I don't play Zerg so I'm not paying that much attention, but I'm almost positive he often shift-clicks larva out of the group before adding them to the control group. | ||

He's probably ctrl-clicking the eggs. That way you only have to click once instead of shift-clicking 10 larvae. | ||

It's more a situational thing, sometimes you don't have the time to ctrl click + shift & select control group (even though at their level of play it's probably not as much a problem). The huge advantage is that you can send your not hatched yet units directly to where you want at all times, and you can a-click so that they attack in the direction you specified as soon as they come out of the eggs. Obviously never do that with your mutas if you are already attacking with your existing ones^^ | ||
