compLexity Gaming and Team MVP expand partnership; Creative Sound Blaster sponsors MVP
compLexity Gaming and Team MVP are thrilled to announce the expansion of our exclusive joint partnership and the sponsorship of Team MVP by Creative Sound Blaster. Effective immediately the original partnership, announced in July of this year, will see coL.MVP include all of Team MVP's players. They will all be available for global travel and will all wear coL.MVP jerseys during Korean play. Additionally, we are very excited to announce that compLexity's title sponsor, Creative Sound Blaster, is now sponsoring Team MVP and supporting all of their endeavors in Korea.
"We are very pleased to expand our deep relationship with Team MVP," stated Jason Bass, Chief Operating Officer of compLexity Gaming. "The original intent of this agreement was always to build upon it and expand the mutually beneficial arrangement for both teams. Our goal has been, and will continue to be, to support Team MVP on many levels and support Korean gaming whenever possible."
"I am very excited our partnership has grown so quickly," said Choi Yoon Sang, manager of Team MVP. "I am grateful for the support of compLexity's management and very thankful to everyone at Creative Sound Blaster for showing such strong support for our team and for Korean gaming. I encourage our fans to support Sound Blaster to show them investing in Korean StarCraft 2 is a wise decision."
"As the global leader in gaming audio Creative is excited to sponsor Team MVP, further establishing Sound Blaster as the audio standard for professional gamers on an international level," said Ryan Schlieper, Product Marketing Manager for Gaming Audio at Creative / Sound Blaster.

Good for MVP.

MVP is a great up&coming team. Love to see ♥Keen♥ and Noblesse in future events.
|
Here's to Cruncher in Korea...
(what, he's cool ok, don't shoot me)
|
Good for the korean scene, looking forward to see more mvp players to international tournaments ( I have a feeling Keen would like MLG . )
|
Keen to MLG! Make it happen Creative Sound Blaster.
|
Sounds great. They do deserve this.
|
That's a cool news! Gratz to both teams and hopefully, we'll see more MVP in foreign events and more coL in Korea!

Really nice. MVP guys really deserve a sponsorship and this will also help the Complexity guys to practice or go to Korea

If you rank Koreans according to how awesome their ceremony is, Keen comes right after MC! Though MC's Pepsi-drinking, can-crushing ceremony is only so good because the next guy... I forgot who... tried to ex the can as well and choked on it. ^^
|
One more reason I'm glad I have a Sound Blaster card.
|
Wow this is awesome. It's great to see more companies jumping into the scene
|
Pretty cool, both teams benefit a lot.

Send the entire roster to MLG.
|
Can someone make a list of all the korean-foreign partnerships? Let's see, there's col - MVP Liquid - ogs fxopen - fOu
|
Go Go Col. Interesting to see how Drew does after practicing with the MVP crew.
|
Nice to see the partnership expand so quickly. Good luck to both coL and MVP!
|
woo great news ;D
genius and keen to MLG gogogo
|
Great news Jason, keep it up!
|
Hmmm... it's been a while since I've even considered acquiring a Sound Blaster product. Considering that they are now helping some of my favorite players, is Sound Blaster worth it?
I fear that by the end of this year, I will be up to my knees in Monster, Pepsi, CJ food products, Prime clothing, Intel stuff, Sound Blaster stuff, Hot Pockets, and Dr Pepper if I ever try to go all out on supporting ESPORTS.
Nevertheless, I'm quite excited to see more MVP players abroad. Keen and Guineapig are looking quite impressive as of late, and it would be a real treat to see them in non-Korean events.
|
Good news for MVP, should help them do even better.

WE as in WeMadeFox? They're disbanding, so I don't think that'll really hold up for much longer.
|
WE as in World Elite, a Chinese organization.
|
I'm really glad this Complexity/MVP partnership is blossoming, it's really the first of it's kind in terms of commitment and shared resources. It's cool to see that it hasn't been one sided either, particularly now with Drewbie going to train in Korea.

this is actually awesome...who says korean teams can't get sponsors???????
It's just ethnocentricity, if they approach foreign companies theres a chance they could get a decent sponsor as sponsors in the pc gaming industy should know how big these teams are

Although I'm a complexity fanboy, I'm going to answer this question completely honestly. On-board sound is more than enough for most people and most uses. Sound Blaster's cards are an improvement over on-board audio for music, movies, etc, but the effect is fairly small (true for all sound card brands) compared to sound boards. Many people who do care about super-high-quality music & whatnot say that one or two other sound card brands are better than Sound Blaster (onboard<SoundBlaster<"A" cards - but each step is fairly small).
The main reason to get a sound blaster card is that they have a particular focus on a gaming mode (EAX) and their cards carry the most up-to-date version of the EAX standard. However, EAX is starting to be phased out. So basically, if you play games that use EAX (especially EAX 5.0) then Sound Blaster is probably the best card for you for that reason. As it turns out I do: many of the Total War series games employ EAX. But you'd want to check the list of games you play and expect newer games not to use EAX.
Because of EAX, Sound Blaster is generally considered the "gamer alternative" for high-end cards.

hehe, wait for Liquid'SlayerS now thats a long clantag ^^
Cool stuff, and I'm hoping they made a deal for their own players to train in mvps house if they want to. Also those koreans really deserve some sponsors, they all train much harder but probably make less money than the foreign pros.

WE is a chinese clan that are/were partnering with prime since the beginning of sc2 as far as i know
|
CoL --> Korea, Keenemonies --> USA!
|
I love to see all of these things take place for the sake of E-Sports.
I just want to be able to walk into a bar on any given day and just see SC up on one of the TV's. Not a special event just a random day with games streaming.
|
This is awesome news, congratulations MVP and coL for making an awesome partnership and now that creative sound blaster is taking it the next step sponsoring MVP as well, just awesome. More money into eSports, more people at events. coL.MVP fighting!

Wow, this is great for Complexity and MVP. Kudos to Creative Sound Blasters for supporting both of the teams.

With WE. disbanding I could totally see dignitas-prime coming up
Edit: NVM, I see that WE. is a different team from posts above. Dignitas-Prime sounds cool though

great news! grats to both, I hope that more of CoL's players train with mvp

Lol, it was Nada who choked on a can of Pepsi, it was one of the GSTL game.
MC is the boss. who finished a can of Pepsi in one shot and crushed the can.

|
This is a cool move, insofar as it expands the sort of korean-foreigner hybrid which seems to be the near future of SC2, but I hope it doesn't make complexity lose sight of its foreigner players.
|
I got temp banned for saying that the first agreement was doing any good to the NA scene. But this new one is WAY better. Congratulations. Partnerships are the way to go.

Nice to see complexity going strong again. There was a while there where they just seemed like a shell of what they once were.

just yesterday i watched the mvp house tour again and while seen all these great players in such a small place i thought they could really use a good sponsor =) but it also boosts the reputation of coL a lot, especially outside na, i believe. though i feel CSB doesnt get enough attention

Ehhh wouldn't say he found Skew/Major as much as they were his BW buddies whom he purloined for his own evil world domineering purposes. :D edit: I guess he did "find" them back in BW tho.

coL needs to have DRG participate in their clan wars occasionally so he can allkill even more often

I don't know why MVP bothers teaming up with coL. CompLexity gaming doesn't have any players who are any good. Even when they acquired ROOT, all of the decent players moved to RGN or don't play for a team atm.

MVP gains a good sponsorship and complexity gains the opportunity to train with Koreans
It's a win win situation
|
So how are MVP not coL now? Seems like a similar partnership that FXO have with fOu without the loss of name.
|
On August 24 2011 05:57 Kuhva wrote: So how are MVP not coL now? Seems like a similar partnership that FXO have with fOu without the loss of name.
I don't think coL is buying out the team quite the way that FXO bought out fOu, but who knows, they might just want to keep the MVP brand name
I'm excited to see more of MVP in international events and hopefully more coL players in Korea, great news.
|
I really don't think there is any problem with this -.- More DRG is always a good thing XD except for our foriegn favoirtes
|
I love how Complexity is taking an extra step in their relationship with a Korean team, but I think it may be a step in the wrong direction.
Personally, I think it would be much better for coL, and MVP to an extent, if Complexity players started going to Korea in order to better their play, much like is being done with Drewbie. I'm not trying to be a downer here, but coL is far from a stellar line-up even as far as foreigners go.
Fnatic seems to be weeding out their SC2 division in hopes of acquiring new players who show the drive and initiative necessary to keep up with the intense training regimen of Korean Pro-Houses. I think it might be worth looking into for coL as well.
|
Good for MVP, they need the sponsors.
This is still pretty much an "all win" deal for MVP, complexity isn't getting that most out of this. They need more than just Drewbie to head to Korea to train.
|
Looking forward to DongRaeGu sound blasting nerds in the future!
|
This is a great thing for both NA esports and Korean esports. I am excited to see this!
|
FXopen acquired fOu, its not really a partnership like oGs-TL and coL.MVP.
Can't wait to speak with Minigun about this
