Shredder gives the terran a "defensive structure" that doesn't require marines I suppose. I have a feeling they might make this thing too OP though since it only works by itself. I got a feeling it will be able to kill near infinite zerglings alone, which is dumb.


Yeah it'll be tough to slip units past it until you pull a Terran unit into the.shredder's range with the Viper and shut it down completely. That sounds like a pretty badass relationship to me.

Zergs finally got new versions of lurker and defieler. Though if Swarm lord belongs to hive tech then it is kinda obsolete. Protoss new air units are meh. With phoenixes and void rays, new air harass unit seems unecessary and tempest looks uncreative ( carriers buff could be better option). And terrans get mini-thor and some flexibility with hellions( seems unfair). Overall average update lets hope LOTV will make protoss more dynamic.

Can anyone clarify how the replicator works? The trailer obviously shows a bunch turning into sieged tanks, but we were also told you need to be in melee range. Is this a one time thing after you are in melee range and then every replicator afterwards can transform into anything?

basically orc pillage from WC3. you get 1 mineral per sec and something about doing 1 dmg per sec to the building

You Do Realise Protoss initially had around 4-5 more unique units compared to Zergs number of Unique Units.

I just noticed in the Polls 90% of the Zerg were happy with their 2 new units. While the Protoss and Protoss were 50% satisfied and the Terran 35%-65% i think.

I voted on all the polls, too. I voted yes for Z and T, no for P. I think the zerg and terran units bring more to the table in terms of strategies and gameplay. Zerg gets a dark swarm and a lurker type unit that can control a zone. The new goliath type unit brings a much needed mobile anti-air to mech. Thors are too freaking slow against mutalisks. The shredder, hopefully, can control space and protect siege tanks from getting rush, like spider mines used to do.

It's P I voted no for since the oracle sounds gimmicky, the replicant sounds lame (if people want to control T/Z units, they can choose to play T/Z) and the tempest sounds like a dumbed down carrier that has a more straightforward a-move mechanic.

Yes, for example vs. a pack of marines (or vs. everything ranged) this unit gonna be useless without support because those broodlings won't even reach the ranged unit. Lurkers were way better...

Also Vipers looks really OP, I mean you fly and grab few colossus or thors or tanks, wow just unreal

Remember when we first saw SC2 at blizzcon? A lot of shit changed since then. Hell, a lot has been patched since release, I highly doubt all of this will remain as is upon release of HoTS.

There is no way replicants will be able to take workers, think about warp prism/storm drop, but just have 1 replicant and 2 templar, then steal an SCV and suddenly mid/late game you can make orbital commands instead of nexus. And have mules.

That said I dislike the move towards so many spellcasters, maybe not from a gameplay perspective, but from an Esports perspective, it makes it more confusing as to what's going on. I prefer the tactical element of unit positioning.
