Not sure what you're getting at since "faggot" is not a racist remark. Call a black guy a faggot, then call him a "nigger" afterwards. It should be easy to tell that both words will give you a vastly different response (you will get your ass kicked on the latter).
There's a fine line between talking trash and being a racist prick. If you can't see it, then that's pretty sad.

I think not, I believe it is unprofessional conduct.

well tbh, this is no worse than half the shit that I'm sure gets said on the football field...for example on monday night redskins at cowboys you could clearly see Romo cussing the players out on his team only difference is that there is written proof here, this isn't hurting sc2...just the person who said it suffers

While I for one do not care what people say to me, that does not mean a person should have to put up with threats or vulgar language if they do not want to. While yes, you can turn on the mature language filter, we all know how easy it is to wright a truly obscene sentence and not flag the filter.
Esports, and gaming in general is a lot bigger than some may realize. Tons of people you would never expect play games. For instance my own mother is an avid gamer and her creds include Everquest and WoW. Recently she expressed an interest in playing SC2, and I was able to think of was all the rage and BM I had encountered. A ton a racism and talk putting things in orifices.... Does my mom or some other gamer mom want to read that?
In any other situation, a game of magic the gathering for instance, you can not get away with saying the things that are said and for some reason excepted in the realm of computer gaming. Just imagine sitting across the table from someone playing chess or poker or dnd or what ever table top game and the dude looks you in the face and start talking about how your a (insert racial term) and how hes going to (insert sexual act). That person would be look at like a psychopath, and some may even simply get up from the table and punch said psychopath in the face.
In the end I know we are just going to have to put up with it, because it is not really possible to make a collective group of people and say, "You, grow up and stop being dicks!". And I'm just happy my mom does not want to get into HoN...

I find it hard to believe that Zilea would say such a thing in the first place in a RL setting. Revealing yourself to be a mildly sociopathic asshole is a lot harder to do in real life with other people around.

I can tell you what happens when Zilea loses... it's about the same. I met this guy in ladder, too. He tried a proxy hatch in my base, which I stopped with a cannon. Then I eventually beat his standard mix (I think) with phoenixes and stuff. I don't think there was a gg. He said he played for money, that I didn't, he was pro, etc. I wasn't convinced.
But on topic, even though things like what the OP posted do happen, I like how the responses are usually measured and tactful. Most of these pro gamers are really nice people, who just get caught up in the moment. Which is why I have a lot of respect for the scene, despite things like this.

nothing wrong with it. It sometimes happens. The intrawebs are dangerousss.

no
don't be an ass and reinforce the angry nerd stereotype
even though it's serious business it's just a game and people should act civil about it

If, as in the example above, someone told you that you deserved to be murdered in public, they would be regarded as an antisocial psychopath, and it would probably cause quite a stir.
What makes the internet so scpecial? Why is it that this sort of behavir should be tolerated without question?

I dont think the immaturity of internet will ever change as long as everyone can hide behind their monitor without the threat of being able to be found IRL (like they can in S Korea)
