Who said anything about a conspiracy? That's a strawman argument if I ever saw one.

I said they were biased.

But this is a never ending argument, you could go on and say that making the first campaign a terran campaign is biased, too. Or to get a terran on the sc2 startscreen, or to have it on the facebook site etc etc etc.
There will be many more things to look at that can give you the feeling that they are terran-biased, but there's no real point.

Yea, it's not really a debate topic.

Rather, I was addressing the claim that came up repeatedly in this thread, that those who were complaining about the order were "retarded."

I don't think they're so retarded, I think they made a pretty clear observation. That's my point. It's an arbitrary order they picked, so for some to question it (justifiably) is valid imho.

To address the "reveal in order of the expansions" thing... Is there any reason to do so?

It doesn't counter the claim made by some that Blizz favors Terran. "Naw dude, they're doing it in the order of the games." Why? What's the purpose of that? If anything, this is a Zerg expansion. The order is meaningless.

Let's be honest, this does look Terran favored. Because there's no real reason to go in the order of the expansions. It would be MUCH more intuitive to start with the race being highlighted.

I don't think it's on Blizzard's best interest to have a game designed to be an esport that has imbalances between races.

I'm not suggesting intentional imbalance. But I do think their vision is clouded for whatever reason.

People already call this game Terrancraft, and now that, finally, the Zerg chapter is in the spotlight... "Hey, I know! Let's arbitrarily do it in the order that starts with Terran."

The reasons for this I can only speculate. Maybe a focus group revealed that Terran is better for marketing. I don't claim to know. But I definitely see bias (and I'm not even a Zerg player).

I think you need to take a step back and realize "why the fuck do i care?".

I stepped back and realized "I care about StarCraft 2 enough that I post on a forum about it." Why are you here if you don't care?

I'd say there's something wrong with you if you don't question anything.

They do it in the order of the campaigns because they want to.
Would it change anything if they had a different order?
I don't know, I'm not blizzard. Go ask them.
I hope this answer is satisfying because it's the only one that doesn't include assumptions and/or lies.

I think you are really a bit too picky on this one. It creates more hype anyway if the toss unit gets revealed last, because everyone is curious about this.

"Because they want to." That's convenient.

Face it, there's no reason to do it this way, and coincidentally (?) Terran just happens to be first in everything.

I think the people who got trashed earlier for making this observation had a fair point at the very least.

I don't know, they for some reason must think it's logical to order the races like that. Even the SC1 campaign was Terran 1st, Zerg 2nd and Protoss 3rd.

I think it is!

Hellion's the only unit with wheels like that. What I'm curious about is where this fits in, in the T tech tree.

I can't know for sure until the final thing is revealed, but this is my current impression of it:

Pretty tacky concept. I'm also not fond of the "transformers" theme. SC1 Terran was about scrappy units who won through human ingenuity.

Of course, I'd love to be wrong about this.

It obviously has feet and not tires, and a flamethrower? That is questionable.
It has tires on his legs and on his shoulders. The thing above the head is remarkably similar to the hellion flame thrower.

maybe the plates on its hands are wings that it flaps when it shoots laser and hovers.

when it's not flapping it's on rails

edit:

or maybe it collects banelings into wicker baskets and throws them at enemy. it is similar to infestors and infested terrans. wicker baskets won't let the banelings explode, because they feel so good.

Doesn't make sense to release them in campaign order, so what unit will the Protoss have to look forward to after the protoss expansion is out. There won't be one.

after the protoss expac comes out, no race will have any units to look forward to...?

I think adapting units to multiple purposes is pretty ingenious and efficient use of materials

Blizzard reveals new mysterious terran unit for Heart of the Swarm: the Donkey

In a reaction from lead developer Dustin Browder:
"The Donkey is a much needed upgrade for the terran Siege Tank. In addition, a new upgrade to the factory, Donkey Stables, is needed to research the upgrade.
A core problem involving Siege Tank strategies is that there was no way to move them to an area fast, unless Terran had a starport. We felt that terran was slightly underpowered because of this.
Although we don’t want to see siege tanks used in every terran late game, we noticed they’re hardly ever used at all. To encourage their use in more games, we decided to buff their biggest weakness, movement speed.
With this siege tank upgrade the terran army will be a lot more flexible, bringing them on par with Zerg and Protoss."

David Kim also wants to point out that
"We consider this case more of a bug fix than a balance change. We've made every effort to weigh these types of changes very carefully and will continue to do so in the future. We understand the impact the Donkey might have on gameplay and want to make sure that when we make a change, it’s for the betterment of the game as a whole. The metagame is always changing, and that can make balancing the game a challenge, but we are dedicated to constantly evolving StarCraft II and committed to providing the kind of epic gameplay experience the community expects."

Finally, according to Browder he was amazed in the lack of insight of the community once Blizzard released the silhouette teaser.
"For us at blizzard it was so clear to see the unit in the silhouette, but somehow people failed to notice what it was. They even came up with all kinds of insane theories like a transformer upgrade for the hellion, which wouldn't fit terran lore at all. We already have the mule, so The Donkey was the logical next step."

I have it on fairly good authority that while wicker baskets do feel good, they also cause things to explode

I'm quite sure this thing will be mobile, have low damage, high rate of fire and will be able to shoot air so it can complement the mech units.

Or it's just another weird campaign unit.
