Demu threw a timewarp on the ramp, used the time it bought to kill the bunker on the low ground, and then just kept blinking back as stalkers got in the yellow. It wasnt an all in either, thats the problem. It was an aggressive macro build (an oxymoron if I've ever heard one). I'm pretty sure he was on a 12 "l" barcode if you want to go look at the builds on battlenet. And why would I just come on here and lie? How cynical do you have to be assume someone would come onto a forum, that in the end will have no influence on the blizzard balance team's decision making process, and just make shit up? Kinda sad.. | ||

Even though your reason for asking is completely transparent..yes I have made a post regarding the widow mine nerf going too far in TvZ, However, I do mostly post my concerns about balance in TvP. Thats only because I dont see any other major problems with the game, and dont see a need to make shit up just to post something different than what everyone else is also concerned about... | ||

What sort of feedback is Blizzard looking for? What the magic number is for how much damage the Oracle's beam should do? The magic number for how fast its movement speed should be? All right, bump its pricetag up by 100 gas and revert its speed to pre-patch. There's absolutely no reason such a gimmicky unit should be a macro opening. None whatsoever. If it has a chance of ending the game outright, it should have a significant drawback. But I haven't said anything here that hasn't been said before. I also haven't made it a non-shitty unit, all I did was make it not quite so shitty as it is right now. It's still a dumb, one-dimensional A-move unit that emphasizes Protoss's non-standard play. So what sort of feedback would be constructive? How to make it a solid macro unit? How about how to fix the MSC so it doesn't completely shut down Terran aggression? How about preventing Blink Stalker all-in from being so low risk, low reward? Should I suggest how to redesign the Colossus while I'm at it, so it doesn't encourage the same stupid deathball A-move play that we've been looking at for three years? Should I provide suggestions on how to redesign warp in so that it encourages positional play and micro instead of deathballs and the worst mirror (or any, for that matter) MU in the game? Redesign Immortals not to completely shut down mech play? What sort of feedback do you figure would be useful to Blizzard? I think they've heard it all before. I think they know what the problems and the solutions are. | ||

Other people do the work as it is, Lalush on air units recently being a prime example. The suggestions are there, pay ONE guy to trawl through and bring it to the dev team. You've got here, their own forums and r/Starcraft, enough on there. (Also that rant post wasn't really aimed at you btw) | ||

Most of the last few pages is DinoToss try to explain why Protoss having 'macro' builds that can outright win games if not scouted or prepared for is ok. One of the main issues with Protoss early game is the risk reward. We have already cover the oracle builds so let's look at blink. Blink all-ins have been here since WoL, so why is it an issue now? Because the protoss doesn't have to commit if they see enough defenses and can transition out. While the terran has no idea if the protoss is warping in more stalkers or they have transition. So they are forced to keep building units. Once they have enough units, they can push the protoss back. But the protoss just blinks away and goes back to their base where they already have enough units to defend. These high reward builds (outright win games if terran doesn't have enough bunkers/pulled SCVs/well split units) should have some downside if they are scouted. Imagine if a mine drop or hellion drop got scouted early, the terran is behind. One thing that would increase the risk would be lower the sight range of the MsC, with the MsC sight range, they can basically control the ramp on most maps while they can choose to blink into the main or focus down the bunk in front. So even if the terran has good unit distribution, they will lose some SCVs/bunkers/marines. If their unit distribution is poor, it just snowballs and they win outright. Time warp is also a big issue, its AoE is so big for that stage in the game. It nullifies SCVs pulled to defend while taking out a big chunk of the terrans bio. I don't think time warp is needed that early in the game in any of the 3 match ups. Maybe they can consider putting it as a low cost 50/50 reseach tech at templar archives. | ||

When does S1 WCS start anyway? I was thinking that this so-called off season would be the perfect time to try some even more drastic balance and design changes. Feels like Blizzard is missing a golden opportunity here, or maybe they are about to do that in the coming weeks. | ||
