I'm a bit confused about this copyright stuff. If they post it into a public domain (such as the internet), why is it copyright infringement if the source is given?

Oh, and please don't turn this thread into BW vs SC2. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF JAEDONG. Nada did also say that a top Zerg switching would have way more of an impact than a Terran or Toss so I'm pretty excited if any of this does come to pass. Especially with HotS just around the corner. Bisu will just 4gate like he did at blizzcon lol <3
I havn't seen any of the blizzcon videos of the BW gamers. Is there any way to find that somehow? O_O

Edit. I think what the protoss race needs in SC2 is a BW P playing it. I think a lot of protoss players are stuck in 1 hotkey - one death ball syndrome. Even with chargelot archon most people play very scrappy, and all over the map.
I guess thats what they are saying although I hope thats not the case and that they have a seperate team to play SC2.
although the thought of Reach owning it up again is really juicy.
also, here's some though, while this is all nice and good, a problem is where does this leave the Foreginer scene?
because chances are its gonna be like BW all over again.

Nothing in his post is "shit". This is the SC2 forum, speculating about SC2's potential on the SC2 forum is perfectly acceptable, even if it involves another game. If he posted this on the BW forums it'd be an obvious troll and he should be warned or banned, but in this case, I hope you are.
You're the asshole here.

No they haven't
I get your point about televised sports and such but regular sports are still the same as they were 12 years ago while SC2 is vehemently different from BW. All brand recognition beyond the name goes flying out of the window.
But hey, all for esports. Can't wait for everyone to switch to Dota 2 next year

Sadly this is something we are going to ha e to get used to as community games change and the old never stays around even though sc2 is the new thing now eventually it will just get too out of date and a new game will rise to take its place. Esports will endure though.

speaking of bw pros playing sc2 , a while back I remember reading a post about a Chinese sc2 tournament that had Tossgirl playing as zerg , what happened to that ?

Nah, there's a short clip of them playing from the side but that's all.
The 4gate was an eyewitness account vs some random Terran. He botched it first with sentries in the front and zealots in the back trying to bust the ramp lol, then pulled out some gosu stalker micro to break it at the second attempt.

No, wanting a game and it's community to "die" is being an asshole regardless of where it is posted, even if it's a forum which has nothing at all to do with the game.
You can want it, but at least be civil and not so blunt about it.

"let BW die" is never a good thing to say on TL, EVER.
it insults its fans and the game.
the rest of his post was fine.

I'm just wondering will the OGN-league have English commentaries?

Dont get me wrong, I'm here 99% for SC2 and I'd be lying if I said I wasnt excited by this. But from most of what I hear, all viewer numbers are still in SCBW, all sponsors are there, vast majority of fans still follow SCBW over SC2. Mostly everything seems to point towards SCBW just being a lot more popular. The one thing SC2 has going for it is the international scene which really only is available for the absolute top and profitable for very few players, as well as obviously the potential of growth (better jump on the train now before it goes too far too catch).
But still, so if I was the head coach of a team or some other powerful individual in the Korean SCBW world, why would I want to switch? Or is this whole talk about SCBW being more popular bullshit and SC2 is doing well compared to BW? I think the international effect is really understated. Korea isn't that big, and BW doesn't exist anywhere else really. Maybe not as big of a point, but a lot of players like traveling. SC2 gives young korean progamers the chance to travel around the world to a bunch of Amazing places. BW really doesn't. Teams are dropping out of BW because of sponsorship. Maybe the sponsors are looking for something new. Something they can use to advertise around the world. Companies like LG, Samsung, Hyundai, and Kia have way more to gain sponsoring SC2, these are brand names people recognize everywhere. I think it might be difficult for some fans to transition, but it looks like the players are doing fine, the teams are up for it, and the sponsorships will be rolling in. BW is like a TV show that's run for a really long time. It might have a lot of die hard fans, but it's popularity is slowly being usurped by a newer TV show that isn't recorded on a wet, cracked, iPhone first gen lense. Teams dont Drop out of Esports not BW. so it isnt positive for SC2 either. and if Samsung would think like u im pretty sure they would already have their SC2 team and wouldnt support BW anymore. u have this LG Hyundai or whatever. they throw 50k in and that sit. nice sponsors. People need 2 realize that not BW is dying but Esports in korea. Esports can only die if sponsors can't make money off of it. Sponsors are making money off of SC2. The international companies I mentioned, again, have the most to gain. It's not about BW vs SC2. It's about money vs more money. well for me only Korea has real esports. the west has prize money hunting and nothing more. What does it take for a game to become a "real" eSport? Because if over 20k people from all over the world screaming and shouting during a GSL finals doesn't make it "real", I don't know what does.

Posting content on the Internet does not make it public domain. It is no different than posting in newspapers or magazines.

oh man, i just hope this doesn't mean they'll phase out BW completely, or all the big names switch over :/ (or any, for that matter, but i'm just being selfish lol)

A public domain is a term used for something that isn't protected by copyrights, due to the protection expiring, being forfeited or not being protected in the first place. Internet is just a medium.
