If you ask me, Ghosts got downgraded from "overkill" to "just OP." EMP still does gigantic damage + energy drain + reveals cloak + higher range than other casts + comes from T2-ish tech route.

There's no way that Terran got the same treatment Protoss has.

I guess this is strictly for PvP? So you can effectively split his army in half without having to deal with warpins. Not sure if i like it in the other matchups though.

Looks like you've only been reading the "positive comments only!" thread.

The threads that don't censor the discussion have shown an enormous lack of confidence in what P is being given. Multitudes of reasons were given.

It's consistent with the quote in my sig. David Kim doesn't concede that P should be "given something in return." So why should we expect anything in return?

the Zerg has, the gap in the ZvT graph is of cosmic proportions.

You seriously need to realize that Toss is not the only race that has been suffering.

They will eventually add an AoE damage cap to EMP to fix it, don't worry about that.

Yes, this change does remove gimmicky protoss play. But hello? Have you ever played protoss? Gimmicky play is what the race is all about and it's what I enjoy about it. Forcefielding ramps, blink stalkers all-ins, proxy DTs, you might hate those tactics, but I'm happy they're in the game as they reward ingenuity. Even the new expansion units are purely gimmicky, do what gives Blizzard? Just nerf offensive warp-ins by adding vulnerability to units that are warping in instead of making pylons impossible to use in fun and clever ways.

My point is that, as mentioned before, everyone is going to go through that stage, i played zerg during the first year of SC2 (random now), trust me when i tell you that i've been pissed at blizzard more than enough. But it's stupid to think that blizzard is just holding out on some "fix-it-all"-patch because they want toss to be shit and terran to be superior.

There's a reason main bases have high grounds, ramps and chokes, so they can be more easily defended. Other races require a commitment to bypass these defenses. With this change, Protoss has to use drops like everyone else to get their units into someone's main. Great change.

i dont think this is as big of a change as people say
with the warpprism gaining popularity i rarely see a lowground pylon used except for some voidray allins

From low to high ground I can understand but high to low only wrecks the ability to rally a bit faster on certain maps, metalopolis comes to mind.

Weird change imo either way.

Oh, they're not holding out on anything. There's nothing intentional about it.

But Blizzard just has a completely distorted view on balance. We are lucky as hell that they use statistics, imho they are the only thing keeping a minimum of balance. David Kim's own ideas and reasoning are completely off the mark.

99% chance this is just a graphical mistake with the cliff or some kind of bug with the current HotS build. This is all based off of a single screenshot from a game thats not even close to a final version, so why would you be so confident this is actually a change?
