Dont get me wrong, I'm here 99% for SC2 and I'd be lying if I said I wasnt excited by this. But from most of what I hear, all viewer numbers are still in SCBW, all sponsors are there, vast majority of fans still follow SCBW over SC2. Mostly everything seems to point towards SCBW just being a lot more popular. The one thing SC2 has going for it is the international scene which really only is available for the absolute top and profitable for very few players, as well as obviously the potential of growth (better jump on the train now before it goes too far too catch).
But still, so if I was the head coach of a team or some other powerful individual in the Korean SCBW world, why would I want to switch? Or is this whole talk about SCBW being more popular bullshit and SC2 is doing well compared to BW? I think the international effect is really understated. Korea isn't that big, and BW doesn't exist anywhere else really. Maybe not as big of a point, but a lot of players like traveling. SC2 gives young korean progamers the chance to travel around the world to a bunch of Amazing places. BW really doesn't. Teams are dropping out of BW because of sponsorship. Maybe the sponsors are looking for something new. Something they can use to advertise around the world. Companies like LG, Samsung, Hyundai, and Kia have way more to gain sponsoring SC2, these are brand names people recognize everywhere. I think it might be difficult for some fans to transition, but it looks like the players are doing fine, the teams are up for it, and the sponsorships will be rolling in. BW is like a TV show that's run for a really long time. It might have a lot of die hard fans, but it's popularity is slowly being usurped by a newer TV show that isn't recorded on a wet, cracked, iPhone first gen lense. Teams dont Drop out of Esports not BW. so it isnt positive for SC2 either. and if Samsung would think like u im pretty sure they would already have their SC2 team and wouldnt support BW anymore. u have this LG Hyundai or whatever. they throw 50k in and that sit. nice sponsors. People need 2 realize that not BW is dying but Esports in korea. Esports can only die if sponsors can't make money off of it. Sponsors are making money off of SC2. The international companies I mentioned, again, have the most to gain. It's not about BW vs SC2. It's about money vs more money. well for me only Korea has real esports. the west has prize money hunting and nothing more. What does it take for a game to become a "real" eSport? Because if over 20k people from all over the world screaming and shouting during a GSL finals doesn't make it "real", I don't know what does.
Still having over 20k people screaming and shouting 5 to 10 years after the game is released.
Plenty of games have made a big bubble in the west for a year or two after release only to fail spectacularly in the long run (which mostly has to do with how their teams and organizations behave and do things).

I agree but some doesn't agree with us. Thats why it would be great to have both options.

If he posted this on the BW forums it'd be an obvious troll and he should be warned or banned, but in this case, I hope you are. You're the asshole here. No, wanting a game and it's community to "die" is being an asshole regardless of where it is posted, even if it's a forum which has nothing at all to do with the game. You can want it, but at least be civil and not so blunt about it.
Just so we're clear, I'm personally a big BW fan, I don't agree with him and the last thing I want is BW dying.
But if it is his wish that BW ceases to be a competitive game to absorb it's amazing players, teams and infrastructure into the SC2 scene, where and how can he post those speculations and wishes? Obviously doing it in the BW section is a complete dick move, but is it not okay that he wishes it here? Is he not allowed the opinion?

This is outrageous. I can't believe that Blizzard can just slap a Starcraft sticker on Command and Conquer 5 and destroy the naturally developed Korean Brood War scene by throwing money. I hope every player, caster and tournament organizer feels ashamed of pretending that SC2 is the true successor of Broodwar in order to make money and gain popularity. If this goes through I will never by another Blizzard product ever again.
This is just too horrible to imagine. Blizzard fucking balances the game for noobs, and terrible players. Can you imagine what would have happened to Brood War if Protoss had been balanced for D level? Blizzard makes incredibly shitty maps so that players can "rush," yet ignores the fact that you can be aggressive on big maps also.
It's like every design decision has been made to dumb the game down so that its popular among casuals. You want to use a shuttle + Reaver, too fucking bad you have a colossus now, its pretty much the same thing. You want to micro carriers, tough shit, the interceptors will now come back, also the goliath can now fly over terrain. You don't like to take more than three bases, cool Browder doesn't like to either, we've changed worker gather rates and added an extra geyser so that taking four or more bases is pointless. You are having problems with seige tanks, no don't use drops or positioning, just make marauders or immortals lol. They have also removed losses from the profiles of noobs, now Joe reddit gold league can feel like a gosu, because that's what makes game good.
I can't believe that every WoW fanboy, Redditor and youtube caster watching noob is getting their way. Oh well, at least I'll have the last laugh when the SC2 foreign scene dies. This has probably damned the Korean scene to a new coke like fiasco as well.

Why? Why is he not allowed to be of the opinion that the best thing for SC2 is for BW to be let go?
Doing it on the BW forums would be ridiculously rude, but why can he not have this opinion here?

Now this make sense why Nada say those words during group selection. - Be proud to be the 1st generation of SC2 progamer. have pride. - I think the current SC2 team knew BW teams are coming. GOMTV change the format just before BW teams enter eh?
My opinion only though.

He says that KT installed a PC in the rehabilitation center for him to practice on and that he feels that his skill hasn't deteriorated after playing a few games. He's not worried about his arm and he feels he'll return faster than expected.

This is so sad. It'll be nice to see a new influx of talent into SC2, but knowing that said talent is being drained from BW makes this a bittersweet transition. The floodgates are about to open, and then there's no looking back.
Hopefully these teams can use their experience to help shape SC2 into a truly worth successor.

They're just practicing for SC2 as well as BW. Dude, i've been a huge BW-fan for yeeeaars, and as much as i hated having to let go of it, it's just inevitable. People that followed the BW scene know that the top players did pretty much nothing but play BW and then chill for an hour or two before bed. There is NO way they are going to be practicing BW and SC2 at the same time, they either try to get ahead in SC2 or decide to stick with BW while it's (sadly) going down.
A BW fan accepting what is going on without bashing SC2 :O
*tips hat*

Slightly ashamed to admit it's been nearly a year now since I cheered for CJ. Would love to see them and others come to SC2.
But.. won't this mean that there are like 2 - 3 x the number of SC2 pro teams even inside Korea than BW?
