an eye on this thread : )
The three options you mentionned are really good, you should just try to balance the ratio. As far as your own channel is concerned, I think that people would like to get some Boxer/MMA games, but if you can get a few good games from Taeja I'd be really pleased
sAslmre/ my first commentary will be on SlayerS_Yugioh's : ) but MMA/BoxeR I will look into Support SlayerS !
HellGreen/ It's his birthday so it would depend on how hung he would be tomorrow : P but the stream will be linked on TL on the right side. Don't want to make this thread looking like an ad haha
To me, the absolutely best thing I know is when a player on that level guides us through his thought process while he's executing it. It's really cool to have him explain for example why he makes X number of mutas while he scouts this or that opening from the Protoss. That really is the best thing I know at least!
Also obviously random ranter, trolling and jokes are always welcome as well! :D
This is wonderful! I've been following SlayerS_Min's stream for quite a while now and I'd love to get to understand how he plans out his game play. Hopefully you can translate some of his analysis for his game play while he's streaming. Q&A would be nice as well, though it might be a little tedious to have to work through the questions in English, get them translated to Korean and back again. Worth a try though!
For example, if he sends a scout overlord in and sees some stuff in a Protoss base, I want to hear what he thinks "oh, he has a robo this early, that means he's doing this or this, and I can take another base".

Watch it from 01:36:00 : ) I live commentated, audio is out of sync of let me know if you like my commentating. I have improved a bit after that live commentate (which was yesterday) listened my horrible voice multiple times and wrote down what I should be doing
Just watched your live commentary and I gotta say that it was very in-depth and i liked it. But you have to fill the gaps with something else than "emmmm". Still very good and i would like the see more of that stuff in the future.

Thank you. That was my first commentary which was hard for me as it was a live one. : ) Upcoming commentaries will have a higher quality so please keep an eye out for !
Started, feel free to criticize me and everything so I can improve fast! thank you!
Not the best time to stream, lol! Watching the GSL finals and the NASL at the same time, I cannot watch a stream as well! I'll watch you next time though! <3
great job commentating. I watch a lot of korean player streams but I when I'm looking for a stream I tend to opt for english streams to more easily digest whats happening on the stream. I'd say this is an amazing addition to Mins stream and I'd love to see more of this in the future. Entertaining and informative.
This is a fantastic way for the Koreans to reach out to the foreign community. Thank you for taking the time for us all. I will be watching this stream.
The commentary is good; I do know some stuff about commentating and public speaking - even if I don't have quite the grasp on strategy to be a good caster. If you'd like some help with improving your commentary, I'd love to do so! :D
this is the link to the today's stream and if anyone is bored and waste time : ) you can watch it and swear at me for being bad (but first you have to tell me why I was bad)
I personally hate when I open a stream and it has some fucker browsing reddit or off racing- I am there to watch that person play SC2 at a high level, I am there to watch them play their race, and I am not interested in bullshit. Destiny and CatZ tend to do this a lot, and its remarkably frustrating. They aren't the only ones, but it feels to me like when people do that, they are not only taking away from the experience of watching an SC2 stream, but from the point of producing content. Streamers are there not for themselves, like they often believe, but for the community. They are there and featured by virtue of their catering to the viewers at some point in time. Without the viewers, they would be nothing. Hell, I stream, and no one watches <3, but I am also not providing much quality content. The whole point of streaming (with regard to SC2) is to provide the ability to watch lower level/ non=pros watch professional-level starcraft, or just watch starcraft for lola if the streamer isn't a pro. Either way, the streaming experience is there so that people can be exposed to Starcraft being played, not all this other bullshit.
Sorry, I've been wanting to stand on that soapbox for a really long time. D:
SlayerS_Min has a great stream that I always enjoy watching. Sorry for the rant
I was watching the stream today. Both the gameplay and the commentary are good.
I personally like both you doing commentary and translating what Min says. It seems like it's mostly your commentary and not that much translation. The one note I would make is that it wasn't always clear when Min was talking and when you were. I'm not sure what a good solution would be though.
High skilled player with good mechanics just playing the game on KR with a clean screen. I can't stand the recent influx of ugly overlays with some small box with a webcam and commercials rotating on the screen.
