On October 22 2011 04:01 3clipse wrote: Moving Burrowed Banelings D- This is going to be incredibly imbalanced for a week before players realize that they need detection everywhere, and then no one will use it. It'll encourage more missile turrets from the Terran. It will be OP especially if the Raven isn't made any easier to obtain. On October 22 2011 04:01 3clipse wrote: Oracle C+ Is slowing down mining really preferred when killing workers might take similar effort? I sort of like the concept (feels right to have these abilities under P rather than Z control), but I'm not entirely convinced this will be useful. It seems to be positioned to be a low-risk way of stopping mining. A full drop can be quite costly, especially if it's stopped. But for Zerg especially, it's difficult to stop air before mutas/infestors, so all Protoss would be risking is mining, and it'd have a low micro-cost. I can see it being quite useful On October 22 2011 04:01 3clipse wrote: Warhound D- Poor design (looks like a tall scv). Function overlaps thor (please don't remove the thor for this piece of garbage). Seems like an all-around boring unit that doesn't offer new micro possibilities and has an indistinct role. No, I think this makes sense. Hopefully it'll allow air-aoe for less cost - air-aoe was the most substantial use for thors. On October 22 2011 04:01 3clipse wrote: Battle Hellion C- Ok, it adds a little micro and decision making. But really, were hellions not good enough before? The fact that they die to banelings or roaches fairly quickly is my only saving grace vs these bastards. It's also a pretty lazy change. This, along with the warhound, seem to be added to make mech a more powerful tech choice - it's considered weaker than marine/tank against Zerg just now. Ordinary hellions just aren't as effective as marines at keeping things off your tanks. On October 22 2011 04:01 3clipse wrote: Shredder C Holds the unimpressive distinction of being the least awful new Terran unit. I like that it creates a new type of gameplay dynamic, but doesn Terran really need more static defense? With siege tanks, bunkers, turrets and PD's? It seems a bit superfluous to me. Terran currently have no zero-supply ground defense except planetary fortresses. That makes drops on the main and natural a lot easier for other players. They're filling a gap here, I think - pull away your SCVs quickly enough and the pulse will take out the zealots/marines.

Mutas and vipers can swoop in and take out detection then your burrowed blings can kill everything else.

I just noticed in the Polls 90% of the Zerg were happy with their 2 new units. While the Protoss and Protoss were 50% satisfied and the Terran 35%-65% i think. Just saying the polls show you guys aren't as satisifed as Zergs but you got more *new* units i'm not referring to Net Gain (since you already had way many more unique Units in WOL) Don't know about the rest, but I voted on all of the polls, so you can hardly say it's just the Terran that are disappointed in their units. I voted yes for Z and P, no for T. Because the Terran units are pretty lame other than the semi-unrevealed one.

From a design perspective - why remove units from the game at all? What harm could be done by leaving carriers, motherships, and regular thors in the game? They would just add more depth and provide more options for players that would make the game more interesting and dynamic overall.
